If you're on the hunt for the crowning glory of your summer wardrobe, then look no further than Alex Jones' latest fashion discovery. The presenter donned the Verity Linen Midi Skirt from Boden on The One Show on Monday night (June 23), and it ticks all the boxes we're seeking in holiday attire.
From its vibrant tropical print to its airy linen fabric and flowing fit, it's truly the ideal choice for a holiday or even just coping with the UK heatwave at home. Now, we have some good news for you, as it's currently part of Boden's massive summer sale. Normally priced at £130, it's now been slashed to £91, saving you nearly £40.
Although it's available in seven different prints and patterns, it's Alex's tropical print version that's really grabbed our attention. The bold colours and fun pattern scream summer, with everything from bananas and pineapples to crabs and lobsters emblazoned on the midi skirt in bright summer hues.
In an Instagram story, the Welsh presenter described the Boden skirt as fun, before sharing her outfit of the day mirror selfie and heading to the One Show's sofa. You can watch the episode here to see Mrs Jones Thomson's skirt in action.
Alex Jones paired the colourful Boden skirt with a red heel and a button up red top.

The Verity Linen Midi Skirt is designed to sit at your natural waist for a flattering fit, with pleated details which then flare out into a floaty A-line shape with plenty of volume. There's nothing worse than tight, form-fitting clothing in the heat, which is why there's a hidden elasticated waistband at the back to ensure you have room for indulgent dinner you've been craving.
The brand have said that it was "made for your next trip to the coast". Made from 80% linen and 20% recycled linen, this fabric is the ideal breezy choice to stay cool even on scorching hot and humid days. It also boasts two handy side pockets, finally ladies, we get pockets!
The skirt is currently on sale on the Boden website

They have range of sizes from a 4 to a 22, as well as petite, regular or long options. Reviews of the product are very mixed as some mention that the product runs quite small and that you bear this in mind when ordering and potentially you should size up.
One person said: "It is a very good quality fabric and perfect for summer. Unfortunately 10P was like 8P and too tight on the waist, would return and get 12P. The length is perfect."
However another person said: "Love this beautiful summer skirt. Love that it has the elastic waist band and pockets. Lovely pattern and lots of colours that you can wear lots of different colour tops with. Can't wait to wear it on my cruise.
Another said: "I love the cut and material of this skirt. I just ordered another one in navy colours. "
However they added: "To make this product even better I would like to see it in other patterns, more muted. Most of the patterns and colours from this brand are too bright for my taste.
You can find more muted skirt options like this M&S Ecru denim skirt for £45 that "fits like a glove according to one reviewer.
Although, if you are a fan of the colourful skirt trend, you may like this coral pink and orange striped cotton maxi from Next for £40.
There is also this beachy shell print Nobody's Child maxi skirt for £75 which will be perfect for the Summer. The brand currently have a deal on for new customers, who will get an additional 15% off using the code HELLO15, which would make the skirt £63.75, saving you £11.25.

However, if you're keen to acquire the Verity Linen Midi Skirt, you'd best act swiftly, particularly if you're after the exact pattern sported by the Welsh icon. According to Boden's website, the skirt is "selling like hot cakes" and select sizes are beginning to sell out, which may have been due to Alex's televised seal of approval.

And Just Like That's new teaser sparks conspiracy theory that Samantha Jones is BACK after Kim Cattrall season 2 cameo
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) SEX and the City fans are convinced that Samantha Jones might make her long-awaited return in an upcoming episode. After Kim Cattrall's bombshell cameo in the Season 2 finale, a teaser from HBO Max has reignited hopes that Samantha might appear in another episode — despite the feud between the lead actresses. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 4 HBO Max shared a teaser for Thursday's episode on Instagram Credit: Instagram 4 Kim Cattrall's cameo as Samantha Jones in the Season 2 finale of And Just Like That Credit: HBO MAX 4 Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis in 1998 Credit: Getty Ahead of Thursday night's episode, Max (soon to be HBO Max) posted a hint at Samantha's comeback with an out-of-context picture from the show. The picture shows someone going to text Samantha Jones. The streaming service simply captioned the post with an eyes emoji, leaving fans to their own devices in the comments. "WE WANT HER. WE NEED HER," one Instagram user wrote. Another added, "Wait is she coming back? i'd start watching the show again." "You guys keep messing up with our hearts like that…," a third wrote, referencing the Season 2 cameo. Cattrall's appearance in last season's finale shocked viewers as the actress had previously said she wasn't interested in starring on the show due to her fallout with lead actress Sarah Jessica Parker. SJP has continued to film the show with the other leads, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, but fans of the iconic '90s series have persistently lamented the absence of the original foursome. The fans' complaints paid off when Samantha took a phone call from Carrie, SJP's character, in the episode that aired in 2023. However, Cattrall didn't have to be in the same room as the other stars to film the short scene — which was likely on purpose. And Just Like That fans are 'crying' over Samantha Jones' cameo on season finale and claim Kim Cattrall 'saved the show' The actress said on The View in 2023 that the show bosses called her and begged her to make a cameo. "It's very interesting to get a call from the head of HBO saying, 'What can we do?'" Cattrall said on the talk show. She said that she responded, "'Hmm, let me get creative.'" One of Cattrall's requirements was that Pat Field, the original costume designer for Sex and the City, work on her outfit for the cameo. Field, who declined to work on AJLT, agreed to dress Samantha again. "I just thought that if I'm going to come back, I gotta come back with that Samantha style. I gotta push it. And we did,' Cattrall said on The View. Cattrall reportedly filmed the scene without seeing or speaking to any of the show's other stars, and she didn't interact with the show's creator, Michael Patrick King, Variety reported at the time. SJP and Cattrall's feud reportedly started when Cattrall found out that the actress was making more per episode than her. The feud came to a head in 2018 when SJP expressed her sympathy after Cattrall's brother died. Cattrall slammed her on X at the time, saying, "My Mom asked me today 'When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?' "Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. 'You are not my family. You are not my friend. 'Stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your 'nice girl' persona." She later publicly said that SJP was never her friend, only her colleague. Parker has denied any bad blood between the two. Fans have yet to see if Parker and Cattrall come face to face in AJLT this season. The Season 3 finale is currently slated for August 14, 2025.
