Contracts differ vastly between developmental territory NXT and the main roster. 'When you're first getting signed, if you're doing an NXT deal, that's different,' he noted. 'From NXT, you move on to the main roster - that's a whole different contract.'
According to reports, the minimum base salary for a WWE main roster talent was recently raised from $250,000 to $350,000 per year. Top-tier stars like Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes reportedly earn between $10 to $15 million annually.
Childhood Paycheck Sparks Family Drama
In another podcast Mysterio shared a surprising anecdote from his early years in WWE. He revealed that he was paid $5,000 for appearing in the iconic 2005 feud between his father, Rey Mysterio, and Eddie Guerrero - but he never saw most of it.
'My parents told me I got five grand,' he said on the Intoxicados podcast. 'I went to Toys R Us, spent maybe $300 or $400. When I asked to go to Target after, my mom said, 'That's it. That's all your money.''

Dominik believes the rest of the money might have gone to his sister Aalyah's college fund. 'They told me they put it aside, but I never saw it again,' he joked.
Dominik also recalled a bizarre fan encounter that left even WWE's security baffled. A woman, honeymooning with her husband, approached him and said she insisted on meeting him during their trip - then invited him to her hotel.
'I looked at the husband and said, 'You better come get your girl before she gets dirty,'' he recalled. The husband reportedly just shrugged it off, adding, 'I'm only here for her.'
While Dominik's heel persona may get heat on TV, it's clear the real-life reactions from fans are just as intense.
