Celebrities rally in support for Cassie Ventura after Diddy's verdict
American rapper-turned-mogul, Sean 'Diddy' Combs has been convicted on two charges of transportation for prostitution of former employee and ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura and another, unnamed woman, after a highly-publicised eight-week trial.
The Bad Boy record label exec was acquitted of three more severe charges faced, including two counts of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
Cassie Ventura accused Diddy of sexual assault and abuse in November 2023, before further details emerged of an alleged sex trafficking operation the 55-year-old rapper headed.
Thirty-eight-year-old Cassie detailed horrific abuse she allegedly faced at the hands of her former boss, such as being forced to take part in drug-fuelled orgies that Combs infamously dubbed 'freak-offs," as well as physical abuse.
The court was shown CCTV footage, from 2016, of Diddy violently attacking Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel hallway. Despite this and other evidence presented by the prosecution team, Combs evaded the lengthier charges.
A number of celebrities, some of whom are abuse survivors themselves, have come forward in support of Ms Ventura following the verdict.
Kesha
Kesha expressed her support for Cassie on social media, posting on X: 'Cassie, I believe you. I love you. Your strength is a beacon for every survivor.'

The singer, who is the same age as Ventura, previously accused music producer and collaborator, Lukasz Gottwald, or 'Dr. Luke', of rape in 2014. Kesha fought for the termination of her contract with him, alleging he had "sexually, physically, verbally, and emotionally abused," her "to the point where [she] nearly lost her life".
Gottwald has always denied the claims, and, in 2023, a settlement was reached between the pair.
Rosie O'Donnell
'I guess a jury just never wants to believe that a woman stays because of power and coercion," comedian Rosie O'Donnell shared on Instagram following the Diddy verdict. She added: "Wow - they just think women stay because what? Money - fame - 'they love the abuse' - what a f****** joke - this decision got me angry #cassie."
Evan Rachel Wood
Elsewhere, actress Evan Rachel Wood, who accused her former partner Marilyn Manson of grooming and sexual abuse in 2021, which he denies, voiced her support for Cassie, too.
'There is no consent in a domestic violence relationship. Period,' she wrote. 'Once the threat of violence is there, you comply. You do not consent. It is self-preservation and survival. It is not freely or willingly given. It is forced and coerced out of you. We clearly have a long way to go in our understanding of this.'
Aubrey O'Day
Aubrey O'Day is a former member of Danity Kane, a group signed to Diddy's Bad Boy Records label. She has claimed she was fired from this role because she refused to do things "in other areas," under Combs' management. She too posted her support of Cassie.
'The cultural weight of this decision is immeasurable. It is heartbreaking to witness how many lives have been impacted by their experiences with Sean Combs - only for those stories to fall short in the eyes of a jury.
"I can only hope these jurors never have to watch someone they love endure what so many survivors have described. My heart is with Cassie. A woman who could've had a life and career free of fear and control. A woman who told her truth in a courtroom, only to have the world dissect her credibility instead of her courage.
'Let's be clear: the courtroom operates by the law, but that DOES NOT mean it delivers justice.'

Joey 'Jaws' Chestnut reclaims title in Famous hot dog eating contest, wins 17th Mustard Belt
Famed competitive eater Joey "Jaws" Chestnut reclaimed his title Friday at the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July hot-dog eating contest after after skipping last year's gastronomic battle in New York for the coveted Mustard Belt. Chestnut, 41, consumed 70 1/2 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes, falling short of his record of 76 wieners and buns set on July 4, 2021. It marked the 17th win in 20 appearances for the Westfield, Indiana, eater at the internationally televised competition, which he missed in 2024 over a contract dispute. Defending champion in the women's division, Miki Sudo of Tampa, Florida, won her 11th title, downing 33 dogs, besting a dozen competitors. Last year, she ate a record 51 links. A large crowd, many wearing foam hot dog hats, braved high temperatures to witness the annual eat-a-thon, held outside the original Nathan's Famous restaurant in Coney Island, Brooklyn, since 1972. Many show up to see Chestnut's much-awaited return to an event he has called "a cherished tradition, a celebration of American culture, and a huge part of my life." Chestnut bested 14 fellow competitors from across the U.S. and internationally, including Australia, the Czech Republic, Ontario, England and Brazil. Last year, Major League Eating event organizer George Shea said Chestnut would not be participating in the contest due to a contract dispute. Chestnut had struck a deal with a competing brand, the plant-based meat company Impossible Foods. Chestnut told The Associated Press last month that he had never appeared in any commercials for the company's vegan hot dogs and that Nathan's is the only hot dog company he has worked with. But Chestnut acknowledged he "should have made that more clear with Nathan's." Last year, Chestnut ate 57 dogs — in only five minutes — in an exhibition with soldiers, at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. He said that event was "amazing" and he was pleased to still have a chance to eat hot dogs — a lot of them — on July Fourth. "I'm happy I did that, but I'm really happy to be back at Coney Island," he said.

Oasis 'hire Justin Bieber's bodyguard and Madonna's chef' for sold-out tour
Liam and Noel Gallagher have reunited for an epic tour, with Oasis' first gig in 16 years starting at Cardiff's Principality Stadium and they also have a very big team Oasis have reportedly hired Justin Bieber's bodyguard, Ian Norrington, and Madonna's chef, Darren Staats, for their reunion tour - which starts today in Cardiff. Ian was the Peaches singer's bodyguard during the height of his fruitful career as well as Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss. The Muay Thai enthusiast will be looking after Liam and Noel Gallagher, and band members Paul Arthurs, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Joey Waronker, during the long-awaited tour following their 16-year feud. "Oasis know the tour is going to be absolutely frenzied so there is no one better to look after them than Ian," an insider claimed. Liam and Noel will reportedly also be joined by Madonna's former 'clean-eating' chef Darren, who 'knows exactly what the band want on tour', The Sun reported. The Mirror have reached out to Oasis for comment. The Mirror recently reported that the main Oasis line up was as expected with Liam as the frontman and Noel on guitar alongside close pals and regulars Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, Gem Archer and Andy Bell. The new drummer is Joey Waronker, who performed with Liam Gallagher and John Squire last year on a tour. In the tour programme, there are a few more musicians playing with Oasis, including Christian Madden on keyboards, Jess Greenfield on backing vocals, Alastair White on trombone, Steve Hamilton on saxophone and Joe Auckland will be playing the trumpet. The Mirror understands Jess will no longer be on stage with a source close to the group saying she was only listed in the earlier drafts of the programme and won't be going on tour. An insider said: "The band are not using backing singers anymore. Noel has worked loads with Jess in the past but after final rehearsals were done and the set list was drawn up it made more sense for Noel to do the backing vocals for Liam on the songs. Click here for the Mirror's live updates on the Oasis tour. "It's a shame for Jess but it's likely there will be other opportunities for her with Noel in the future. They just didn't need her in the end." Speaking on the Behind The Curtain podcast, Jess spoke about the reunion and said: "I found out pretty much when everyone else did. I'd heard rumours and then I heard for definite two days before through someone else. Yeah It was definitely a shock. 'I'd love to go. Hopefully Wembley cos it is Wembley. It's amazing and the last time they performed those songs properly was in the Nineties when I was a teenager and I didn't go to the gigs back in the day. 'So it will be nice to see it as an adult. I'm really looking forward to it.'

Huge music concert cancelled amidst safety fears as fans travel to venue
Lytham Festival has been cancelled due to "adverse weather conditions". The organisers released a statement on Friday evening hours before it was due to start. They said: "Due to adverse weather conditions, we unfortunately have had to make the decision to cancel this evening. The safety of our customers, staff and artists is our priority and increasing high winds mean it would not be safe to go ahead." On Friday, the likes of Alanis Morissette, Train, Liz Phair and more were due to perform. Fans fumed as they took to the festival's socials to claim they didn't find out about the cancellations until last minute. One user said underneath the festival's Facebook post: "Omg I'm literally soaking wet waiting for the flyer and then some kind random lady told me it was cancelled. No email or text from poor comms!" Another furious user commented: "Ridiculous announcement too late, we are in a world where we absolutely know what the weather conditions will be, clearly not prepared with the right equipment. Glastonbury continues if your swimming to the stage. Bloody joke." One questioned why it took them so long to post the news on social media. They said: "We were turned away 40mins ago. Shocking that it's taken this long to officially announce it on social media and your app." This year's festival is supposed to host five nights of live music on Lytham Green on the baks of the Ribble Estuary. Over 100,000 people attend every summer, with the likes of Lionel Richie and Lewis Capaldi previously headlining. Stevie Wonder kicked off this year's festival on Thursday evening with a supporting performance from Corinne Bailey Rae. *This is a breaking showbiz news story.
