UN Envoy Warns Regional Turmoil Threatens Fragile Peace in Yemen

Aden - The United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen has issued a stark warning that escalating regional tensions could unravel the fragile peace process in Yemen, jeopardizing years of diplomatic progress and humanitarian efforts. Speaking before the UN Security Council on Tuesday, Envoy Hans Grundberg emphasized that while Yemen has witnessed a relative lull in large-scale hostilities, the situation remains precarious. 'The conflict in Yemen is not isolated,' Grundberg said. 'It is deeply intertwined with broader regional dynamics, and recent developments risk reigniting violence.' Rising Regional Tensions The warning comes amid heightened instability in the Red Sea region and renewed hostilities between neighboring states. Analysts fear that external actors could exploit Yemen's internal divisions, fueling proxy conflicts and undermining peace negotiations. Grundberg pointed to recent cross-border attacks and political maneuvering by regional powers as signs that the conflict could escalate. 'Yemen's peace is fragile, and it cannot be sustained in a vacuum,' he noted. Diplomatic Efforts at Risk The UN-led peace initiative, which has facilitated prisoner exchanges and temporary ceasefires, now faces significant challenges. Grundberg urged all parties to recommit to dialogue and avoid actions that could derail the process. 'The Yemeni people have endured unimaginable suffering,' he said. 'They deserve a future free from war, and that future depends on the restraint and cooperation of regional stakeholders.' Humanitarian Concerns The humanitarian situation remains dire, with over 21 million people in need of assistance. Aid agencies warn that renewed conflict could further restrict access to food, medicine, and shelter. Grundberg concluded his address with a call for unity: 'We must not allow regional turmoil to extinguish the fragile hope that has begun to take root in Yemen.'

Govt Media Office in Gaza: 124 aid trucks entered Gaza Strip Sunday, most of which were looted

Gaza – Saba: The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip said on Monday that only 124 aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip yesterday, Sunday, most of which were looted and robbed amidst deliberate security chaos created by the Israeli enemy as part of its policy of "engineering starvation and chaos" aimed at undermining the steadfastness of the Palestinian people. The office said in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba): "Over the course of 15 days, the total number of aid trucks that entered the Gaza Strip was only 1,334, out of the intended quantity of 9,000. This means that what entered is equivalent to approximately 14% of the actual needs." The statement stressed that the Israeli enemy continues to prevent the entry of sufficient aid trucks, close the crossings, and undermine the work of humanitarian organizations. It added, "We remind you that the Gaza Strip needs more than 600 different aid trucks daily to meet the minimum needs of 2.4 million people, amid the near-total collapse of infrastructure due to the ongoing war and genocide." The government media outlet held the Zionist enemy and its allies fully responsible for the humanitarian catastrophe. The government media called on the United Nations, Arab and Islamic countries, and the international community to take serious action to open the crossings and ensure the flow of aid, especially food, baby formula, and life-saving medicines, and to hold the Zionist enemy accountable for its crimes against civilians. Araghchi: Grossi's deputy will arrive in Tehran tomorrow, will not visit any site before framework is reached

Tehran - Saba: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced on Sunday that the Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Massimo Aparo, will arrive in Tehran tomorrow, stressing: "There is no plan to visit any site unless a framework is reached." In a statement to reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting, Araghchi said: "There will be no visit to any site before a framework is reached, and cooperation will not begin. This framework will be based on the law of the Shura Council." Regarding contacts between Iran and the Europeans, he explained: "Our contacts with the Europeans are ongoing. They raised the issue of the immediate restoration of sanctions (the trigger mechanism), and our position is that this mechanism is no longer relevant. From our perspective, Europe is not considered a party to the nuclear agreement. There are, of course, technical and legal discussions, and my colleagues are in contact with the Europeans, but no date has been set for any next round of negotiations."
