Doctor charged with Supplying ketamine to Matthew Perry Agrees to Plead Guilty

Yara Sameh Matthew Perry's doctor, Salvador Plasencia, has agreed to plead guilty to four counts of distributing ketamine to the 'Friends' star, who died of an overdose in October 2023. Plasencia admitted in the plea agreement that he repeatedly provided ketamine without a legitimate medical purpose in the weeks leading up to Perry's death. The agreement anticipates a prison sentence in the range of 15-21 months, though the sentence will be up to the judge. Perry was found dead in his hot tub at his home in the Pacific Palisades. He was 54. Last summer, federal authorities charged Plasencia and four others with responsibility for his death. In a text message to another doctor, Plasencia allegedly wrote, 'I wonder how much this moron will pay… Let's find out.' Prosecutors have also charged Jasveen Sangha, nicknamed the 'Ketamine Queen,' with possessing and distributing methamphetamine and ketamine out of a stash house in North Hollywood. Sangha is due to go on trial in August. Three other defendants — Erik Fleming, Kenneth Iwamasa and Mark Chavez — had also agreed to plead guilty to a single count of conspiracy to supply ketamine. Authorities alleged that Plasencia attempted to cover his tracks during the investigation, concocting a bogus 'treatment plan' for Perry in a show that the ketamine was legitimately prescribed. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Will Smith to Headline 2025 Mawazine Festival

Yara Sameh Will Smith is heading back to the stage—and this time, it's in Morocco. The iconic rapper and actor will perform on June 25 at the OLM Souissi stage during the 2025 edition of the Mawazine Festival, which runs from June 20 to June 28 and marks the start of his European tour. Mawazine is an international music festival that began in 2001 and is hosting its 20th edition this year. As one of the largest music festivals in the world, the event attracts more than 2.5 million attendees each year. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Festival Mawazine (@mawazine) The gig marks a rare and highly anticipated return to music for the Hollywood star, who spent the last few decades focusing almost entirely on film. Before becoming a blockbuster fixture, Smith broke into the spotlight as half of the hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. The pair became one of rap's early mainstream success stories, earning a Grammy for the wildly popular track 'Parents Just Don't Understand' and later cementing their legacy with the timeless summer anthem 'Summertime.' Smith eventually launched a solo career that produced global hits like 'Men in Black,' 'Wild Wild West,' and 'Gettin' Jiggy wit It,' elevating him to a level of pop culture fame few artists ever reach. His upcoming appearance at Mawazine is expected to be one of the festival's biggest highlights, drawing in longtime fans nostalgic for his 90s-era sound, as well as a new generation curious to see him return to his musical roots. The event is poised to deliver not just a performance but a cultural moment, bridging decades of influence in music and entertainment. Smith won't be the internationally renowned artist commanding the stage at this year's festival. Two days before his performance, on June 23, Kid Cudi is set to perform at the same venue. Headliners for this edition include renowned artists such as 50 Cent, Becky G, Salif Keita, Julian Marley, and the K-pop group aespa. Will Smith will perform on June 25 at the OLM Souissi stage, while Salif Keita, the Golden Voice of Mali, will deliver an emotive performance on June 27 at the Bouregreg stage. The festival also highlights African artists such as Yemi Alade, Cheikh Lô, Etuk Ubong, and ElGrandeToto, reflecting the continent's rich musical heritage. With over 90% of concerts offering free access, Mawazine continues to promote cultural openness and accessibility to music for all. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand
