Screenwriter Discusses Rush To Bring Prime Video's The Elevator Boys Movie to Life — Seriencamp
Going up… ideas for the upcoming movie with The Elevator Boys for Prime Video needed to come together fast. The film with the German social media stars turned boy band is now in production. Juliana Lima Dehne, who wrote the screenplay, told a Seriencamp crowd she had only days to turn around the original ideas for the story.
Lima Dehne was speaking at a session about European writers' rooms at the Seriencamp confab in Cologne, Germany, and gave the backstory.

'When Amazon [and the producers] asked me to work on this and come up with ideas to pitch, because they had a deal with The Elevator Boys, I said okay, that's great. They said: We want at least five ideas, completely separate from each other, and because of the time, and because they are travelling the world, we need to present them next week.'
Lima Dehne, whose credits include hit German series Maxton Hall, said that given the tight turnaround, she quickly put together a mini writers' room to brainstorm ideas.
The as-yet-untitled movie will follow a fictional group played by the real-life German boy band, whose members are: Bene Schulz, Jacob Rott, Julien Brown, Luis Freitag, and Tim Schaecker.
'I brought in two writers whom I adore and I work really well with, and we were just viewing ideas for these five pitches so that The Elevator Boys, ultimately, could pick one to develop into a movie,' Lima Dehne explained.
The elevator pitch evidently worked. Cameras rolled on the pic in March with filming in Malta and elsewhere in Europe. W&B Television, the prolific German producer that is part of Leonine Studios is making the film, in association with Amazon MGM Studios Germany for Prime Video.
Prime Video is on a tear with younger-skewing drama. Add in the huge following The Elevator Boys have on social and hopes are high for their movie.

Fleetwood Mac's ‘Rumours' Reaches A Momentous Milestone
Fleetwood Mac's Rumours reaches 1,100 weeks on the U.K.'s Official Albums chart — a first for the ... More band — and 550 on the streaming tally. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - MARCH 29: Mike Campbell, John McVie, inductee Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie and Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac pose in the press room during attends the 2019 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony - Press Room at Barclays Center on March 29, 2019 in New York City. (Photo byFor The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame) Fleetwood Mac's Rumours is already regarded as one of the greatest pieces of commercial music of all time, and when it comes to sales, it stands in a league with only a handful of other blockbusters. As more time passes, the pop-rock set only continues to prove its unbelievable popularity. Fans around the world have never stopped consuming it — either via purchases or on streaming platforms. The combined listening and buying activity, which may never stop, helps the behemoth reach an incredible milestone this week. This frame in the United Kingdom, Rumours rises from No. 21 to No. 12 on the Official Albums chart. It does so as it hits 1,100 weeks on that ranking of the 100 most consumed projects in the nation. Rumours is easily Fleetwood Mac's longest-running success on the Official Albums chart. It is one of only a handful of efforts from the band to rack up a triple-digit lifespan on the tally. It comes in behind The Very Best Of (360 weeks), 50 Years – Don't Stop (342), and Tango in the Night (123). Amazingly, Rumours beats all of those bestsellers combined. The beloved collection appears on half a dozen charts in the U.K. at the moment, and it reaches a special milestone on two of them. In addition to 1,100 weeks on the Official Albums chart, the project also hits 550 frames on the Official Albums Streaming ranking — exactly half the time it has spent on the former. Rumours also lives on four additional tallies across the Atlantic, all of which are focused on purchases. The set has now spent at least 100 weeks on the Official Albums Sales, Official Album Downloads, Official Physical Albums, and Official Vinyl Albums lists as of last frame, and it is currently rising on all but one of them.

Jeremy Clarkson bans customer from his pub over price complaint
Jeremy Clarkson has banned a prospective customer from his Cotswolds pub after they criticised its food prices. Clarkson, 65, opened the doors to The Farmer's Dog pub near Burford, Oxfordshire, last August and has documented the lead-up to the launch on the latest series of his Prime Video reality show Clarkson's Farm. The former Top Gear host didn't hold back when one Twitter/X user weighed in on the cost of dining at the establishment, which serves produce from Clarkson's nearby farm, Diddly Squat. The social media user claimed that the price for one meal at The Farmer's Dog was 'a bit much', writing: 'Thought @JeremyClarkson wanted an affordable pub for customers. £24 for pie and veg is a bit much.' Another detractor then chimed in with a comment about the price of British beef, claiming: 'Dead weight for British beef is far too expensive £6.89/kg for R4L [a term used for grading beef] down from the record high £6.98/kg earlier in the month.' Clarkson then responded simply by stating: 'You are now banned from the pub.' It's not the first time that Clarkson has laid down the law to bar potential customers from his new venture Last year, a photo of The Farmer's Dog's 'people who are banned' list circulated on social media, with prime minister Sir Keir Starmer and Clarkson's former Top Gear and The Grand Tour co-star James May sharing the dubious honour of being the first two people to be barred. May's Grand Tour colleague Richard Hammond has also previously joked that he is not allowed to visit the pub either. Clarkson took over the venue, formerly known as The Windmill, in June 2024, intending to serve food and drink from local suppliers. The concluding episodes of season four of Clarkson's Farm aired on Prime Video on Friday (6 June) and showed the broadcaster struggling to prepare for the pub's grand opening after mixing up the dates of the August bank holiday, with Clarkson eventually putting the finishing touches to the venue as customers queue up outside.
