Of Notoriety: Final weekend for Towle's ‘POTUS,' anniversary free concert at Hard Rock and Bublé salute at TATC
'POTUS' is the term used at times to shorten the title 'President of the United States.' 'POTUS' is also the title of the play continuing performances through this weekend at Towle Theater, 5205 Hohman Ave. in Hammond. The secondary title for this stage comedy written by Selina Fillinger and directed by Anna Maria D'Ortenzio is 'Behind Every Great Dumb*** Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive.'
When the president unwittingly spins a PR nightmare into a global crisis, the seven brilliant and beleaguered women he relies upon most risk life, liberty and the pursuit of sanity to keep the commander-in-chief out of trouble. The play is described as 'a bawdy and irreverent look at sex, politics and the women in charge of the man in charge of the free world, with a reminder that global crisis is always just a four-letter word away.' A show disclaimer warns that 'this play opens with a strong expletive and continues with raunchy language throughout.' Performances are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $24 in advance and $28 at the door and available by calling 219-937-8780 or visit www.towletheater.org.

'Forever Plaid' is one of the most popular and successful small cast cabaret style musicals of recent decades. Four musical hopefuls, Sparky, Smudge, Jinx and Frankie travel the small stage circuit as the crooning group 'The Plaids.' Fearful that the close of the decade of the 1950s means the end of the music and song stylings they so love, they fail to embrace the world of the swinging 1960s. A tragic car accident sends the fellows to heavenly limbo where they are given a chance to live their worldly dream of appearing on Ed Sullivan's popular CBS Sunday night variety show. This jukebox musical stars Josh Bachman as Francis, Phil Dietrich as Sparky, Trey Erny as Jinx and Jason Utesch as Smudge as directed by Patti Shaffner. From calypso beats to Perry Como and 'Three Coins in the Fountain,' audiences enjoy a musical trip down a memory lane of tune favorites. Weekend performances start May 9 with 8 p.m. curtains on Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. matinees on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets range from $27 to $60 at MemorialOperaHouse.com or 219-548-9137.

Matty Matheson Teams Up with Gozney to Design His Very Own Portable Pizza Oven
Summary Between running a restaurant empire, starring in the Emmy Award-winning seriesThe Bear– set to premiere its fourth season later this month – and getting swept up in theGTA VIrumor mill, with reports suggesting he'll be a playable character, it's safe to say Matty Matheson keeps busy. For his latest project, the Canadian cook and all-round cool guy has teamed up with the viral outdoor cooking brandGozneyto design his very own pizza oven – and the result is both appetizingly fun and unmistakably Matty. Started in 2010 by itseponymous founder, Gozney's popularity has boomed in recent years thanks to fan-made videos that have racked up millions of views on social media. But Matheson's relationship with the British brand goes back over 10 years and, ina postteasing the collaboration on his Instagram, he said the project was 'a decade in the making.' The collaboration sees the multi-hyphenate put his personal touch on one of Gozney's most popular products, theTread, a model the brand describes as 'hyper-portable' and 'ultra-rugged' and one that stars in many of the viral videos found online. The limited-editionMatty Matheson Signature Treadarrives in a signature 'Matty orange' colorway and features illustrations of a 'nostalgic cartoon world' –Matty's World– engraved onto its stainless steel exterior. The fun, lighthearted scene that adorns Matheson's take on the 'world's most portable pizza oven' was created byChris Wilson, one of his longtime collaborators. Powered by propane, theMatty Matheson Signature Treadis small but mighty oven that's equally at home in your garden as it is in the back of your car. It weighs less than 30lbs and has a compact form factor that measures 12.6-inches high, 16.5-inches wide and 19.1-inches deep. Additionally, Gozney offers several accessories for the Tread including atravel bagmade from rugged nylon and reinforced on both the top and bottom and a quad-leggedtelescopic standwith die-castaluminum legs that fold down for portability among others – in all of these, the brand's considered approach to design is clear, from its choice of materials to the functionality (and sometimes modularity) of each item. Matheson, who also fronts Gozney's current'Cook Different'campaign, said: 'Me and Tom Gozney go way back – imagine two great minds mashed into one great thing.' Tom Gozney, the brand's founder, added that the collaboration 'felt natural' and 'honestly overdue', and described the new product as being 'loud, bold, full of personality [...] while still delivering the world-class quality we're known for.' TheMatty Matheson Signature Treadlaunches globally via Gozney'swebsiteand select retailers on June 11, priced at £549.99 GBP / $549.99 USD.

Stanley Cup Final 2025: Expert staff picks, predictions and more
Stanley Cup Final 2025: Expert staff picks, predictions and more We've finally reached the final hockey series of the year and it was well worth the wait. The Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers will face off for the second straight year as the southern team tries to retain the title while their neighbors up north look to bring the Stanley Cup to Canadian soil for the first time since 1993. Naturally, we've assembled our team of experts to predict how this will all play out — and hopefully make up for our preseason prediction whiffs. Game 1 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final starts on Wednesday night so let's just jump right into it. Who's Winning The 2025 Stanley Cup Final? Blake Schuster: Oilers in 7 DRAG THEM BACK TO EDMONTON RETURNS WITH A VENGEANCE. But for real, I refuse to believe this season ends with Seth Jones lifting the Stanley Cup. Robert Zeglinski: Oilers in 6 I don't care if it's the cliche, trite reasoning but I want Connor McDavid to finally win the Cup. I want arguably the most talented hockey player ever to finally hoist Lord Stanley. Don't use any of this against me if the Oilers ever start a dynasty and I get sick of all their winning. I'm a human being. I'm allowed to change my opinions. Mary Clarke: Panthers in 7 I think the Oilers losing Zach Hyman to a season-ending injury is going to loom incredibly large in this series. While I'd rather see the Oilers capture the Stanley Cup and bring it home to Canada for the first time since 1993, the Panthers seem poised to take advantage of a major weakness in the Oilers' lineup. Charles Curtis: Oilers in 7 Sigh. I'm fully aware the Panthers are built for the postseason and they've looked every bit like the team that won last year. But the revenge storyline is too much. The Oilers dig deep and win it at home, bringing the Cup back to Canada. Jordan Tomiyama: Panthers in 6 I know it's Connor McDavid's revenge tour but the Panthers are built DIFFERENT. They're incredibly deep, mean and have a great goalie. I don't trust the Oilers' goaltending and the Panthers will light Stuart Skinner up. Who's Winning The 2025 Conn Smythe? Blake Schuster: Connor McDavid Yeah, I'm thinking back to that video from last year. You know the one. Last year's Cup Final was't a referendum on his career. This one certainly is. Robert Zeglinski: Connor McDavid Assuming this series goes at least six games, McDavid is on pace for something almost close to 40 playoff points. That is absurd (he also did it last year, by the way). In this scenario, no one else could possibly win the Conn Smythe if the Oilers come out on top. Mary Clarke: Connor McDavid Much like last year, McDavid will still capture the Conn Smythe even if the Oilers lose because he's just that good. Charles Curtis: Leon Draisatl I'm going against the crowd. I think there's a lot of attention paid to the other superstar on this team, opening things up for this incredibly talented forward. Jordan Tomiyama: Aleksander Barkov He's an elite two way player. If he shuts down McDavid and scores a couple goals, the Conn Smythe will be his. Who's The Biggest X-Factor? Blake Schuster: Brad Marchand He has 14 points in 17 postseason games already and is such a pest (complimentary) that just keeping him away from the corners and front of the net is a win. If Edmonton can bully the 37-year-old more than he's used to, life becomes much easier for the Oilers. Robert Zeglinski: Corey Perry Ironically, this is the veteran's fifth straight appearance in the NHL's championship round. Uh, yeah, he lost the previous four. But that's neither here nor there. If anyone can potentially shift the tide of this series, it's Perry, who has proven to be good third-line depth for Edmonton. Mary Clarke: Sam Bennett Bennett's made himself a major talking point in these playoffs for the Panthers and I expect that to continue into the Stanley Cup Final. Not only is he toeing the line of being dangerous every time he steps out onto the ice, he also is a near point per game player with 10 goals and 16 points in 17 playoff games so far. Charles Curtis: Stuart Skinner Any and all questions about the Oilers' goaltending have been put to rest. If he plays like he did against the Stars, the Oilers are winning. Jordan Tomiyama: Stuart Skinner The Oilers goaltending has been feast or famine this postseason. If he plays well, they have a legit chance of hoisting the Stanley Cup but I think the Panthers will take advantage of inconsistent play.

Advertisement On an episode on Monday, ESPN's Marty Smith joined the show and brought some serious praise for Scheffler. While chatting with McAfee, Smith didn't hold back. 'If Scheffler is not such an overwhelming favorite [at Oakmont], we're talking Tiger Woods at his highest powers type of favorite, then they're not doing it right,' Smith said, calling Scheffler's precision 'historic and remarkable.' Somebody will come scoop that up and act like they're you!' Scheffler's latest victory came at Muirfield Village, where he defended his title at the Memorial Tournament, winning by four strokes. With that, he became only the second repeat winner after Tiger Woods, who last did it more than two decades ago. Advertisement It was Scheffler's third win in his last four starts and his 16th PGA Tour title overall and it's no wonder he's being compared to the 'Greatest Of All Time' golfer. When asked about dominance, Scheffler humbly said per Business Today, 'I never think about dominating... I'm just trying to be the best that I can be and work hard.' With the U.S. Open around the corner, Scheffler's form is peaking at just the right time and it's clear that everyone, even the big sports talk shows, are watching.
