Install complaint boxes at DM, SDM offices for people to raise grievances: CM Rekha Gupta
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday instructed that 'complaint boxes' be installed at the offices of all district magistrates, sub-divisional magistrates, and sub-registrars, to allow people to raise grievances.
She was chairing a review meeting with the heads of various departments at Delhi Secretariat to review pending complaints and their resolution through the Public Grievance Management System (PGMS) portal. The PGMS portal is a platform through which departments are informed about public grievances.
In a statement, the government said, 'Citizens will be able to submit written complaints in these boxes, which will be directly monitored and evaluated by the Chief Minister's Office to ensure no grievances are being overlooked. Officials have also been directed to make provisions for receiving complaints through WhatsApp, mobile apps, and toll-free numbers. Departments have been asked to take steps to improve their PGMS portals.'
Gupta said addressing complaints of people is a top priority for her government and directed departments to prepare action taken reports and resolve pending complaints on priority.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was visiting Uttarakhand with her family following the 100-day completion of the BJP government in Delhi. On Sunday, CM Gupta took a holy dip in the Ganga in Haridwar and vowed to clean the Yamuna River so that people could also do so. She also met Swami Avdheshanand Giri Maharaj at Harihar Ashram in Haridwar. Expressing, CM Gupta stated, 'It is a feeling of immense joy. Yesterday, the government completed 100 days of rule in Delhi. Yesterday we did Aarti in the Yamuna river and today, after taking a dip in the Ganga, I really feel that the pace of development in Delhi will now pick up more speed. Today, after taking the blessings of Gurujan, I am feeling more powerful within myself. I have a sense of responsibility. Delhi, which has been suffering for many years, now that the government has come, it is our responsibility to ensure Delhi progresses. I ask for the strength that whatever the aspirations of the people are, I am able to fulfil them.' 'I prayed to God that the way lakhs of devotees come to Haridwar to worship River Ganga, in the same way, River Yamuna can be cleaned so that people can take a holy dip there,' the Delhi CM added. CM Rekha Gupta, accompanied by her family, also visited the Har Ki Pauri ghat in Haridwar on Sunday and took a holy dip in the Ganga river. After taking a holy dip in the Ganga at Har Ki Pauri, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said, 'Taking blessings from Maa Ganga, we will work to make Maa Yamuna clean and beautiful. We will work to speed up the development of Delhi. Taking the blessings of Maa, I feel very satisfied that as the Chief Minister of Delhi, I will be able to do better work for Delhi.' Contribute now New Delhi: The Prime Ministers Museum and Library, previously known as the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, has got a new director – former Air India chief Ashwani Lohani – months after the post was vacated earlier this year. Lohani is an Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering (IRSME) officer of the 1980 batch. Before his appointment, Lily Pandeya, joint secretary in the Union culture ministry, had taken over as interim director after the tenure of former power secretary Sanjiv Nandan Sahai ended in March 2025. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved Lohani's appointment on June 4 for a three-year tenure, the Indian Express reported. Lohani has served as the chairman and managing director of Air India in the past. He was also the chairman of the Railway Board of Indian Railways in 2017 and joined the GMR group as chief executive officer after retiring from government service. The Union government has also expanded the executive council of PMML from 29 members to 34. The new members include former Union minister Smriti Irani, NITI Aayog former vice-chairman Rajiv Kumar, retired Army General Syed Ata Hasnain, renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, and Vasudev Kamath from Sanskar Bharati, according to a notification issued by the culture ministry. Former principal secretary to the prime minister Nripendra Mishra has been reappointed as the chairperson of the organisation. Telangana Cabinet to meet twice a month to accelerate policy implementation; earlier met once in 2-3 months
In a major administrative reform to improve governance and accelerate policy implementation, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has decided that the Telangana cabinet will convene twice a month going forward. Cabinet meetings will now be held every 15 days, specifically on the first and third Saturdays of each month. The Chief Minister instructed officials to make necessary arrangements to ensure regular and structured cabinet sessions, allowing for continuous monitoring and timely decision-making on key issues. Chief Minister's Office calls it a 'progressive step' that would ensure greater accountability, transparency, and efficiency in the functioning of the State government. This marks a clear departure from the earlier practice of holding cabinet meetings once every two to three months. 'To avoid delays in critical policy decisions and to ensure dynamic governance, the Chief Minister has instituted a bi-monthly cabinet schedule,' an official said. The Chief Minister is of the view that frequent cabinet meetings would allow ministers to engage in ongoing reviews and make necessary corrections and interventions in real-time. The decision also reflects the government's focus on field-level evaluation of welfare schemes and development projects. Since the Congress-led government assumed office, 17 cabinet meetings have already been conducted. Officials noted that the new schedule would also help align the government machinery with the evolving needs of various sectors, including agriculture, health, education and infrastructure.
