Saia (SAIA) Stock Is Up, What You Need To Know
Shares of freight transportation and logistics provider Saia (NASDAQ:SAIA) jumped 3.7% in the morning session after continued positive momentum following several positive analyst price target revisions. Among the positive revisions, Evercore ISI boosted its price target on Saia to $345.00, giving the stock an "outperform" rating. What Is The Market Telling Us
Saia's shares are quite volatile and have had 19 moves greater than 5% over the last year. In that context, today's move indicates the market considers this news meaningful but not something that would fundamentally change its perception of the business.
The previous big move we wrote about was 5 days ago when the stock dropped 4.2% on the news that an unexpectedly sharp rise in wholesale inflation fueled concerns about rising costs and their impact on corporate profits. The primary catalyst was the July 2025 Producer Price Index (PPI), a measure of inflation at the wholesale level, which jumped 0.9% against forecasts of a 0.2% rise. This represents the most significant monthly increase in over three years, pointing to mounting cost pressures for manufacturers, with tariffs cited as a key factor. This data complicates the Federal Reserve's upcoming interest rate decisions, as persistent inflation may prevent rate cuts, creating a headwind for cyclical sectors like Industrials.
Saia is down 30.5% since the beginning of the year, and at $309.34 per share, it is trading 45.6% below its 52-week high of $569.08 from November 2024. Investors who bought $1,000 worth of Saia's shares 5 years ago would now be looking at an investment worth $2,350.

Why Baidu Stock Wilted on Wednesday
Key Points The Chinese tech industry giant reported its second-quarter results that morning. It posted declines in both revenue and adjusted profitability. 10 stocks we like better than Baidu › Veteran Chinese tech giant Baidu (NASDAQ: BIDU) looked rather tired to equity investors on Wednesday. They didn't seem wowed by the company's latest earnings release and expressed this by collectively trading their American depositary shares (ADS) down by almost 3%. This was a steeper fall than the 0.2% endured by the bellwether S&P 500 index. Top- and bottom-line slides Baidu's second-quarter results, published well before market open that day, revealed that the company's revenue slumped by 4% year over year to 32.7 billion yuan ($4.55 billion). That was slightly below the consensus analyst estimate of 32.9 billion yuan ($4.58 billion). The decline and miss might have been more pronounced had it not been for the company's artificial intelligence (AI)-boosted offerings. Baidu quoted CEO Robin Li as saying that its AI Cloud business "continued to deliver robust and healthy revenue growth, supported by our strengthening full-stack AI capabilities and comprehensive end-to-end AI products and solutions." It didn't help push the bottom line higher, however, as non-GAAP (adjusted) net income fell by 35% to just under 4.8 billion yuan ($668 million). On a per-ADS basis, the company's profitability was 13.58 yuan ($1.89). On the bright side, this was a bit higher than the average analyst estimate of 13.33 yuan ($1.86) per ADS. Motoring into a better future? In its earnings release, Baidu pointed to AI as a potential engine of growth. On the subject of engines, it also clearly has high hopes for the robotaxis coming from its mobility unit, Apollo Go. It said that it is a leading company in robotaxi markets with both left- and right-hand drive regimes. Should you buy stock in Baidu right now? Nvidia Stock Falls Despite Bullish Calls From KeyBanc and Susquehanna
This article first appeared on GuruFocus. Aug 20 Nvidia Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) shares fell about 2.5% on Wednesday morning even as two Wall Street firms raised their price targets ahead of the company's quarterly earnings report next week. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 5 Warning Signs with NVDA. KeyBanc Capital Markets lifted its target on the chipmaker to $215 from $190, while keeping an Overweight rating. Analyst John Vinh said he expects Nvidia to post strong fiscal second-quarter results for July but guide slightly below consensus for the October quarter. He noted that the company's outlook likely excludes revenue from China due to pending license approvals and uncertain timing. According to Vinh, including China could add an incremental $2 billion to $3 billion in sales, driven by the H20 and RTX6000D processors. Susquehanna also raised its price target, moving to $210 from $180, and kept a Positive rating. Analyst Christopher Rolland sees continued momentum across Nvidia's data center business. Consensus estimates call for Nvidia to earn $1.01 per share on revenue of $45.92 billion in the coming quarter. The company is scheduled to release results on Aug. 27. Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP Headed For September Crash? Watch Out, Analyst Warns
Benzinga and Yahoo Finance LLC may earn commission or revenue on some items through the links below. Prominent analyst Benjamin Cowen predicts a correction for Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) and altcoins in September. What Happened: In a podcast on Aug., Cowen warned of a steep September correction across digital assets, citing historical post-halving patterns where July–August strength often flips into September weakness. He drew parallels to 2013, 2017, and 2021, when Bitcoin corrected sharply after summer rallies. Trending: The same firms that backed Uber, Venmo and eBay are investing in this pre-IPO company disrupting a $1.8T market — Cowen expects Bitcoin, which peaked near $124,000 this cycle, to mirror the 2020 run-up when $12,400 marked a temporary high. He said BTC has been "basically flat since early July," with price action echoing prior cycles. According to him, Bitcoin now has "a date with the 20-week SMA or 21-week EMA" taking it close to its bull market support band of $110,000–$115,000. On Ethereum, Cowen sees a brief push to new all-time highs before Bitcoin turns lower, after which ETH could tumble 20–30%. He added that altcoins will suffer deeper 30–50% drawdowns, as liquidity rotates back into BTC Next: Cowen flagged macro risks, warning the Fed's likely September rate cut could spark higher bond yields, just as in 2023, accelerating the selloff. He noted recent PPI data shows inflation "running hotter than expected," further pressuring markets. When the Fed cuts more than likely in September, there's a really good chance that the 10-year yield will likely go up. This mirrors September 2023 when Fed cuts "basically marked a low for the 10-year yield." Bitcoin: ~6% drop to support. Ethereum: 20–30% decline after topping. Altcoins: 30–50% crash.
