Bushra Ansari feels no need to lie about her age
Bushra Ansari has turned 69 years old and she's not shying away from it. In a video shared on her YouTube channel, the veteran took the opportunity of completing another year around the sun to question why age becomes a taboo topic as one grows older.
"I have no problems with my age," she stated. "On a slightly serious note, this is such a weird phenomenon. No matter what age you are, you have many experiences to take from it. It's a learning process. It's all thanks to Allah that despite so many difficulties, I've learned so much. And if I have thankfully been living an active life up to this point, then I should be happy about it."
Bushra, who turned 69 on Thursday, recalled that it was common in her time for people to hide their ages for multiple reasons, from hopes of scoring better roles to securing agreeable marriage proposals. Meanwhile, she once went out on the field, unapologetically carrying her toddler.
"People tend to get conscious when it comes to age, worried even. Actually, age-shaming is also a problematic factor here. People are always telling others to 'act their age'," she observed. "I've said this before. The soul should be young. Why pay attention to the body?"
The Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum actor mentioned that she has seen younger people lacking spirit, adding that living a life filled with joy is a way of expressing gratitude towards life.
"I've never been worried about people finding out about my age. Why shouldn't they? I've been appearing on TV since I was 9 years old. I'm not going to lie to you like other people do, and why should I? Please tell me how that would benefit me. Will I steal Mahira Khan's roles or Hania Aamir's spotlight?" she joked.
Bushra is grateful that she's led a respectable career thus far and hopes that fans pray for her to stay fit through it. "Even those who are bitter towards me should just pray - for me and for themselves to always stay active," she said.
In line with her wishes, fans flooded the comments section with love and prayers. "Happy birthday, Bushra ji! I hope you always keep laughing and smiling like this," one user wrote, while another said, "Masha Allah, you are a very carefree and lively person, someone who stays happy in every state. Happy birthday!"

Hania Aamir calls out IG editor over false claims
Hania Aamir is no longer holding back against accounts spreading misinformation about her. Instagram user and video editor Noor Raiz recently claimed that the Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum star commented under one of his posts, asking for information about a certain product. In a direct response, Hania shared the reel on Instagram Stories, urging her fans to not believe everything they see about her on the internet. "This isn't that serious," she first affirmed. Addressing those making false claims about her, she continued, "But just like this, you people write and say whatever you want, you make up these conversations and believe whatever anyone tells you, and you keep playing amongst yourselves." As a gentle but firm plea, she added, "What are you doing? Fact-check, my loves." The wake-up call comes days after the actor clarified that her public account (@haniaheheofficial) is her one and only Instagram handle, requesting her followers not to interact with any other accounts claiming to be her. "This is the only account I have on Instagram. In case anyone is getting any requests from other accounts posing as me, please report them. Thank you," she wrote. Earlier, the Janaan actor publicly refuted a viral social media post falsely attributed to her in the wake of the attack in Pahalgam. The fake post, which circulated widely across Instagram and X, claimed Hania blamed the Pakistan Army for the attack and appealed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to spare Pakistani civilians in the aftermath. The alleged post, styled to look like an Instagram Story from the actor's account, accused Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, of orchestrating the violence. It also urged the Indian government to differentiate between military decisions and the sentiments of the Pakistani public. But Hania firmly denounced the quote, calling it entirely fabricated and misrepresentative of her views. "Recently, a statement has been falsely attributed to me and is being widely circulated on social media. I want to address this directly: I did not make this statement, and I do not endorse or align with the words being linked to me," she said on her verified Instagram account. "It is entirely fabricated and misrepresents who I am and what I believe." Hania was also among the Pakistani celebrities who condemned the attack, mourning the lives lost though not without defending her country against unverified claims. "In times like these, it's easy to let emotions cloud our judgment," she wrote, "but we must remember: the actions of extremists do not represent an entire nation or its people. Assigning blame without proof only deepens divides and distracts from the real need for compassion, justice, and healing."

Buzz cut and no chill
On Monday, Pakistani actor Naeema Butt shared an Instagram story featuring a doctored photo of her getting her head shaved. The gesture, according to the post, was a tribute to "the people who lost their lives in Pakistan." The original post, shared by an Indian troll read: "Naeema Butt sacrificing her long hair to support the people who lost their lives in Pakistan. PS – she can do this for real." The meme showed Butt with tears in her eyes, holding a chunk of her cut hair, while a man used clippers to shave the rest. The image was particularly jarring given that the actor's long, sleek hair has been the talk of town ever since she played the suave antagonist Rubab in the Hania Aamir and Fahad Mustafa-starrer Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum. In response, Butt added a caption directly addressing the ill attempt at humour. Her reply read: "Wow, look at you man. I'm happy to sacrifice anything for my people and my country, Pakistan. But you guys sacrificed your souls to darkness, harming innocent lives. Your path is destructive; mine is for the greater good." The story was shared widely on social media platforms, with users noting Butt's calm but firm tone. On social media, fans praised Butt's gesture and response. One user commented, "Thank you and appreciated." Another wrote, "What a slap across their faces!" Many also appeared to be confused regarding the image, and what the purpose of such an act could be until other users clarified that it is fake. Deepfakes have become a serious concern in South Asia's entertainment industry, as manipulated clips of popular dramas circulate widely on social media. In March, actor Faysal Quraishi warned about AI-generated videos disrupting narrative integrity, citing audience confusion over fabricated scenes. Viral clips falsely depicting intimate moments between actors in Ishq Murshid and Jaan Nisar sparked outrage and regulatory scrutiny, despite being proven fake.
