Ranking the uniforms in the Women's College World series
The Women's College World Series gets underway on Thursday in Oklahoma City, with eight teams hoping to put their best foot forward in hopes of securing a national championship.
The Oklahoma Sooners are hoping to become the first team to win five straight national titles but will face significant challenges from Texas, Florida, Texas Tech, Tennessee, Oregon, UCLA, and Ole Miss. It's one of the best events in college sports, as over the next week and a half, softball will take center stage. As the teams take the field, so will some iconic uniforms. From classics to alternates, there will be some fantastic fits on display in Oklahoma City. Who has the best?
8. Florida Gators
Florida infielder Mia Williams (11) fields against Georgia during a NCAA super regionals softball game at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, FL on Saturday, May 24, 2025. [Alan Youngblood/Gainesville Sun]
When you think of the Florida Gators, this is what you picture. It's a uniform that looks like something you'd expect out of a team from Florida. It's a solid look but not quite as nice as some of the others in the Women's College World Series.
7. Oregon Ducks
Oregon’s Lyndsey Grein pitches against Weber State during the Eugene NCAA Softball Regional May 17, 2025.
The Oregon football team has some of the best looks in college sports. This is the softball team's best uniform. It looks like a storm's brewing and with the way the Ducks have played this season, it's fitting. The only knock is that the all-green and all-yellow looks don't come together quite like some of the other solids in Oklahoma City.
6. Ole Miss Rebels Powder Blue

There's a lot of blue on the list, but the Ole Miss Powder Blue is about as good as it gets.
5. UCLA Blue and Gold
UCLA Bruins infielder Jordan Woolery (15) celebrates after getting on base Friday, May 9, 2025, during the Big Ten softball tournament game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers at Purdue University’s Bittinger Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana.
UCLA is one of the blue bloods of the sport and their UCLA Blue evokes memories of a long history of success in college softball. They get the blue bump over Ole Miss simply out of respect for what UCLA Blue and Gold have meant to the sport.
4. Texas Longhorns' Icy White
The Texas Longhorns celebrate the 6-5 win over Clemson in game 3 of the NCAA D1 Softball Tournament Super Regional at Red and Charline McCombs Field on Saturday, May 24, 2025 in Austin, Texas.
The all-whites are a great look, and not only because it minimizes the amount of burnt orange one has to see, but it's reminiscent of their best football look as well.
3. Texas Tech's All Black
Texas Tech's NiJaree Canady (24) throws a pitch during the 2025 Phillips 66 Big 12 Softball Championship game between Arizona Wildcats and Texas Tech Red Raiders at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, Saturday, May, 10, 2025.
Few athletic programs wear black as well as Texas Tech. With red script and accents, it's an ominous look, especially when the best pitcher in the game, NiJaree Canady, is standing in the circle.
2. Oklahoma Sooners All-Crimson
Oklahoma infielder Gabbie Garcia (42) celebrates after hitting a two-run home run in the third inning of Game 2 of an NCAA super regional between the University of Oklahoma (OU) and the Alabama Crimson Tide at Love's Field in Norman, Saturday, May 24, 2025.
The Oklahoma Sooners have a lot of really good looks, but none as clean as their all-crimson fit. It's strong and powerful, much like this team.
1. Tennessee Volunteers 'Summitt Blue'
The Tennessee softball team does a cheer with Tennessee softball head coach Karen Weekly after winning a NCAA super regionals softball game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers and advancing to the Women's College World Series at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn., on May 25, 2025. Tennessee won 1-0 against Nebraska.
When you think of Tennessee, you may not think of the blue they wore to clinch their super regional over Nebraska, but their "Summitt Blue," named after the Lady Vols legendary women's basketball coach Pat Summitt, is fantastic. The white accents, along with the orange lettering, are a great look.

Advertisement Five-star safety Jireh Edwards was at Auburn last weekend but the chatter is that Alabama is out front in his recruitment. Former USC four-star linebacker commit Xavier Griffin, an Alabama legacy, will also be there. He's coming off a phenomenal Ohio State trip but the Crimson Tide have the edge there, too. Four-star QB Matt Ponatoski, who wants to play baseball and football in college, is visiting as Alabama, Oregon and others are involved. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH ALABAMA FANS AT CAN AUBURN SHOCK WITH FIVE-STAR QB? Auburn has another big weekend as coach Hugh Freeze has the recruiting train rolling strong on The Plains but the biggest outcome of this entire week could be the Tigers making a serious move with 2027 five-star quarterback Elijah Haven. Advertisement The Baton Rouge (La.) Dunham standout made his first visit to Auburn this week and already said he plans to be back because he loves coach Freeze and position coach Kent Austin. LSU is considered the front-runner and could be tough to beat but Haven has some thinking to do now. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH LSU FANS AT FLIP WATCH AND MORE AT FLORIDA Auburn defensive end commit Hezekiah Harris is coming to Gainesville as he's more seriously looking at some others. Michigan defensive back pledge Brody Jennings and Florida State receiver commit Darryon Williams will be there, too. On top of some major flip candidates, Florida will also have four-star edge rusher Jake Kreul there and while Oklahoma might have the edge and Ohio State blew him away last weekend, the Gators are making a serious move for him. High three-star offensive lineman Chancellor Campbell is coming, too, as Florida and Georgia are engaged in a major battle. Five-star receiver Cederian Morgan is expected and while Florida is a long shot, it gets its chance this weekend. Advertisement SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH FLORIDA FANS AT 1ST AND TEN FLORIDA DL WATCH AT GEORGIA Vodney Cleveland. Dre Quinn. Kendall Guervil. PJ Dean. Ebenezer Ewetade. It's a loaded defensive line list coming to Athens this weekend and it wouldn't be a shock at all to see coach Kirby Smart and his staff close on some of those big names down the stretch. There are some others that Georgia has some work on. Four-star running back Savion Hiter is expected as Ohio State, Tennessee and others are involved there. Four-star, long, athletic defensive back Tamarion Watkins is also expected in Athens as South Carolina could have the edge there. Smart is the best recruiter in college football, though, so another big weekend awaits in Athens. Advertisement SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH GEORGIA FANS AT FAHEY GOES TO BLOOMINGTON One of the last uncommitted quarterbacks in the class is Luke Fahey as Stanford and Indiana are the two front-runners pending a visit to Ohio State later this month. The Mission Viejo, Calif., standout had an excellent visit to Stanford last weekend and it's tough to beat sitting down with general manager Andrew Luck. But there is serious intrigue in the Hoosiers and the opportunity there. Of course, this could all collapse later this month if Ohio State offers but until then it's really a two-team race. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH INDIANA FANS AT THOMALLA BACK AT IOWA STATE Landing a commitment from four-star quarterback Jett Thomalla was a massive recruiting win for Iowa State in April. Keeping him will now be the challenge. The Omaha (Neb.) Millard South standout visited Alabama this weekend and the Crimson Tide want him to return for another trip soon. In between all this, Thomalla will be back in Ames this weekend. Advertisement Alabama is Alabama and the Crimson Tide need a quarterback so that's tempting. But Iowa State recruited Thomalla so well. How this plays out down the stretch will be interesting. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH IOWA STATE FANS AT PREMER WATCH IN LAWRENCE There has been a serious influx of tight end talent from small-town Kansas the last two recruiting cycles. Last time, four-star Linkon Cure from Goodland chose Kansas State over Oregon and others. This recruiting class, Ian Premer from Great Bend (population 14,000) has Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Michigan and Notre Dame as his favorites. Advertisement The talk, though, is that Iowa State has a slight edge over Kansas right now. This will be a crucial weekend for the Jayhawks to turn that tide ever-so-slightly in their favor to keep the talented 6-foot-5 225-pound tight end home. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH KANSAS FANS AT BENTLEY BACK AT OKLAHOMA A better understanding of where everything stands with four-star quarterback Bowe Bentley should occur after this weekend. The Celina, Texas standout was at LSU last weekend and had a fantastic visit with offensive coordinator Joe Sloan and many others. But the word has been that the Sooners hold the edge in his recruitment so it's a big weekend for new offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle and others. The feeling is that Arbuckle wants Bentley in this class so it's a big early test for him in Norman this weekend. Advertisement SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH OKLAHOMA FANS AT MASSIVE WEEKEND IN EUGENE It's been written enough that Oregon has had a tough couple weeks losing quarterback Jonas Williams to USC, five-star quarterback Jared Curtis to Georgia and five-star offensive lineman Jackson Cantwell to Miami. Now is the time for another major recruiting weekend in Eugene where the Ducks could load up. It's a huge list. Five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson is coming back. Five-star defensive end Richard Wesley, who was committed to the Ducks but backed off since those close to him didn't sign off, will be back and that could be huge. Five-star athlete Brandon Arrington will be there as Texas A&M and others battle for him. Coach Dan Lanning is one of the best and weekend like this are becoming the norm. DUCKWORTH BACK TO SOUTH CAROLINA Last weekend, four-star quarterback Landon Duckworth went to Auburn and got a massive recruiting pitch from coach Hugh Freeze. That could be compelling and the Jackson, Ala., standout didn't seem fazed by having Jackson Arnold and Deuce Knight in the QB room. There appears to be enough NIL money to go around. Advertisement There has been some chatter that South Carolina is once again very much in this recruitment (he was committed to the Gamecocks earlier) but Ole Miss is not going away easily. This is a crucial weekend for coach Shane Beamer and his staff. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH SOUTH CAROLINA FANS AT BIG DOGS HEAD TO AUSTIN It's not a massive list but an important group is heading to Texas this weekend and even though there are some long shots, coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff know how to take a big swing. No. 1 running back Ezavier Crowell is coming and even though Alabama will be tough to beat and Georgia is pushing, Texas has always been held high by him. Texas A&M and LSU lead for five-star OL/DL Lamar Brown so it's crucial to get him in Austin and see what they can do. Four-star edge rusher Jamarion Carlton is a big visitor along with four-star cornerback Davon Benjamin among others. Advertisement SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH TEXAS FANS AT BIG OPPORTUNITY AT TEXAS A&M It's a huge weekend at Texas A&M with a ton of opportunities to woo recruits. Fresh off working out at Ole Miss, five-star LSU receiver commit Tristen Keys will be in College Station. So will four-star nickel Bralan Womack, four-star offensive lineman John Turntine, Tank Jones, Tank King and many others. Some big targets - like five-star Lamar Brown - are visiting elsewhere but the Aggies have a huge opportunity this weekend with so many big names. Coach Mike Elko and his staff appear to be on the verge of really turning this thing around. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH TEXAS A&M FANS AT

Ranking Oregon Ducks' 2025 opponents from easiest to toughest, per ESPN FPI
Ranking Oregon Ducks' 2025 opponents from easiest to toughest, per ESPN FPI The Oregon Ducks have a lot to prove entering the 2025 college football season, looking to show that their Big Ten Championship a year ago was far from a fluke while also establishing themselves as national championship contenders once again under Dan Lanning in his fourth year at the helm. It won't be easy to do, with a new-look roster taking over in Eugene and a lot of young and talented players stepping into bigger roles. Fortunately, the Ducks won't have a grueling schedule to deal with. In our most recent ranking of the toughest schedules in the conference, Oregon finds itself in the middle of the pack at No. 11 out of 18 teams. Trips to Penn State, Iowa, and Washington could prove tough, but the Ducks do get the benefit of hosting the likes of Indiana, USC, and Wisconsin. Which of those games will prove to be the toughest, though? While we may have an idea, a tool that was released this week — ESPN's Football Power Index — can help us. For those unfamiliar with ESPN's FPI, it is an index that 'relies on past performance on offense and defense, returning and transfer production and past recruiting data for players on the roster to form a rating.' In essence, it's ESPN's way of declaring the top teams in the nation, looking at their roster, their schedule, their percentage to win each game, and where that ultimately lands them after the season comes to an end. Here's how the FPI see's Oregon's schedule broken down, from the easiest game on the docket to the toughest: No. 12 — Week 1 vs. Montana State Bobcats National FPI Rank: None As an FCS team, Montana State doesn't get an FPI score from ESPN, but don't let that allow you to look past the Bobcats. Last season, they lost to the North Dakota State Bison in the FCS National Championship Game, which was their second loss in the title game since 2021. This is a talented and well-coached team that could surprise someone in Week 1. No. 11 — Week 4 vs. Oregon State Beavers National FPI Rank: No. 80 (-4.5) This may be a great rivalry, but it likely won't be a very great product on the field for quite a while. The two programs appear to be going in different directions thanks to conference realignment. As long as this game continues, we will have traditions staying alive, but as for interesting football, we may be out of luck for a while. No. 10 — Week 3 at Northwestern Wildcats National FPI Rank: No. 74 (-3.6) Northwestern might be a bit better this year than they were in 2024 thanks to a new QB in Preston Stone, but it's hard to imagine that they're going to be giving Oregon a major test this early in the season. No. 9 — Week 2 vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys National FPI Rank: No. 67 (0.3) As far as name brands go, this matchup between Oregon and Oklahoma State is a pretty solid non-conference clash, but based on where the Cowboys stand going into this year and their recent history, it likely won't be too interesting of a game when all is said and done. No. 8 — Week 8 at Rutgers Scarlet Knights National FPI Rank: No. 55 (3.5) Greg Schiano may be able to win some games in the Big Ten this year with a decent roster, but I don't think Rutgers is going to be good enough to give the Ducks any trouble, even across the country on a long road trip. No. 7 — Week 12 vs. Minnesota Golden Gophers National FPI Rank: No. 43 (5.2) I'm interested to see what PJ Fleck can do with the Minnesota roster this year, but with Drake Lindsey under center, they probably won't be among the top teams in the conference, and should be a big underdog on the road at Autzen. No. 6 — Week 11 at Iowa Hawkeyes National FPI Rank: No. 39 (6.3) Iowa will go as far as transfer QB Mark Gronowski can take them this year. He has the talent to be really good for Iowa, coming over from South Dakota State as a high-level FCS QB, but whether or not that's good enough to make the Hawkeyes dangerous in the Big Ten is a different question. Fortunately for Oregon, this game comes later in the season, so there shouldn't be any surprises. For more Iowa news and analysis, check out Hawkeyes Wire! No. 5 — Week 9 vs. Wisconsin Badgers National FPI Rank: No. 38 (6.3) Will Wisconsin be the home that Billy Edwards Jr. needs to reach his ceiling? That's the central question for the Badgers this year. If the answer is yes, then this game late in the season in Eugene might be interesting. If not, I don't think the Ducks will have any trouble with getting a win here. For more Wisconsin news and analysis, check out Badgers Wire! No. 4 — Week 7 vs. Indiana Hoosiers National FPI Rank: No. 31 (8.3) Indiana was the story of the year in the Big Ten last year, and if they can find the same magic in Fernando Mendoza as they did in Kurtis Rourke, then they could once again be a formidable foe. I wouldn't bet against them at this point, but I still think Oregon's talent wins out in this game. It also helps that the Ducks get Curt Cignetti and his squad at home in Eugene. No. 3 — Week 14 at Washington Huskies National FPI Rank: No. 27 (8.8) The Huskies had a down year in 2024 with Jedd Fisch taking over, but don't be surprised to see them bounce back in 2025, with Demond Williams under center and a solid roster around him. I think this game against Washington could be tougher than many Oregon fans want to admit, especially since it will take place up in Seattle, a tough place to play. It should be a fun year in the rivalry, regardless of the outcome. For more Washington news and analysis, check out Huskies Wire! No. 2 — Week 13 vs. USC Trojans National FPI Rank: No. 19 (13.0) Can USC live up to the hype and put together a solid season, or will they once again hover around .500 and have Lincoln Riley's name in hot-seat conversations? That's something that we have to wait and see, but regardless of how good they are, the rivalry with Oregon will be fun to watch late in the year with likely College Football Playoff spots on the line. For more USC news and analysis, check out Trojans Wire! No. 1 — Week 5 at Penn State Nittany Lions National FPI Rank: No. 5 (21.5) This is the game of the year for Oregon and undoubtedly the hardest one on the schedule. A neutral-site game against Penn State would be difficult, but having to travel to Happy Valley and be part of a whiteout game is going to be difficult. The winner of this early-season matchup will be in a great spot to get to the playoff and have an inside track on a spot in the Big Ten Championship. Oklahoma Sooners softball transfer portal tracker for 2025
Oklahoma Sooners softball transfer portal tracker for 2025 The offseason has begun for the Oklahoma Sooners. It was another strong season with Patti Gasso at the helm as the Sooners reached the semifinals of the Women's College World Series. The Sooners were led by a young group of freshmen and sophomores at the top of their lineup. Oklahoma will return eight of the nine players who were everyday inclusions in the lineup for 2026. Still, Gasso is expecting the Sooners to be active in the transfer portal this summer to add to a team that won the SEC title in their first year in the league. They won't need to make a lot of moves, but the moves Oklahoma makes will be impactful. We'll keep track of every portal departure and addition this offseason with our handy transfer portal tracker. Corri Hicks, C Corri Hicks was the No. 2 catcher in the 2024 recruiting class and a five-star prospect. In her one season in Norman, Hicks had three home runs and eight RBIs in 24 games for the Sooners. Maya Bland, OF Maya Bland spent two seasons with the Sooners, working primarily as a pinch runner. In 2025, Bland hit .250 with three home runs and 10 RBIs. Kadey Lee McKay, INF Kadey Lee McKay was the second Oklahoma true freshman to enter the portal in the early stages of the offseason. McKay was considered the No. 52 player in the 2024 cycle. Hannah Coor, OF Hannah Coor was a regular part of the outfield rotation for the Sooners, appearing in 45 games and starting 23 in 2025. She hit .329 with two home runs and 15 RBIs and played a strong defensive outfield for the Sooners.
