My husband was folding our washing the day after our perfect honeymoon – we were so happy but then my world fell apart

A BRIDE was devastated when her new husband killed himself the day after their "perfect" honeymoon - before sending her flowers from beyond the grave.
Isabel Coles married her husband Christopher in September 2024 after meeting on a dating app a year and a half before, and said they were "insanely happy".

As music was a big part of their relationship, the newlyweds chose to go to a beach-front music festival at the iconic Asbury Park in New Jersey, US, for their honeymoon.
"We were so insanely happy and in love," Isabel said.
"We went to the Sea.Here.Now Festival for our honeymoon - it was the perfect way to celebrate our marriage."
But upon returning from the seaside festival, Isabel, 32, said her husband began to act "weird" and refused to tell her what was on his mind.
The 28-year-old is said to have left the house the morning after the honeymoon with a handgun and walked to a nearby forest despite his wife's attempts to stop him.
"In the morning, he was folding laundry and things were a little weird. I asked him what was wrong, and he said 'nothing'," Isabel recalled.
"He went downstairs and tried to get out. I stood at the front door and asked what was going on.
"He got out and started heading towards the woods.
"I ran upstairs to get shoes on and realised he had taken his handgun."
The army veteran was reportedly found by his father the following morning, having taken his own life.
Virginia Giuffre showed 'no signs' she was suicidal as conspiracy rage
"I was shocked, I was devastated," Isabel, from Southern Pines, North Carolina, US, said.
"He was great during our honeymoon, we had a great time.
"My husband was very successful and very driven and motivated and he was such a good person, so looking back I think, ' were there signs? '
"He was very hard on himself, always pushing himself. There were no signs, it did take me really off guard.
"After he passed, I got an overwhelming amount of messages from people saying we looked so happy and that they always wanted what we had."
In a final bizarre twist, Isabel was stunned to receive a bouquet of flowers from Christopher months after his death - as he'd arranged them to be delivered while he would be away with the military.
You're Not Alone
EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide
It doesn't discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It's the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.
Yet it's rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
That is why The Sun launched the You're Not Alone campaign.
The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.
Let's all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others… You're Not Alone.
If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support:

"In February I got a flower delivery from him and I freaked out," she said.
"I contacted the florist and they said he ordered the flowers in September because he knew he would be deployed and travelling back around Valentine's Day."
The mum-of-one shared her story online on a viral video which has gathered almost 40 million views.
Isabel claims some commenters have slammed her for sharing her husband's story and blame her for his death.
There are things I do blame myself for but I don't think we were unhappy or that I did it
Isabel Coles
Isabel now aims to raise awareness about mental health and plans to run the Chicago Marathon in October 2025 to support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
"Everyone wants a reason why," she said.
"No one believes that a smart, handsome, successful man who has a great life wakes up one day and decides to end his life.
"There are people in my life that say I had something to do with it.
"I know it's not true, my husband and I were very happy.
"No one can change that or take that away from me.
"There are things I do blame myself for but I don't think we were unhappy or that I did it.
"He obviously was fighting demons and no one knew about it."
As for how Isabel is coping following her husband's death, she admitted she's "not doing well".
"There's a part of me that is gone forever," she sighed.
"There's still so much that I'm dealing with that make me feel like I'm re-living the moment over and over again which is very tough.
"He didn't do it to hurt me, he wouldn't do anything to hurt me. For whatever reason he probably thought that people would be better off without him."

Devil-worshipping dad carved up stepmum and ate her flesh while daughter slept

WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT. Jamie-Lee Arrow, the daughter of 'Skara Cannibal' Isakin Drabbad, has opened up about her stepmother Helle Christensen's final chilling message before she was butchered in her own home A woman has opened up about the "misery" of growing up with her cannibal father, who committed one of the most atrocious murders in Swedish history. In November 2010, Isakin Drabbad, now 46, slaughtered his girlfriend Helle Christensen by slitting her throat. He then decapitated her and cut away pieces of flesh from her limbs, which he cooked in salt and cannabis leaves before devouring them. ‌ Helle was just 40 years old when she met her horrific end at the hands of her partner, who remains known as the notorious "Skara Cannibal". Drabbad later confessed to the brutal murder and was remanded to a psychiatric hospital following his 2011 conviction. ‌ The crime continues to haunt the historic city of Skara, Sweden, and, for Drabbad's daughter Jamie-Lee Arrow, memories of life with her Satan-obsessed father remain all too vivid. In a new interview with The Sun, Jamie-Lee, who was just nine years old at the time of her stepmother's murder, recalled how Drabbad and Helle had been embroiled in a fierce 24-hour fight beforehand. Sharing her beloved stepmother's final words to her over a fraught family dinner, Jamie-Lee told the publication: '[She said]: 'Enjoy your meal because this is the last time I will cook for you... because Isakin is going to kill me'." It was Jamie Lee's mother who broke the devastating news, and she remembers them both "crying and screaming" as they grappled to come to terms with what had happened. As shared by Jamie Lee, her parents split up when she was still a toddler, and so she split her time between her mum's and dad's separate homes. Entering her dad's apartment, which contained pictures of Friday the 13th and Freddy Krueger, felt "like walking into a horror movie". ‌ Drabbad had a dark obsession with the occult and even tried to get his own daughter involved. Jamie-Lee remembered: 'He often talked about the devil, demons and evil spirits, and when I was little, he liked to introduce me to the other side. 'We would lay in the dark on the bed and he would go, 'Do you see the faces on the wall, can you see them?' Then he would say it so much I would actually start seeing them.' ‌ He would gift her sinister presents, including a satanic bible, and even a Voodoo Doll when she complained about being bullied. Helle's death left Jamie-Lee completely traumatised. She began drinking at an early age and dropped out of school at 15, unable to pursue her childhood dreams of becoming a doctor. Thankfully, at 23, mum-of-two Jamie-Lee has managed to turn her life around, and is now looking forward to marrying her partner of five years. A public speaker and author, Jamie-Lee now inspires others to find a more positive path after enduring serious challenges. Sharing her philosophy on life, Jamie-Lee continued: 'Just because your childhood sucked doesn't mean your entire life has to. We have the power over our own lives and we can create something beautiful even if we came from something ugly.' ‌ In a recent two-hour episode of Evil Lives Here: The Killer Speaks, which aired back in April, a tearful Jamie-Lee was seen bravely confronting her father, telling him: "Do you know how much you have to love someone to still want to see the person who is scaring you to death?" Drabbad replied: "I think it's extremely difficult to have me in your life. You can only see heaven from hell ... I look at you from hell. And I'm sorry." ‌ Detailing her motivation for wanting to be on the show at the time the episode aired, Jamie-Lee told People: "I want people to understand the darkness I came from and that I actually managed to get myself out from under it. I still struggle with feeling like I am my own person and that my dad has got nothing to do with who I am.' Drabbad has now been released from the mental institution, but remains under its supervision. He now hopes for full freedom.

EastEnders star suspended by BBC after disabled slur on Strictly set

EastEnders star suspended by BBC after disabled slur on Strictly set A video emerged of the actor, who plays Jay Brown on the soap, using the term to describe the people of Blackpool, the town where the show was being filmed, The Sun on Sunday first reported (Image: ITV ) EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick has been suspended by the BBC after using a disabled slur on the Strictly Come Dancing set. A video emerged of the actor, who plays Jay Brown on the soap, using the term to describe the people of Blackpool, the town where the show was being filmed, The Sun on Sunday first reported. ‌ Borthwick is said to have made the offensive remark on a phone video while the Strictly cast were at Blackpool Tower Ballroom last November. ‌ A spokesperson for the BBC said: "This language is entirely unacceptable and in no way reflects the values or standards we hold and expect at the BBC. "We have robust processes in place for this." Warren Kirwan, media manager at disability equality charity Scope, said: "Attitudes and language like this are never acceptable. Article continues below "It's not just ignorant and hurtful to disabled people, it has wider consequences. "Negative attitudes hold disabled people back in all areas of life, from getting a job to shopping on the high street. "Mr Borthwick needs to reflect on what he said, educate himself and do better. ‌ "We hope he takes the opportunity to get to know the reality of disabled people's lives." Borthwick won the Strictly 2023 Christmas special with Nancy Xu, and won the best actor gong at the Inside Soap Awards in September that year, with the show recognised with the best storyline for Loving And Losing Lola, about character Lola Pearce-Brown's brain tumour diagnosis. As part of the storyline, Borthwick, as Lola's husband Jay, and Emma Barton, as Honey Mitchell, ran the London Marathon in character in honour of Lola after her death. ‌ His suspension comes after Wynne Evans last week said he had been dropped by the BBC, following an apology saying that he used "inappropriate language" during the launch of the Strictly Come Dancing tour. The Welsh opera singer, 53, known for the insurance advertisements, will no longer be a BBC Radio Wales presenter, he announced on May 30. Earlier this year, he apologised for language that he called "inappropriate and unacceptable" after The Mail On Sunday reported that Evans was heard making a remark to a woman in a video filmed during the Strictly launch event. ‌ It is understood he was given a warning over the remark by tour producers. In January, he said: "I've agreed with the BBC that I'll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing. "I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. ‌ "Apologies to those I won't get to see at the remaining performances and I'm grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me." The singer, who performed in the 25th anniversary of The Phantom Of The Opera and also won 2023's Celebrity MasterChef, told The Sun on Sunday earlier this month that the Strictly comment was not sexual or directed at one of the female cast but was a nickname for fellow contestant Borthwick. He told the paper: "I didn't see the statement, Old Spit-roast Boy was a nickname for Jamie Borthwick. I'm not a bad guy, I'm not a misogynist, I'm not any of these things." ‌ Evans added: "And so I went, 'I'm so sorry'. And that was taken as a formal apology, so the press team issued a statement. I didn't see it. "When I read the apology within the context of the story as it had been written, I was absolutely horrified." The Strictly tour saw contestants of the most recent series return to the dancefloor, including Love Island star Tasha Ghouri, actress Sarah Hadland, JLS singer JB Gill, The X Factor winner Shayne Ward and Gladiators star Montell Douglas.
