Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis Are Obsessed with This Toy Prince William Calls 'Children's Currency'
Kate Middleton and Prince William met with the family of late photographer Liz Hatton at the Buckingham Palace garden party on May 20
The royal couple were gifted a pair of Jellycat plushes by Liz's 9-year-old brother, Mateo, in memory of his sister, who died from a rare cancer in November 2024
The Prince and Princess of Wales invited Liz and her family to Windsor Castle a month before her death, where she crossed an item off her photography 'bucket list' by taking pictures of a royal investitureKate Middleton and Prince William received some very special gifts at the royal garden party this week — and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, will be thrilled to see them!
The Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed thousands of guests to Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, May 20, including a few with whom they share a special connection.
Prince William, 42, and Princess Kate, 43, met with the family of late photographer Liz Hatton, who died at age 17 from cancer in November 2024. The royal couple shook hands and spoke with Liz's parents, Aaron and Vicky Robayna, as well as her 9-year-old brother, Mateo.
It was Mateo who picked out special gifts for the royal couple, presenting them with a pair of Jellycat plushes. The popular line of soft toys was a favorite of Liz's, and her family noted that she would give them to people who 'made her happy.'
Mateo selected a tarte au citron plush for Kate, while William received a pickled onion. It may seem a strange combination, but both foods had special meaning for Liz.
The onion was simple enough to explain: 'Because Liz loved all things pickled,' Vicky told the Daily Mail.
As for the tarte, that hearkened back to when the Prince and Princess of Wales made one of Liz's 'bucket list' wishes come true. They invited her to Windsor Castle in October 2024, following Kate's return to royal work after undergoing her own cancer treatment.
At the time, Liz's cancer had advanced to the point that she struggled to eat, however, the royal couple took pains to present her with something special. When her parents suggested that lemon drizzle cake was a favorite, the royal kitchen presented Liz with one, and she declared it the best she'd ever had.
In lieu of a drizzle cake Jellycat, Mateo thought the tarte a good substitute. His mother proudly told the royals how he had personally chosen each of the Jellycats to remind the royals of his big sister.
'It matches my dress, how did you know?' marveled Kate, who donned a pale yellow dress by Emilia Wickstead and a matching Philip Treacy hat. 'We talked about it. When I see the fish and chips Jellycat, I think of her.'
The gifts made Prince William bring up their three children — Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7. 'My children will love these," he said. "They are children's currency.'

Princess Kate paid tribute to Liz's 'strength and creativity' on International Women's Day on March 8, and when meeting with her family this week, reiterated her commitment to continuing their connection.
'She really made the most of everything. I loved her creativity all the way through,' she marveled to the photographer's family. 'If you need any help fundraising, maybe I can help. Please stay in touch, really.'
As part of her Windsor Castle visit in October 2024, Liz was invited to photograph a royal investiture, marking another item off the photography bucket list that her mother shared on social media a few months before her death.
Following her royal encounter, the teen photographer shared an image of her embracing Kate on her Instagram story
"Such a lovely, genuine and kind people," she wrote. "I'm over the moon that my family and I had this experience."

Woman Labeled 'Pick-Me' for Saying Sister Should Wear 'Sexist' Dress to Rekindle Romance with Husband
A Reddit user is getting hate for supporting her sister's decision to spice up her love life with a revealing dress The sister, Becky, had asked her husband to pick out a dress for her to wear on their next date night — but Becky's friends thought her husband's tastes were "sexist" Becky's sister, on the other hand, figured it wasn't that deep and supported her sister buying the dressA woman is questioning her decision to weigh in on her sister's style. In a post to Reddit's "AITA" forum, a woman recalled a recent shopping trip with her sister Becky and some of their friends. Becky told the group she and her husband were in the "roommate phase," but has been putting in effort to get out of the rut — most recently, she asked her husband to pick out a dress he thought was "sexy," with the intention of her buying it and wearing it to their next date. Becky showed the group the photo her husband sent back, and got a slew of negative reactions. It was a clubbing sort of dress, the woman wrote — a short bodycon number with thin straps, a high slit and a deep neckline. "Like if you Googled 'generic sexy dress,' I bet it would come up," the woman added. The group of friends called her husband's choice "gross and sexist," adding it spoke to his values. Some suggested that Becky's husband thought of her as a "trophy," or that he had a sexist view of women, based on the dress. "I thought this was a huge overreaction. Like ... it's definitely not her style but I didn't think it was THAT bad," the woman said of her sister in the post. "So I told her to just get the dress and stop overthinking it." Just as they condemned the dress, Becky's friends condemned the woman for supporting it. Others in the group called the woman a "pick-me" for not thinking Becky's husband should love her as she is. The woman argued she didn't believe her brother-in-law was trying to change her sister, but the group was adamant. Now, Becky's sister is worried she said the wrong thing — she assumed it was a "support, not solutions" situation, she wrote, but is concerned she approached it incorrectly. Users in the comments widely agreed that the group of friends was overreacting, and the woman wasn't wrong. One argued that the dress was more or less a "fantasy," of which the point "is that it's fantastical." "She didn't ask him, 'How do you want me to dress?' She told him, 'Send me an example of a dress that you find sexy,' " one commenter wrote. "He never asked her to dress like that. She took that challenge upon herself. If she's not up to it, then she shouldn't do it, but that's not his fault or yours." Others noted that Becky's husband's suggestion wasn't unprompted — Becky asked for his opinion. One user said her friends should have supported Becky, who seemed to need a boost of confidence to step into the dress more than anything else. "She said she's trying to save her marriage. It's just a dress — as her friend, I would've hyped her up," another wrote. Read the original article on People

Child of ‘90s bombshell Tia Carrere comes out as transgender: ‘He's his own person'
Tia Carrere is showing unwavering support as her son lives his truth. Carrere, who shot to fame in 1992 for playing Cassandra Wong in the classic comedy 'Wayne's World,' recently revealed that she's proud of her 19-year-old son's major life change. 'He's very matter-of-fact,' the 58-year-old star told People. 'He knows who he is, and he's very happy.' Advertisement 5 Tia Carrere's child has come out as a transgender man. 'He's such a sweetheart, he's like the therapist to all the other kids,' she added of her son, whom she shares with ex-husband Simon Wakelin. 'When his friends go out drinking or partying too hard, he's always the designated driver, that kind of caring friend you can always lean on.' Advertisement But the actress said she won't 'congratulate' herself too much because, 'He's his own person.' The teen, who is Carrere's only child, seemingly has no plans to follow his mother's path in Hollywood. 'He's more introverted, so he definitely won't go into acting or singing like I did,' Carrere added. 5 Jude walked the red carpet at the world premiere of Disney's 'Lilo & Stitch' remake on May 17.
