The evening also highlighted the successful and enduring partnership between Samsonite and Grand Stores, the official sole distributor of Samsonite products in the UAE for the past 44 years.
Samsonite's 115th anniversary celebration marks a bold new chapter for a legendary luggage line that has endured the test of time, captivating travelers with its timeless design and exceptional craftsmanship. The New Streamlite is a modern reimagining of one of Samsonite's most iconic creations—the original Streamlite case from the 1940s!
Introduced as a signature model, the original Streamlite quickly rose to prominence, becoming a cornerstone of Samsonite's legacy. It was celebrated for its pioneering use of lithographed paper, which delivered exceptional printing quality and durability, along with a distinctive leather-look textured finish. This innovation set a new benchmark in luggage design and established Streamlite as a bestseller of its era.
Today, the New Streamlite pays homage to this legacy with a modern twist, blending timeless design with innovation. Its latest iteration incorporates cutting-edge materials and modern engineering to deliver unmatched functionality and durability.
'The New Streamlite is more than just luggage — it is a bridge between past and present, a celebration of our history, and a testament to how design can evolve without losing its soul.
In introducing this new classic, we wanted to preserve the artistry of its past while embracing the possibilities of modern innovation to deliver smarter and more durable designs for our consumers. We are so proud to invite you to be part of this next chapter.' says Henry Yang, Head of Design, Samsonite Asia Pacific.
The New Streamlite collection embodies a profound respect for Samsonite's heritage while embracing the aspirations of modern travelers who seek timeless elegance without compromising on functionality. Thoughtfully crafted, the collection strikes a perfect balance between classic design elements and contemporary features, offering a refined travel experience that blends style with substance.
The collection includes a briefcase and two luggage sizes—Spinner 55 and Spinner 75—available in two elegant color options: Admiral Blue and Bermuda Green. Key product highlights include: • Aero-Trac™ Whirl Suspension Wheel with Ball Bearing: Equipped with Samsonite's latest wheel technology, the luggage features superior integration that minimizes rolling vibration and noise, providing exceptional stability and maneuverability for effortless mobility on any surface. • Framed Exterior Shell: Durable and robust, both the briefcase and luggage feature a TSA-approved lock frame with a one-touch control panel, allowing easy and secure access at all times.
• Interior Lining and Packing Accessories in Heritage Resort Print: Inspired by the traditional English Paisley pattern with a contemporary twist, this unique print enhances the interior with a soft satin fabric that adds a layer of comforting luxury. The thoughtfully designed interiors feature multiple compartments and high-quality packing accessories, including packing cubes and a luggage cover crafted from premium jacquard fabric, ensuring seamless and organized packing.

Goldman Sachs, BNY to offer tokenized money market funds for clients

Wall Street giants Goldman Sachs and BNY are preparing to offer institutional investors access to tokenized money market funds, which could unlock real-time settlement, 24/7 market access and more efficiencies across capital markets. Clients of BNY, the world's largest custodian bank, will soon be able to invest in money market funds whose ownership is recorded directly on Goldman Sachs' private blockchain, according to a Wednesday news release. 'As the financial system transitions toward a more digital, real-time architecture, BNY is committed to enabling scalable and secure solutions that shape the future of finance,' said Laide Majiyagbe, global head of liquidity, financing and collateral at BNY. The initiative includes participation from industry heavyweights including BlackRock, Fidelity Investments and Federated Hermes, along with the asset management arms of Goldman and BNY, per the release. Ban on interest-bearing stables to spur growth in tokenized funds The development comes on the heels of the newly signed GENIUS Act, which established a regulatory framework for stablecoins in the US. The bill, passed last week with more than 300 House votes, bans interest-bearing stablecoins. In contrast, tokenized money market funds offer yield, giving hedge funds, pensions and corporations a new tool to manage idle cash with minimal volatility. In a report last month, Moody's revealed that tokenized short-term funds have grown to $5.7 billion in assets since 2021 amid growing interest from traditional asset managers, insurers and brokerages looking to offer clients access between fiat and digital markets. Typically backed by US Treasurys or other low-risk instruments, these funds function like traditional money market funds but leverage blockchain to issue fractional shares and enable real-time settlement. Race to bring capital markets on blockchain is on Earlier this month, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev detailed plans for 'Robinhood Chain,' an Ethereum-compatible layer 2 on Arbitrum Orbit. The blockchain will let users trade tokenized derivatives of stocks directly on the blockchain, moving asset trading outside traditional exchange hours. In a July 4 report, Galaxy Digital said Robinhood's tokenization move removes assets from traditional market channels and brings them onchain, directly challenging the concentrated liquidity and activity that give major TradFi exchanges like the NYSE their edge.
