An Antiques Roadshow guest and former referee quipped he would have booked Vinnie Jones for "ungentlemanly conduct" after revealing a "one-off" football photograph.

The BBC daytime programme visited Wollaton Hall where expert Raj Bisram encountered a guest eager to display a memorable image from the football world.

The autographed black and white snap featured Wimbledon player Vinnie Jones grasping Newcastle United legend Paul Gascoigne's testicles during a 1988 fixture.
"What an iconic photograph you've brought in," the Roadshow expert declared.
The guest revealed: "I was the referee at that match. It was on my birthday, funnily enough.
"And it was a first division match between Wimble
don and Newcastle United."

The guest then admitted: "I have to admit, I did not see that incident."
Bisram observed: "I mean, if you had seen that incident, obviously, you would have booked Vinnie Jones? For what?".
The visitor chuckled in reply: "Well I suppose it would be for ungentlemanly conduct."

He added: "Monty Fresco of the Daily Mirror took that fantastic photograph.
"When I retired from work, my colleagues, unbeknown to me, got Jones and Gascoigne to sign it for me."

In the left-hand corner, Jones simply wrote to the guest "Be good", while Gascoigne jokingly penned: "Thanks to you, I have lost my family allowance."
Wrapping up the appraisal, Bisram revealed: "I guess if you was to put this on the market today, I would be estimating it would be for between £1,000 and £3,000."
The guest was left speechless, his jaw dropping at the staggering figures as he bit his lip in anticipation.
Bisram added: "I mean, it could go anywhere because it's a one-off. This is one of the most famous photographs of football in history. Thanks for bringing it in."

Tommy Fury left ‘shaking' after facing another injury as he admits 'my career's over'

Tommy Fury was left shaking after facing yet another injury in the ring that could have spelled the end of his career Tommy Fury was left shaking after facing yet another injury in the ring. The boxer, 26, has faced numerous fights over the course of his career but one incident in particular left him with doubts over his future in sport. ‌ In the sixth episode of his BBC docuseries The Good. The Bad. The Fury, it all seems as if one of his latest matches had gone well but then he notices a 'problem' and he was left overcome with worry as it dawned on him that he had sustained a hand injury. ‌ In a confessional, he said: "After I the fight, I took the glove off and it was massive. So that's when the worry started to seep in. Ah f***, my career is over." ‌ The former Love Island star, who famously suffered a hand injury in the past that stopped him boxing and then ultimately spelled the end of his now-rekindled relationship with Molly Mae Hague after he turned to drink, admitted that it felt 'just the same' as it did during that fateful time. He added: "It doesn't feel great, to be honest. It feels exactly the same as it did when it was bad. I can't stop it shaking and it's killing me. I'm just praying that I'm not in the same boat as I was." "The hand is still badly swollen and badly bruised. I'm praying that all the surgery that was done and performed is still intact. I'm praying that nothing has come out or come loose or that nothing is torn or damaged." Tommy was rushed to the doctor and told the cameras that all he could to was 'ask God to be there' with him throughout, and kept hoping that everything would turn out all right in the end. He decided to wait for the results of an MRI scan and 'refused to get into the headspace' of thinking that it was all over for him. ‌ In a moment of reflection, he said: "I won the fight but hopefully I ain't lost the war." As the episode wrapped, Tommy went shopping to welcome Molly and their two-year-old daughter Bambi back home. He said: "At the end of the day, my sole purpose was to get Molly and Bambi back here, back under one roof, back like before. I've had to sortmyself out and put my a*** in gear. They've stuck by me through thick and thin, and I'm so grateful for it." Asked how he felt about the future, he said: "To lose Molly and Bambi again, that's the biggest fear for me. Without training in my life, everything will fall down again. "It's like Jenga, so I guess we will just have to wait and see."

‘What a f***ing mess' – Alan Shearer demands ‘sacking on the spot' after Alexander Isak's bombshell Newcastle statement

ALEXANDER ISAK'S agent should be "sacked on the spot", claims Newcastle legend Alan Shearer. Isak, 25, is locked in a tense stand-off with his club having gone on strike in an attempt to secure a move to Liverpool. The Swede released a bombshell statement last night, claiming that the Toon had "broken promises" over a transfer away. Newcastle swiftly responded, denying that they ever made such a commitment. Toon idol Shearer, 55, has been left baffled by the whole sorry episode. Speaking to Betfair, the former St James' Park hero said: "I mean, oh my God, what a f***ing mess his agent has made of this, honestly. "If I was him, I'd get his agent in a room and sack him on the spot immediately, because he is meant to be giving him the advice to sign that six‑year deal and there's no get‑out clause. I mean, it's ridiculous. "And to take anyone's word in football… it's nonsensical to say that someone said, 'Oh, I'll be able to get out at the end of the season.' Really? I mean, come on." Isak is currently refusing to play or train despite having three years remaining on his lucrative Magpies contract. On the striker's antics, Shearer added: "It doesn't sit right with me, I don't like it. I don't like what (Yoane) Wissa's doing at Brentford, even if Newcastle were to sign him. "It's not a good look on a player or an agent to not go out and train and not go out and play when you have a contract behind you. It's not a good look and it's not a good thing to do." Isak has seemingly burned his bridges at St James' Park. But Shearer still thinks there could be a way back for him in Geordieland. The former England captain continued: "If he were to apologise and get back into the group before the end of the transfer window, then there would be a way back for him. "But if he's still here after the transfer window, I can't see how you come back from that. He clearly wants to get out and is willing to do anything to do that. "The club obviously want what they want and what Eddie (Howe) wants, and they've clearly said that is to have a world‑class player back into their squad for however long. "Maybe that's a season, whatever it is, because Isak needs to be playing football. He can't sit and rot in the reserves for six to twelve months. "It's very, very messy and it's not helping anyone, least of all Eddie Howe and the players, which are the most important thing." Alexander Isak's full statement "I'm proud to be recognised by my fellow professionals with a place in the PFA Premier League Team of the season for 2024-25. "First and foremost I want to thank my teammates and everyone at Newcastle United who has supported me along the way. "I'm not at the ceremony tonight. With everything going on, it didn't feel right to be there. "I've kept quiet for a long time while others have spoken. That silence has allowed people to push their own version of events, even though they know it doesn't reflect what was really said and agreed behind closed doors. "The reality is that promises were made and the club has known my position for a long time. "To now act as if these issues are only emerging is misleading. "When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship can't continue. "That's where things are for me right now – and why change is in the best interests of everyone, not just myself."
