Buckle up, Motorheads fans! The high-octane teen drama that roared onto Prime Video in May 2025 left everyone craving more after its cliffhanger-packed Season 1 finale, 'Redbird.' With street racing, family secrets, and small-town vibes fueling the story, anticipation for Motorheads Season 2 is revving up. Here's the latest scoop on the release date, cast and what to expect from this adrenaline-charged series. Is Motorheads Season 2 Happening? Release Date Rumors
As of August 2025, Prime Video hasn't officially greenlit Motorheads Season 2, but there's plenty of reason to stay hopeful. The show's creator, John A. Norris, dropped a major hint on X, responding to a fan with, 'Season two is written,' signaling that scripts are ready to roll if the streaming giant gives the go-ahead. The series has been a hit, climbing Prime Video's U.S. TV charts, topping the list on May 22 and 23, 2025, and holding strong in the top 10 since its debut. With a 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, fan love is undeniable.
If renewed, production timelines for similar Prime Video shows point to a possible release in late 2026 or early 2027. Filming for Season 1 took place from March to July 2024 in Toronto, Canada, despite delays from the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. A similar schedule could mean fans won't wait too long for more Motorheads action, assuming renewal news drops soon. Keep those engines warm and eyes peeled for updates Motorheads Season 2 Cast: Who's Returning?
The core cast of Motorheads brought heart and grit to the Rust Belt town of Ironwood, Pennsylvania, and most are expected to return if Season 2 gets the green light. Here's who's likely to be back behind the wheel: Michael Cimino as Zac Torres, the street-racing teen unraveling his father's mysterious disappearance.
Melissa Collazo as Caitlyn Torres, Zac's car-loving twin sister who's ready to take on street racing herself.
Ryan Phillippe as Logan Maddox, the former NASCAR driver and auto shop owner with shady ties.
Nathalie Kelley as Samantha, Zac and Caitlyn's mom navigating her past in Ironwood.
Nicolas Cantu as Marcel, the nerdy neighbor and loyal friend to the twins.
Uriah Shelton as Curtis, the young mechanic and Caitlyn's love interest.
Josh Macqueen as Harris, the rival racer whose fate hangs in the balance after a dramatic crash in the Season 1 finale.
Mia Healey as Alicia Whitaker, caught in a complex web with Zac and Harris.
Drake Rodger as Ray, Curtis' older brother, and Johnna Dias-Watson as Kiara Gibbons, Caitlyn's schoolmate with unexplored romantic tension, may also return in recurring roles.
New faces could join the lineup, as Season 1 added recurring players like Matt Lanter and Sophia Esperanza during production. Any casting updates will likely tie into the evolving storylines, especially with new secrets about the Maddox family waiting to be uncovered. Motorheads Season 2 Plot: What's Next for Ironwood?
Motorheads Season 1 floored fans with its mix of heart-pounding races, coming-of-age drama, and a mystery surrounding Christian Maddox's disappearance 17 years ago. The finale left jaws on the floor with a car crash involving Harris and a chilling hint about Christian's fate, setting up juicy plot threads for Season 2. Here's what the next chapter might explore: Zac's Betrayal and Consequences : Zac's involvement in a car heist shocked Alicia, leaving their budding romance on shaky ground. Will she confront him or turn him in? Michael Cimino teased that Zac's choices will change him, impacting his relationships with Alicia and others.
Caitlyn's Racing Journey : Caitlyn helped rebuild her dad's old car in Season 1, and Melissa Collazo hinted at her character hitting the streets as a racer. A sibling rivalry with Zac could heat things up, adding a fun dynamic to their bond.
Harris' Fate : The Season 1 cliffhanger left Harris' survival uncertain after his crash. Josh Macqueen suggested Harris' obsession with beating Zac led to his downfall, but if he returns, he might rethink his priorities.
The Maddox Family Mystery : The search for answers about Christian Maddox's disappearance will likely drive Season 2. Logan's shady deals and Samantha's past could reveal more about the bank heist and Ironwood's struggles.
Alicia and Kiara's Arcs: Mia Healey hinted at a 'complicated' Season 2 for Alicia, torn between her history with Harris and her feelings for Zac. Meanwhile, Caitlyn and Kiara's chemistry could blossom into a deeper storyline, exploring Caitlyn's sexuality further.
The show's strength lies in its balance of high-stakes racing and emotional depth, making the car world accessible even for non-gearheads. Expect Season 2 to dive deeper into Ironwood's financial woes, the teens' ambitions, and the messy ties binding the characters.

This new Prime Video sci-fi thriller just hit No. 2 on the top 10 list — and it has 0% on Rotten Tomatoes

"War of the Worlds," the 2005 Steven Spielberg flick starring Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning, is widely considered a pretty great sci-fi thriller. "War of the Worlds," the 2025 Rich Lee flick starring Ice Cube and Eva Longoria, is seemingly less so, with a rare 0% rating on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes as dismal proof. Released on Prime Video on Wednesday, July 30, the new "War of the Worlds," like the 2005 adaptation, is based on H.G. Wells's 1898 novel of the same name. It stars rapper-actor Ice Cube as a computer security analyst working for the U.S. government who finds his daily life disrupted by an alien attack. Along with its lead, the "bold reimagining" of the classic sci-fi tale also features Eva Longoria, Clark Gregg and Andrea Savage, among others. A few days after its debut on the Amazon streaming service, "War of the Worlds" has hit No. 2 on Prime Video's top 10 list, yet has the distinct "honor" of being one of the worst-reviewed movies so far of 2025. Here's what critics (and audiences) are saying. Directed by Rich Lee with a screenplay by Kenneth A. Golde and Marc Hyman, 2025's "War of the Worlds" centers on Will Radford (Ice Cube), a top cyber-security analyst for Homeland Security, who spends his days tracking potential threats to national security through a mass surveillance program. That is, "until an attack by an unknown entity leads him to question whether the government is hiding something from him… and the rest of the world," reads the official film synopsis, per Prime Video. 'Set against a backdrop of surveillance, mass data collection, and government-tech collusion, the film explores urgent themes of privacy vs. security, family vs. work, and humanity vs. control," the logline continues. "With nods to Orwell's '1984' and powered by a screenlife-style format, this refresh of H.G. Wells' classic novel resonates with today's digital anxieties.' Not even a week into its run on Prime Video, "War of the Worlds" joins the 0% Rotten Tomatoes Club, alongside only 41 other films that have received such a low rating. (The Scott Eastwood-and-Sylvester Stallone crime thriller "Alarum" is the other 2025 title to enter this less-than-coveted club.) It also only has a 12% audience approval rating on the site. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. So, exactly what is so bad about "War of the Worlds"? Well, according to Peter Debruge over at Variety, "The action is limited to glitchy video clips and whatever else might appear on a surveillance expert's screen in a cheap-looking thriller that suggests Amazon Prime as Earth's one-stop solution." Peter Martin at ScreenAnarchy called it "hilariously bad, until it becomes risibly ridiculous," while Todd Jorgenson's Cinemalogue capsule review criticized the 2025 remake for "failing to muster any meaningful suspense from its misguided gimmick." Clearly, it's no critical darling, but "War of the Worlds" is currently ranking No. 1 on Prime Video's top 10 movies list, so it does look like subscribers are tuning in. Will you? The Naked Gun Reboot a 'One-Off' says Star Liam Neeson

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Naked Gun's 2025 reboot will likely be the franchise's last, the film's star Liam Neeson tells Newsweek in an exclusive interview. Why It Matters Neeson's turn as Frank Drebin Jr. in Paramount's reboot of The Naked Gun has reignited interest in slapstick comedies and brought new life to a classic franchise. The film's strong box office performance and overwhelmingly positive critical reception prompted speculation about possible sequels. Liam Neeson attends "The Naked Gun" U.K. premiere at Cineworld Leicester Square on July 22, 2025, in London, England. Liam Neeson attends "The Naked Gun" U.K. premiere at Cineworld Leicester Square on July 22, 2025, in London, Paramount Pictures What To Know The Naked Gun reboot, which was released on Friday, accumulated over $28 million globally on its opening weekend—$17 million in North America and $11.5 million internationally—ranking among the most successful comedy releases of this decade. Despite these numbers and a high score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, Neeson told Newsweek that he doesn't anticipate returning to the role for a sequel. "I think it's a one-off, yeah," Neeson, 73, said of the franchise's future. "And if it succeeds, good." Neeson stars as the son of Leslie Nielsen's iconic character Frank Drebin from the beloved trilogy of the 1980s and 1990s. Co-starring Pamela Anderson and Paul Walter Hauser, the reboot is directed by Akiva Schaffer and produced by Seth MacFarlane. It delivers a barrage of visual gags and slapstick humor reminiscent of the original films while introducing the franchise to a new generation. "I think the film's going to have a few giggles and a few laughs in it, and God, we all need that at the minute," Neeson said. "I think it's probably a one-off. Not that the experience wasn't great, it was. It's terrific, working with Pamela, Danny Huston, all these terrific guys." The reboot's response from critics has been overwhelmingly positive. The Independent's Clarisse Loughrey awarded the film four stars, calling it "a masterclass in buffoonery." Rotten Tomatoes registered a very high rating for the film, making it one of the best-reviewed comedies of the 2020s, per Forbes. The original 1988 film The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! was directed by David Zucker and starred Nielsen, Priscilla Presley and Ricardo Montalban. It grossed over $78 million domestically, per Box Office Mojo, and launched two sequels, solidifying its place as a comedy classic. What People Are Saying Producer Seth MacFarlane said of Neeson's fit for the role, in an interview with The New York Times: "Liam is probably the only actor alive who in the 21st century could play Frank Drebin....[performers like Nielsen] were people who all had that gravitas that when you had them saying absurd things, it was just priceless since there was so much weight to what they were saying. We don't make those kinds of actors in Hollywood anymore." Original franchise director David Zucker voiced disinterest in the reboot in an interview with Fox News Digital: "I don't see any reason to see it." What Happens Next The possibility of a sequel remains uncertain. While strong box office receipts and critical acclaim could prompt studio interest in continuing the rebooted franchise, Neeson's statements suggest fans should not expect him to reprise his role. If the franchise continues, it may do so with new talent. In the meantime, the impact of The Naked Gun's return underscores both the viability of legacy comedy revivals and the enduring appeal of well-executed slapstick.
