Four Singapore steakhouses make it to the list of the world's best steak restaurants for 2025

Time Out07-05-2025
These days, plenty of steak lovers will tell you they'd rather fire up a ribeye at home – it's cheaper, faster, and (they swear) just as tasty. But while home-cooked steaks have their place for fuss-free nights in, several steakhouses in Singapore are making a case for why some experiences are simply worth leaving the house for.
In fact, four Singapore steakhouses have just been named among the World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants for 2025. From prime cuts seared to smoky perfection, to luxe dining rooms that make you want to linger, these steakhouses prove that sometimes, the pros really do it best.
Coming in at the highest spot among other Singapore restaurants on the list is Burnt Ends at #5, an award-winning Australian barbecue joint by chef Dave Pynt, located in Dempsey Hill. The heart of the kitchen is the four-tonne dual cavity wood-fired oven that heats up to 700 degrees celsius, imparting a splendid sear on whatever goes in – a feat you won't achieve in a home kitchen.
The restaurant is no stranger to other global lists of equal prestige, claiming spots in Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2025, La Liste's Top 1000 Restaurants 2025, and so on. What's surprising is that it's Burnt Ends' first time on this list despite having been around since 2013. In any case, the fact that it's the highest new entry on the ranking makes up for it.
Sitting at #53 is Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse, which is a returning entry on the list, and in fact, the only steakhouse in Singapore that made it on the ranking last year. It also clinched the title of the best steakhouse in Asia in 2024. A must-order here is the Bistecca alla Fiorentina, a 1.1 kilogramme behemoth of pure-bred F1 Australian wagyu – great for sharing on special occasions.
Not too far at #59 is a recognised name in Singapore's F&B scene. Cut by Wolfgang Puck is the first Asian outpost of the celebrity-owned brand, set in the cushy environment of Marina Bay Sands. If Bistecca oozes the vibe of a cosy Italian trattoria, Cut's modern dining room is where to go if you're truly looking to impress.
Beyond branding, its claim to fame is an extensive meat selection, ranging from Hokkaido snow beef to Snake River Farms American 'Kobe-style' beef. Everything is seared over charcoal and apple wood, before meeting its maker under a 1200-degree broiler.
Last but not least, an unlikely new entry to the list is Shatoburian, a yakiniku restaurant tucked in Palais Renaissance at Orchard Road. The joint wet ages its premium A5 wagyu from Japan, which are all sourced from credible auction houses. Here's where to savour everything from tender chateaubriand (the cut the restaurant is named after) to misuji (oyster blade) coaxed over flames at sleek tableside grills.
Here's the top 20 list of the 101 best steakhouses in the world for 2025:
1. Parrilla Don Julio from Buenos Aires, Argentina
2. Margaret from Sydney, Australia
3. Laia Erretegia from Hondarribia, Spain
4. I Due Cippi from Sasturnia, Italy
5. Burnt Ends from Singapore
6. Bodega El Capricho from Jiménez de Jamuz, Spain
7. Casa Julián from Tolosa, Spain
8. Lana from Madrid, Spain
9. AG from Stockholm
10. Cote from New York, USA
11. Ibai from London
12. Rockpool Bar & Grill from Sydney, Australia
13. Asador Bastian from Chicago, USA
14. The International from Sydney, Australia
15. Born & Bred from Seoul, South Korea
16. Firedoor from Sydney, Australia
17. La Tête d'Or from New York, USA
18. Victor Churchill from Melbourne, Australia
19. Carcasse from Koksijde, Belgium

Jimmy Kimmel floats move to Europe to 'escape Trump' as liberal late night hosts face harsh rebuke

has revealed he has obtained Italian citizenship as a backup plan to escape Donald Trump 's presidency, after Trump said he was next to be canceled. The 57-year-old late night host made the revelation while appearing on the Sarah Silverman Podcast earlier this week. He said: 'I did get Italian citizenship, I do have that. What's going on is as bad as you thought it was gonna be. 'It's so much worse, it's just unbelievable - I feel like it's probably even worse than he would like it to be.' The news from Kimmel comes after Trump said on Wednesday that he and his fellow late-night host Jimmy Fallon were next to be canceled. The commander-in-chief was asked about rumors that Howard Stern is to part way with Sirius XM, before giving his two cents on both Jimmy Fallon and Kimmel. Inside the Oval Office, he said: 'Fallon has no talent. Kimmel has no talent. They're next. They're going to be going, I hear they're going to be going.' During the same podcast appearance, Kimmel also slammed what he called the 'loud' left for woke cancel culture. The news from Kimmel comes after Trump said on Wednesday that Kimmel and his fellow late-night host Jimmy Fallon were next to be canceled The comedian added: ''It's not the party. It's not the majority. It's the loud voices that scare people from saying what they believe and make you think twice about a joke. 'You know, a lot of their points are valid, but a lot of them are also just repulsive, in that they repel people. 'They go like, "Oh, you're no fun. I don't want to be around you." And I think if you had to boil it down to one thing, that's kind of what it is.' Kimmel and Silverman discussed how Trump supporters who expressed their regret for casting their vote for the president have faced backlash from the left online. Silverman noted the hate that famed podcaster Joe Rogan received after criticizing the president's second term. 'Now you see like these clips of Rogan saying, "Why is he doing this? He shouldn't be deporting people," and people go, "Fuck you, you support him, whatever." 'I don't buy into that. I don't believe the "f*** you, you supported him",' Kimmel added. 'If you wanna change your mind, that's so hard to do. If you want to admit you were wrong, that's hard and so rare to do, you are welcome,' he said. His remarks comes after he found an unlikely ally in Fox News host Greg Gutfeld who lauded him with glowing praise for not being afraid of the left's cancel culture. Gutfeld, who appeared on Fallon's show Thursday night, joked that the pairing was 'the biggest crossover since the Harlem Globetrotters visited "The Golden Girls."' The Fox host dubbed Fallon 'a great, genuine guy who wants to make people laugh instead of putting them to bed angrier than 'The View at a salad bar.' But it was his praise of Fallon's late-night show that grabbed everyone's attention, as he applauded Fallon's ability to break from the typical liberal late-night mold. 'Unlike the other guys, Jimmy doesn't reside in a liberal echo chamber,' Gutfeld said. The industry has been left grappling with uncertainty after Colbert announced last month that his show was being brought to an end next year. CBS said the move to axe Colbert was due to low viewership and a decline in profits, but critics believe the network crumbled under pressure from President Trump. Paramount, which owns CBS, decided to settle for $16 million on a suit over deceptive editing of a 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris filed by Trump. Colbert then used the term 'big fat bribe' to describe the settlement.

Doctor Who star's show dropped from UK streaming service confirms ITV launch

More than a year after it was pulled off Paramount Plus, a mystery drama starring Jodie Whittaker is returning to UK screens. A month after it aired in Australia, the series One Night was made available to UK viewers in November 2024. The six-part series followed friends Tess (Jodie), Simone (Nicole da Silva) and Hat (Yael Stone), whose lives have been changed by 'the traumatic events of one night in their hometown twenty years previously'. It was teased of the show: 'One Night is the story of three women whose bond was all but destroyed by the traumatic events of one night 20 years ago. 'Since then, Simone has harboured secret hopes of becoming a novelist but most of her haphazard attempts have been shoved into her bottom drawer. Now, at the age of 40, she has finally written the one story she could never get out of her mind, and her debut manuscript has become an unexpected overnight success. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. 'But it soon becomes apparent that the devastating story the book tells doesn't exclusively belong to her. At the heart of Simone's novel is a tragedy which also happened to Tess (Jodie Whittaker) and Hat (Yael Stone), her two childhood best friends. 'As it becomes harder to prise fact from fiction, one person's memory and story from another's, the book threatens to derail all their friendships, bringing old traumas to the surface of the small coastal community where they grew up, and stirring its perpetrators, who want to make it all go away.' Despite it being labelled a 'very solid crime drama' by critics, One Night suddenly disappeared from Paramount after just three months. It was explained at the time that this was due to the platform reportedly shifts towards a focus on Hollywood-style content with mass appeal and wider cost-savings efforts. However, ITV has now announced it will be bringing the show back and allowing viewers to tune in again – or for the first time. One Night will now stream in full from Saturday August 16 and will also air that night on ITV1. At the time of its release, The Guardian wrote the following about One Night: 'The overall effect is very much of an Australian Big Little Lies – a female-centred story played out mostly amongst affluent people in shiny clothes and shinier houses.' To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'With strong performances and a diverse cast, it demands attention — but its biggest triumph may just be in the conversations it sparks after its watched,' The London Evening Standard shared. 'The show might have benefitted from unspooling its central narrative over fewer episodes because after the halfway mark the drama becomes less character-driven, skating into crime mystery territory. But the acting throughout One Night is incredible,' The Age added. One Night was the first TV role since playing the first female Doctor for Jodie. Reflecting on what drew her to the project, the 41-year-old actress explained that the drama depicted a story about sexual assault in a way that felt 'completely unique' to her. 'What made this completely unique to me and completely engrossing was the change of POV [point of view],' she told Metro. 'Very often it's told from outside in – there's an investigation, there's detectives, there's people working things out. This is about the decimation something like that can have. 'It's also about how the event – whether it happened a minute ago or 20 years ago – is defining for a group of women that it affects, particularly this friendship group. But also what it's about is how we all survive something like that and who owns memory, who has the right to tell stories, and especially if that story is true.' More Trending One Night was created and written by the award-winning Emily Ballou (The Slap, Taboo) and directed by Catherine Millar (The Twelve, The Secrets She Keeps) and Lisa Matthews (Doctor Doctor). It also stars Kat Stewart, George Mason, Erroll Shand, Noni Hazlehurst, Tina Bursill (Doctor Doctor), William Zappa, Damien Strouthos and Jillian Nguyen. One Night is streaming on ITVX from Saturday August 16. It will air that night at 9.30pm on ITV1. View More » A version of this article was originally published on February 5, 2024. Got a story? Peter Andre left 'feeling sick' as daughter Princess, 18, reveals shocking DMs

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Peter Andre was left horrified when teenage daughter Princess revealed the messages she receives from men on social media. The 18-year-old, whose parents are Australian pop star Peter, 52, and former glamour model Katie Price, 47, is following in her mum and dad's footsteps by venturing into showbiz. Princess has collaborated with fast fashion giants Shein and PrettyLittleThing on Instagram ads and was recently confirmed for her own reality show on ITV. However, the budding influencer, who boasts 774,000 followers on Insta alone, is quickly learning that there's a dark side to being a public figure. In the first episode of her show, The Princess Diaries, doting dad Peter has a candid conversation with her about online trolling, resulting in disgust as Princess digs out some harrowing DMs. 'What ya doing?', Peter asks as they sit together on the sofa, to which she replies: 'Reading comments.' 'People saying they wanna see my feet,' Princess laughs, to which Peter's expression quickly turns to one of concern. 'What? They wanna see your feet? When did this start happening?', he quizzes, taken aback. As Princess says that it's been happening throughout the last year, the Mysterious Girl singer begs: 'Please God, that's the only thing they ask for?' Unfortunately, that isn't the case, as Princess reveals that men have also sent her messages celebrating the fact that she's 'finally legal'. 'You find out who that was, flipping heck!', declares Peter, his head in his hands. Princess then scrolls through her messages to show her dad the reality of being a young female influencer in 2025, hesitant to even expose him to what she's on the receiving end of. 'I don't actually know if I want to show you,' she admits, but tells cameras in a cutaway clip that she 'doesn't want to hide stuff from him'. After digging out one example of 'disgusting' direct messaging, Princess hands her dad the phone, to which he physically recoils. 'I didn't think it was gonna be like that,' he retorts, deeply disturbed. 'Oh my God. 'That really has made me feel sick, like, in the pit of my stomach.' The reality star adds to his daughter: 'I hate it because you're still my baby. How old is this dude? Oh my God, what's his name? Where does he live?' When Princess explains that the individual in question has an anonymous profile, Peter asks whether she feels 'distressed' reading such comments. 'That's life, that's social media,' she states, informing her dad that she can't simply 'get rid of it' because it's now her job. The Insania singer then expresses regret over letting his daughter use social media at a young age, having always felt fearful of the unknown due to the likes of Instagram and TikTok not existing when he started out. Peter has long been protective of Princess, as well as his other kids. He also has Junior, 20, with Katie, as well as Theo, Amelia, and Arabella with wife Emily Andre, 35. However, having a father in the industry has been a huge help to Princess and her brother, who is forging a music career for himself. Speaking ahead of the launch of The Princess Diaries, Junior told This Morning: 'Growing up in the public eye comes with its pros and cons. We keep a lot of things private; people think they know a lot more than they do. 'We're normal and humble; we don't feel different to anyone else. We're all human.' Princess added that while she expects some 'negativity', her parents have taught her 'how to deal with it'. 'There are horrible people, but we just have to deal with it.' More Trending Alas, the launch of the teen's reality show hasn't been without drama, due to reports of her feuding with mum Katie, who claimed she was 'banned' from appearing in the programme. Speaking on her podcast with sister Sophie, the reality icon said she felt 'upset' after allegedly being told she was 'not welcome' on the set. Addressing the speculation, Princess later told the Daily Mail: 'It's my show; it's not based on my parents; it's focused on me. To be honest, there's no rift between me and either of my parents.'
