Shreya Ghoshal Follows Arijit Singh, Calls Off Surat Show In Wake Of Pahalgam Terror Attack

News1825-04-2025

In a heartfelt move following the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, singer Shreya Ghoshal has cancelled her upcoming Surat concert.
Singer Shreya Ghoshal has announced the cancellation of her upcoming concert in Surat, which was part of her All Hearts Tour, following the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The concert was originally scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Indoor Stadium from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Taking to Instagram Stories, the acclaimed vocalist shared an official note with fans, 'In light of the recent and tragic events, the organisers along with the artist have collectively made the decision to cancel the upcoming show scheduled to happen in Surat this Saturday, April 26th. All ticket holders will receive full refunds, and the amount will be automatically refunded back to your original mode of payment. For any queries, write to events@district.in. Thank you for your understanding."
The announcement follows the footsteps of Arijit Singh, who also cancelled his Chennai concert originally scheduled for April 27 at YMCA Ground, Nandanam. Both cancellations come as a mark of respect and solidarity for the victims of the Pahalgam attack, which shook the nation earlier this week.
On April 22, terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists in Baisaran Valley, Pahalgam, killing at least 26 people—including two foreigners—and injuring several others. The heinous act has prompted widespread outrage, leading to the suspension of several public and entertainment events across the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation soon after the attack, offering heartfelt condolences and promising uncompromising justice. 'Terrorism will not go unpunished. Every effort will be made to make sure that justice is done. The entire nation is one in this resolve. Everyone who believes in humanity is with us," the PM stated during a public address. He also thanked global leaders and citizens of other countries who extended their support to India in the wake of the tragedy.
As India mourns the loss of innocent lives, the gesture by artists like Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh reflects the entertainment industry's sensitivity and solidarity during moments of national grief.
