While Matthew Stafford may still be the same man she fell in love with, Kelly confessed that the transition into the professional sports world wasn't entirely seamless. 'I'm not saying he changed as a person,' she admitted. 'He's still the same guy that I've always known when it comes to his personality and the way he is with people and stuff like that. But I will say, there was something that I had to adjust to, which was the more crazy, fun Matthew to the professional Matthew.' The shift from spontaneous nights out to more reserved, structured routines caught her off guard. 'That was something I was thrown off by,' she shared. 'All of a sudden, we couldn't go dancing at the bars and we couldn't do the things I used to love to do... I had to be like, 'OK, this is a change and I'm going to support that change and be with you with it.''

Together, the couple is raising four daughters—Sawyer, Chandler, Hunter, and Tyler—while juggling life in two different NFL cities. However, a recent health scare brought an unexpected jolt into Kelly's life. After completing a routine blood test sponsored by a company she and Matthew partnered with, the results showed 'extremely high' cholesterol levels.
'I got some results back, and my cholesterol is extremely high. It gives you numbers, and it's like above outer range and need to seek medical attention, and I'm in that range,' Kelly said. Despite being visibly fit, the alarming numbers made her rethink her lifestyle.
She openly acknowledged her love for sugar. 'If you guys know me very well, I go to bed with 10 Swedish Fish in my hand at night or hot chocolate,' she said. Even healthy meals, like chicken and rice, are topped with 'Yum Yum sauce,' which is loaded with sugar. The realization has prompted her to take serious steps, especially considering that high cholesterol runs in her family.
'I'm going to spend like a month and kind of like get rid of all the sugar at night situation and go back and retest,' she said. 'And once I do that, I'll let you guys know if it changes. If it doesn't change, I definitely think it's genetic.'
Her story resonates with many. According to the CDC, about 1 in 10 U.S. adults have cholesterol levels above the recommended 200 mg/dL. But Kelly's honesty brings a relatable human element to the often-glamorized life of NFL families.
With plans to get back on track alongside Matthew post-spring break, Kelly is determined to face the challenge head-on. 'From the outside, I feel very in shape, like somewhat in the best shape of my life. But on the inside, those numbers say differently,' she admitted, reminding us all that true wellness goes beyond appearances.
