Fans just learning Thomas Brodie-Sangster's real age after comparing him to legendary actor
Fans are only just learning of Thomas Brodie-Sangster's real age after being compared with another legendary actor. Sangster, an actor from London, is known for his role as Newt in The Maze Runner movie series and as a child actor, he gained recognition for featuring in the hit films Love Actually and Nanny McPhee.
He was born on May 16, 1990 so he is 34 years old. A user on X, @PicturesFoIder, posted side-by-side photos of Sangster and Scottish actor Sean Connery, known for playing James Bond, at the same age and people on the platform couldn't help but notice how different they look.
One user said: 'One smoked cigarettes and the other did not.' Connery, who died on October 31, 2020 at the age of 90, was known to smoke both cigarettes and cigars, on and off-screen. Another added: 'Much more testosterone in men back in Connery's day compared to men today.'
A third chimed in: 'Sean Connery, born 1930, was 34 in 1964 during his James Bond era, known for a rugged lifestyle. Thomas Brodie-Sangster, born 1990, was 34 in 2024, often cast in youthful roles like Love Actually. Lifestyle differences, like Connery's smoking, may explain aging contrast.'
A fourth claimed: 'Sean was smoking heavily from 12 years old on. Drank a lot too. Both age you quickly.'
A fifth user shared: 'I'm 55 and I am only just starting to have lines on my face like Sean at 34, and I could probably undo that without much trouble ( and without botox or surgery). Smoking and drinking age you. Smoking, in particular, messes with your skin.'
Connery was the first actor to play the fictional British secret agent James Bond in motion pictures, starring in seven Bond films between 1962 and 1983. In the original novels by Ian Fleming, James Bond is a heavy smoker, putting away between 60 and 70 cigarettes a day and on screen he doesn't match the sixty-a-day habit in the books, but he does smoke in eleven of the 23 007 films, as reported by Geist.
Much like his fictional character, Connery himself was a heavy smoker. He started his smoking habit when he was a child aged just nine-years-old, according to The Independent.
In 1971, Connery gave a candid interview to The Guardian. He told the newspaper: 'I try not to drink too much because when I do drink I drink too much and too easily. I gave up smoking three years ago' a complete cut-off; when I smoked pot I found that I didn't like it because, although it turned me on all right, it was too much like smoking cigarettes', MI6 Headquarters, the world 's most visited unofficial James Bond 007 website, reported.
In contrast, Sangster lives a private, quiet life in Hertfordshire with his wife Talulah Riley. The pair are focused on building up their farm and growing their own food, as per Hello! Magazine.

But the reality star is buoyed by the support of the public, and her new A List fans. Jamie says: 'Cara Delevingne actually slid into my DMs and she still follows me. 'I should have this message printed and hung up somewhere, she messaged me: 'Obsessed with you!' 'I hope she was screaming at the TV - and I hope she was just as pissed off at my ex-husband as I was.' Jamie was left shocked and heartbroken when she told her husband Dave Hand that she had fallen in love with him, only to be told her feelings were no longer reciprocated. The couple still confirmed their vows at the end of the series, but their marriage had ended by the time the cast got together for a reunion. She says she endured a traumatic 'public humiliation', and she and Dave no longer speak. Cara, 32, has endured her own relationship dramas, having previously been linked to Harry Styles, singer St. Vincent, actress Ashley Benson. She told last year how one 'really horrible breakup' left her so distraught, she had to move in with pal Taylor Swift, telling Interview magazine: 'She looked after me so well." But Cara has happily been in a relationship with singer Leah Mason, known as Minke, since 2022. Jamie now says she could potentially see a future together - though their romance proved tricky as they live in different states in Australia. Jamie says: 'Of course I potentially could see a future with Eliot. We do have a really beautiful friendship - there are a lot of qualities that I would want in a future partner, and I think vice versa. 'We do have a lot of respect for each other but I also think there's probably characteristics that we'd want that we might not have in each other… Married At First Sight Australia Couples 2025 Lauren, 37, Business Owner, and Clint, 43, Pro Golfer Eliot, 35, Business Owner, and Veronica, 32, Personal Trainer/Actor Beth, 28, Salon Manager, and Teejay, 28, Business Development Manager Jacqui, 29, Consultant, and Ryan, 36, Project Manager Morena, 57, DJ/Fitness Instructor, and Tony, 53, Charter Captain Rhi, 34, Account Manager, and Jeff, 39, Electrician Ashleigh, 34, Dance Studio Owner, and Jake, 30, Teacher Awhina, 30, Aged Care Worker, and Adrian, 30, E-Commerce Business Owner Sierah, 31, Financial Associate Advisor, and Billy, 31, Plasterer Jamie, 28, Account Manager, and Dave, 36, Builder Katie, 37, CEO and Tim, 38, Primary School Teacher Carina, 31, Digital Marketing Manager and Paul, 30, Wellness Advisor 'I'm an intense person in a romantic relationship. 'I think this whole experience made me realise that just because they're better than the previous person, doesn't mean they're the person I am supposed to be with. 'I think that's my problem - I try to fit them in the mould. But this time, I'm so close to settling and being unhappy and not having my needs met, that I want to make sure I'm making the right decision the next time round.' But she is open to dating again, adding: "The only romantic interest I've had since Dave has been Eliot so it's been a very, very quiet time - I'm trying to break that habit." Jamie has been approached to appear on other TV shows, and would like to "dip into the cookie jar" of acting, next, too. While in the UK, she has hung out with Baywatch star Pamela Anderson and Taken's Liam Neeson at the Naked Gun premiere in London and appeared on ITV Daytime's Lorraine. 5 Cara slid into Jamie's DMs after watching her on the show Credit: Getty

River Island's new £56 weekend bag looks just like Louis Vuitton's £3.5k holdall
River Island just dropped a new range of bags that are giving Louis Vuitton vibes for a fraction of the price, including a £56 weekend bag to rival the designer's £3.5k holdall Summer is the season of getaways, where it's a sunny holiday abroad or a weekend staycation, which means the need for some great luggage has never been higher. That's why River Island's latest collaboration has come at the perfect time, as it launches its Morgan X River Island collection, featuring a myriad of bags just in time for your next trip. One of the standout pieces in the new collab is the Brown Morgan Lips Monogram Print Holdall Bag, which you can pick up for £56. As well as being a great bag in its own right, it also has a striking resemblance to Louis Vuitton's iconic cherry print LV x TM Keepall Bandoulière 45 Bag, which costs a much pricier £3550. Similar to the designer holdall, the Morgan Lips Monogram Print Holdall Bag comes in a dark chocolate brown colour, with a subtle repeat River Island monogram all over it in a light tan colour. It also features tan details like grab top handles, trim around the edges and buckled straps across the middle. Its stand-out signature design, though, is the lips print done by British artist Morgan Seaford, which appears all across the bag in various shades of red and pink in a hand-painted effect. You can also pick up a floral printed version, which features pink and white flowers and butterflies printed across it. The Morgan Lips Monogram Print Holdall Bag fastens with a zip top to keep everything secure, and even comes with a detachable cross body strap, making it easier to carry – especially when it's full to the brim. It also measures 27cm high, 43cm wide and 26cm deep, giving you plenty of space to pack everything you need for a weekend away. We also spotted some similar styles at Debenhams, with the Ikrush Indigo Checked Print Overnight Bag now on sale down from £50.99 to £33.99 and featuring a two-tone brown checkerboard print very similar to another of Louis Vuitton's designs. If you want something that's a true designer buy without breaking the bank, this Retro Duffel Bag from Tommy Hilfiger is also on sale for £65 down from £78. However if you want to check out the rest of the Morgan X River Island collection, you can pick up everything from cross body and shoulder bags to shopper totes and purses. Each style comes in a variety of different unique painterly designs, so you can add some fun and playfulness to your handbag collection.
