WWE SummerSlam plans in chaos as things 'don't look good' for top star
Just weeks after Liv Morgan was forced on the shelf in a heartbreaking moment, Saturday Night's Main Event saw another devastating injury with major implications for the company's biggest storylines.
Over the weekend, Seth Rollins landed badly on his knee – which he's had issues with in the past – and hobbled to the corner.
After talking to referee Jessika Carr and a member of WWE's medical staff, the bout was cut short and LA Knight picked up a quick win, with reports claiming they 'called an audible' by changing the planned result on the fly.
On Sunday night, after the all-women's Evolution event, boss Paul 'Triple H' Levesque gave a concerning a update on Rollins' immediate future.
'Tomorrow night on Raw, we're gonna head down a new path, and I'm sure somebody here will ask about Seth. I'll just say right now, little bit inconclusive,' he said in a press conference. 'Doesn't look good.'
There had been reports that Rollins was seen backstage at Evolution, walking on crutches with a protective boot.
Levesque noted the current Money In The Bank contract holder was at Evolution to support his wife Becky Lynch as she defended the Women's Intercontinental Championship against Lyra Valkyria and Bayley.
'He came here tonight, he was not going to miss his wife's performance,' he added.
'He's here – or, was here. He'll be in Birmingham[, Alabama] tomorrow with Dr. Dugas. We'll get [an] MRI and hope for the best, see where we can go with that.'
Although the SummerSlam card hasn't been revealed publicly yet, Rollins was expected to play a key role as his group – which includes Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and Paul Heyman – has been heavily involves in several big rivalries.
Levesque hinted at changing plans, as he confirmed a Gauntlet Match for tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw.
After his comments about Rollins, he said: 'In order to see where we go from there, tomorrow there will be a Gauntlet Match on Raw, maybe one of the biggest gauntlet matches we've ever done, I think.'
He announced that Bron will be in the bout along with Knight, Penta, CM Punk and Jey Uso 'to determine who will go to SummerSlam to face GUNTHER for the World Heavyweight Championship'.
The legendary wrestler teased: 'So, big night!'
Thus far, only a handful of matches have been announced for the historic first ever two-night SummerSlam on August 2 and 3. More Trending

The wrestling icon, whose real name is Terry Bollea, died on Thursday morning after suffering a cardiac arrest at his Clearwater mansion in Florida. Reports claim that medics were sent to Hulk's home after getting a call regarding someone suffering an alleged cardiac arrest. Hulk was 71 years old. Hulk shared two children – daughter, Brooke and son Nick – with ex wife Linda Hogan. Days after Hulk's death, Nick posted a carousel of pictures of him and his dad and thanked everyone for reaching out during this "overwhelming and extremely difficult" time. Nick wrote, "Hearing so many kind words and stories about my dad's life, interactions and experiences with everyone has been incredible and comforting. "My dad was the most incredible person I've ever known and will always be my hero. He was the most kind, loving and amazing father anybody could ask for. I feel so blessed to have had the greatest dad in the world. He was not only the best dad but also my mentor and my best friend. "He always has been my best friend and I love him and miss him more than I could ever explain. I thanked him for everything he has ever done for me and told him how much I loved him and hugged him every chance I got. I spent a lot of time with him the past few years after moving back to Florida to be closer to him and I am so grateful for those memories. They are the best moments in my life. "I would do anything to have him back but I know now that he will always be watching over me. I will always remember the lessons and advice he gave me and carry on in a way that I know would make him proud. Thank you for being the best dad in the world and thank you for being my best friend. I love you so much Big Dog and I will miss you forever." On Friday, in the first live event since his death, the WWE remembered Hogan in a poignant memorial before kicking off SmackDown. Wrestling great Triple H, who now works as the company's chief content officer, paid homage to his former colleague before a traditional 10-bell salute was held in his memory. Top WWE SummerSlam match at risk with top star 'blocked from entering US'
A major WWE match announced for SummerSlam 2025 is in serious jeopardy after a top superstar wasn't allowed to travel back to the United States. On the first night of the August 2 and 3 double header, Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul are set to face Randy Orton and Grammy Award-winning singer Jelly Roll in a tag team match. McIntyre, known as the Scottish Warrior, has been back in the UK for a friend's wedding in England over the weekend, but he's now claimed he was stopped from boarding his flight back to the US where he has lived for a number of years. 'There's now a good chance I don't make #SummerSlam,' he captioned a video on X as he talking into his phone camera from a field. 'It's quite a week I've had. You wanna know how it's been capped off? i can't get back into America, They wouldn't let me board my flight,' he said in the video. 'I'm in England still, at my buddy's wedding – what a wedding it was. Planning to go back, train for SummerSlam, but no, no, no, no, I got blocked. **Warning – the below video includes strong language** 'Wife and I walked up to the gate, trying to check in, always goes perfectly fine. Not this time.' McIntyre noted that there was an issue with his documentation, despite never having a problem any of the other times he's been travelling. He continued: ''Drew, you don't have your US passport. I know who you are. I know you've lived there for a long time, I know you're showing me pictures of your US passport, and your global entry. ''I know exactly who you are, your property and the likes. But no, we can't let you in the country buddy. 'So my wife and I panic, we say we've got a sick animal at home, we're good people, we care about our animals, we care about people. In the end, his wife travelled back alone 'against her will' to see their pet cat, while McIntyre had to turn around and leave the airport. Ever the professional, the former world champion used the real life incident to continue his on-screen feud with Jelly Roll. 'Here I am. So what happened, what changed this trip? Jelly Roll. You know somebody, got some connections? You've got your 15 minutes of fame right now, can get away with some stuff? You're hot, soon you will not be, so you're getting it in when you can,' he quipped. 'You realised when I took off my shirt on SmackDown, you went , 'Oh my God! All that aura, I'm screwed!' So you screw up my training for SummerSlam week. More Trending 'Why am I in a field? I don't know what I'm in a field but I can tell you one thing! When this is all over, I'm gonna get back, and I'm gonna drop you Jelly Roll. 'I'm gonna make you pay. And eventually, you're gonna gain all that weight back and you're gonna look like one of these f***ers.' It remains to be seen whether McIntyre will make it back by the the weekend, or if a replacement will need to be found for the match.
