Jim Delahunt runs the rule over Rangers vs Dundee, Celtic's trip to Aberdeen, all the weekend action plus his acca
Stephen Robinson's side looked like earning a second successive draw at Celtic Park before a deflected shot denied them a point and the home side were dragging the ball to the corner flag to waste time late on.

Motherwell earned a well-deserved point against Rangers

Saints completed a third successive top-six finish last term and only just missed out on European football, but that's allowed the players to score 12 goals in the League Cup and book next Saturday's home tie against Hearts.
Motherwell warmed to their task against a ropey Rangers side last weekend but Jens Berthel Askou says he only has one fit striker in Apostolus Stamatelopoulos and Saints can take advantage.
Aussie midfielder Keanu Baccus has returned to Saints from Mansfield to boost the Paisley options, but last week's players kept Celtic at bay for 87 minutes and they're fully capable of turning their attentions to banking an early home win.
LIVINGSTON came back from two goals down to earn a draw at Kilmarnock last week and Davie Martindale's side can boost their tally to four points with a win over visiting Championship winners Falkirk.
The two promoted sides are no strangers to one another after battling it out four times last season and it's Livingston who took 10 of the available 12 points as the Bairns saw off everyone else on the way to the title.
Both teams will be very similar to last term as the bosses juggle options before the end of the transfer window and Livi's familiarity with their new surface can give them an edge to win this one at 13/8.
I've dealt with the other four Premiership matches elsewhere and four homes with St Mirren, Livingston, Rangers and Hibs pays out at 9/1 with the two away tips, Celtic and Hearts making up a 6-timer paying out at 26/1.
It's difficult to call the match of the day in the Championship despite Ross County and St Johnstone hogging the Friday night spotlight but I'm backing AYR to beat Raith and DUNFERMLINE to get the better of Airdrie.
I honestly thought Ayr would be odds-on to beat Rovers at Somerset so the general 11/10 gets Scott Brown's side into the Acca, but Neil Lennon's players will be slight odds-on to beat the Diamonds at 10/11 and the Pars' League Cup form gives them the edge.
Partick against Morton looks draw material at 21/10 and I'm taking the same view about Queen's Park at home to Arbroath at 23/10 after both sides banked a point against Raith and Ayr last weekend.
Shocking moment footballer collapses after he is hit in privates by firework as players run for cover
STENHOUSEMUIR gave Alloa plenty to think about last weekend before going down 2-1 and they're back at Ochilview against a wobbly Cove Rangers at a very generous 2/1.
It's a look-and-learn brief for the first weekend of the Championship in England but DONCASTER (17/20) and STOCKPORT (19/20) gave us a good start to League One last weekend and I'm backing James Challoner's County to win again away to Wycombe.
Wanderers' Kazakhstan millions didn't kick-in for last week's opening day defeat at Bradford but STOCKPORT chased home Birmingham and Wrexham last season and the Hatters can make it two from two at 17/10.
League Two MK DONS could only manage an opening day goalless draw with Oldham but expectations might have been overly high for that one and Paul Warne's side look well worth a second chance to get a first win at 13/8
Saturday SINGLE
STENHOUSEMUIR only went down 1-0 at home to Motherwell last month and last week's good show against Alloa points to 2/1 success against Cove Rangers today.
Weekend ACCA
No losers last week but three draws killed the bet. All five teams winning this weekend pays out at 33/1
St Mirren 21/20
Livingston 13/8
Ayr 11/10
Stockport 17/10
Rangers 1/7
RANGERS V DUNDEE 5.45pm Premier Sports
Russell Martin's players will take a 3-0 lead to Plzen on Tuesday and that cushion should ensure the home side can concentrate on justifying their position as the shortest price on Saturday's coupon.
2/13 and 1/7 is the price for punters to top their afternoon accas in the 5.30 kick-off and everything we've seen and heard from Dundee would point to that 14% top-up looking safe enough.
The new Ibrox boss read the riot act after last week's draw at Motherwell and it's almost unthinkable that Rangers could slip up after a superb midweek performance against Viktoria.
ABERDEEN V CELTIC Sunday 12.30pm Sky Sports
I didn't fancy the Dons at Tynecastle last week but the cup winners are back on home soil against the champions and the 6/1 chances can get on the scoresheet at least with BTTS at 7/10.
Celtic landed last week's recommendation of winning to NIL at Evens against St Mirren and while they needed most of the game to score, Saints were doughty opponents on day one.
Celtic are general 2/5 shots with Bet 365 best at 4/9 and winning-goal substitute Luke McCowan can probably rely on some of the more heavy hitters to earn Celtic all three points at Pittodrie.
DUNDEE UTD V HEARTS Sunday 3pm
United have set themselves up for further Conference League progression after Thursday's 2-2 draw in Vienna but the 3/1 Terrors could fine Hearts too strong at Tannadice on Sunday.
Derek McInnes' new-look Jambos landed the money for us with last weekend's win over Aberdeen at 11/10 and that fifth successive win can tee up a sixth on Tayside.
Jim Goodwin's players were clawed back twice to draw 2-2 at Falkirk last week and I fancy Hearts to keep new investor Tony Bloom happy with another three points at 10/11.
HIBERNIAN V KILMARNOCK Sunday 3pm
I tipped Hibs at 4/5 to win at Dundee last week and two goals from Martin Boyle in Belgrade will have the home fans rocking for Sunday's visit of Kilmarnock.
Killie were pegged back by Livingston after going 2-0 up at Rugby Park last weekend and George Stanger's red card will keep him out of what already looked a tough trip to Easter Road.
David Gray will have to balance this game with Thursday night's visit of Partizan but their two-goal Euro cushion is better than they could have wished for and Hibs can bank another three points here at 7/10.

St Mirren 0-0 Motherwell: What Robinson said
St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "It was a poor game overall. We certainly weren't at our best today. "Motherwell passed the ball around a lot in their own half of the pitch without really getting anywhere and I take responsibility for it."We overthought the press a little bit and they were expecting us to press with real positivity and I don't think we did. But I take the blame for that. We probably complicated it a little bit. On the ball, as a group, we can be a lot better."But we still had the best chances of the game and arguably should win the game. There's improvement all round. Keanu Baccus was excellent. I thought Miguel Freckleton was excellent as well. Some good performances and others that can be a lot better, which they know."We knew they'd play a lot at the back. I imagine they expected us to press them more aggressively than what we did and, as I say, I take full responsibility for that. I may have complicated that a little bit more than we needed to, instead of just pressing in a straight line. We'd spoken about that at half-time. It was better in the second half."We took the ball off them on lots of occasions, high up the pitch, but we didn't take advantage of that press, unfortunately, and probably a draw is a fair result in the outcome."Even though we didn't play well, there was half-chances, there was decent chances. Our decision-making as a group has to be better and will be better."We're a more creative team than what we showed and players will play better than what they showed today. We know that. But, all in all, we take a point."

St Mirren 0-0 Motherwell: What Askou said
Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou told BBC Scotland: "We did amazing, the two centre-backs were outstanding, totally cancelled their game and it felt like we won almost every second ball in the game. A big performance."We know we have to be more effective and some of the opportunities we had. We had not many - a few - they also had a few, mainly on set pieces and a few shots from distance which Calum dealt with perfectly."But we played some really good football at times in difficult conditions. The pitch is actually really, really good but obviously it was dry in the first half and a lot of wind from all sorts of directions so there were some odd situations now and then when the ball went up in the air that were hard to judge. "But I think, again, fantastic performance, fantastic support, 900 Motherwell fans coming here and supporting us."On struggles in front of goal: "I wouldn't call it a lack of creativity, I thought we tried different stuff but also we have to give credit to St Mirren as well. It's a team that's been in top six the last two years and you saw last time against Celtic that they also had difficulty in opening them up."It's a team that's going to be very hard to beat, they're well organised, they're good one against one, they have a fantastic defensive mindset and so we knew it was going to be difficult to get the chances, to play the chances really big. "We tried our best and we know we need to improve in that phase and get even sharper, and had we been a little bit sharper in a few of these situations today, we could also have decided the game and made it tip our way. We'll keep working on that of course."

Championship roundup: Langstaff earns Millwall late victory at Norwich
Macaulay Langstaff made an instant impact from the bench as Millwall opened their Championship campaign with an excellent 2-1 win at Norwich. Introduced as an 80th-minute substitute with the game delicately poised, Langstaff took less than three minutes to make his presence felt with a cool finish to settle a keenly contested encounter. After a cagey first half the Lions quickly took the lead after the break with a fine finish from Camiel Neghli, only for a mistake from the goalkeeper Steven Benda to hand Josh Sargent an equaliser four minutes later. Norwich, hoping to make it a winning start for Liam Manning, looked the more likely to take all three points after that, but it was the Lions who had the final say to make it a happy return to Norfolk for Alex Neil, who had two years in charge at Carrow Road from 2015-17. The summer signing Harvey Knibbs scored a stoppage-time winner for Charlton as last season's League One playoff winners made it a losing start for the new Watford head coach, Paulo Pezzolano. The 26-year-old pounced from Conor Coventry's corner deep to the back post in the closing moments. Charlton remain unbeaten at home since 3 December and have won 14 and drawn three of their past 17 matches, including the playoff semi-final second leg, under Nathan Jones. The other victors at lunchtime were Southampton, who came from behind to beat Wrexham 2-1 at home. The division's other Welsh side also lost, Swansea going down 1-0 at Middlesbrough. Ryan Mason made a winning start as West Brom head coach with a 1-0 victory over Blackburn in their season opener at the Hawthorns. Isaac Price's 15th-minute goal gave Albion a deserved victory, with Aune Heggebø and Price again going close, while Blackburn's only serious threat came from Yuki Ohashi's saved shot. The hosts ended the match with 10 men after Darnell Furlong was sent off at the death. The Australian Adrian Segecic scored on his debut to give Portsmouth a 1-0 victory in a fiercely contested encounter at Oxford. The summer signing from. Sydney FC struck in the 38th minute with a sharp follow-up finish after Jamie Cumming saved from Colby Bishop, who had broken clear from Cameron Brannagan's poor backpass. Pompey are now unbeaten in their last eight league games against the U's. Milutin Osmajic's equaliser earned Preston an opening-day point in a 1-1 draw at QPR in the west London side's first match under Julien Stéphan. Osmajic hauled Preston level after Ben Whiteman's first-half own goal. Coventry and Hull drew 0-0 at the Coventry Building Society Arena. The closest either side came to breaking the deadlock was when Milan van Ewijk's long-range effort struck the woodwork for the hosts in the second half. The result represents a decent return for the Tigers, who went through a chaotic summer in which they were briefly put under a transfer embargo. This story will be updated
