As part of the brand's efforts to reach out to more people, the G-Shock special website 'Women Of Our Time' has been dedicated to highlighting exceptional women across diverse fields, women who are pursuing their dreams with confidence, challenge the status quo and explores their relationship with time.
The site includes videos examining the driving force that motivates five women working in different arenas: actor/dancer Bambi Naka; rapper MFS; members of the street dance team Rushball – Kyoka and Maika; and artist/illustrator Itabamoe, who created the visuals for this G-Shock watch.
The videos convey the resilient spirit and hard work these women demonstrated to overcome setbacks on the way to their impressive accomplishments.
Bambi boasts an illustrious career spanning over 20 years.
MFS is featured on G-Shock's special website Women Of Our Time.
She has worked with artistes such as Miliyah Kato, BoA and Ringo Sheena, and in 2015, joined Madonna's world tour as a backup dancer.
Naka has been featured extensively in magazines, commercials, music videos, and events, achieving global recognition.
In 2018, she retired as a dancer and shifted her focus to acting. And in 2024, she garnered yet more attention with her role in the Netflix series House of Ninjas.
Tokyo-born-and-based rapper MFS is a member of the Osaka-based hip-hop collective Tha Jointz.
In 2022, her song BOW was featured in the popular game Overwatch 2 and became a worldwide hit, reaching No. 1 in the United States, Britain, Canada, Germany, France, Austria and Spotify's Viral Songs Global.
Bambi Naka is an actor and dancer, with a career spanning 20 years.
Her notable fashion sense has also led to various modelling offers and participation in projects with brands such as Adidas and Balenciaga.
Maika and Kyoka formed the street dance team Rushball in June 2004 and earned accolades, establishing themselves as iconic 'super kid' dancers.
They gained recognition on the global stage, excelling in the hip hop category.
In 2016, they made history as the first Japanese team to win the Juste Debout in France.
The fifth woman in focus is Itabamoe, who was born in Japan's Shizuoka prefecture and started doing illustration in advertising before embarking on her artistic career in 2021.
Using a technique inspired by enlarged magazine photocopies, the Tokyo-based Itabamoe tells stories through visual language.

Casio states that the G-Shock brand stands for a world where women can aspire to be anything and anyone they want to be.

NORQAIN & G-SHOCK's Dope New Drops Are Giving Ice Cream & Ocean Vibes
Looking to level up your wrist game? From exclusive pieces that scream summer, to dazzling creations that'll give you a summer glow-up – here are two timepiece drops that'll make you the main character. NORQAIN Freedom 60 Chrono 'Enjoy Life' Edition NORQAIN's new 'Enjoy Life' version for the Freedom 60 Chrono 40mm is a vibrant outlier in a watch industry that frequently honours tradition and heritage with a respectful silence. It's a mechanical watch that dares to seem buoyant without compromising the engineering that powers it. The dial itself has the feel of a moving gelato counter. The subdials are anchored by three ice cream-sherbet tones: green, pink, and blue. The entire amusing image is framed by a black tachymeter ring. The eye-catcher, however, is the date window: on five dates per month, the numerals are replaced by an image of a triple-scoop cone – the kind of decadence that instantly takes you back to your early years. The watch depends on more than just visual innovation. The Swiss-made NORQAIN calibre N19, which has a 62-hour power reserve, manages timekeeping with discipline behind the dial. The 40mm-diameter 316L stainless steel case is water-resistant up to 100 meters and has been carefully polished and brushed. At its core, this is still a tool watch – the only one that has been permitted to have a relatable personality. The motto, 'Enjoy Life,' is engraved on the sapphire glass of the caseback and is visible when you turn it over. Instead of presenting itself as an aspirational luxury item, it plays into the notion that, like ice cream, time is something to be cherished. NORQAIN also capitalised on the watch's personality when they first unveiled it. Starting with a formal shopping event and concluding with a pool party, the launch was held in Las Vegas. Instead of trying to dress up the watch to fit a certain event, they let the event fit the piece's fun and laid-back vibe. This model offers some design reflection in the context of luxury timepieces, where restraint and formality are frequently confused with seriousness. What if happiness was just as essential to design as accuracy? What if innovation and nostalgia were seated at the same table? The 'Enjoy Life' edition is all about the ordinary rather than pushing the limits of high-end watchmaking. It's for creating fashionable and unforgettable summer days. In the warmer months, mix it with a light suit for dressier dinner gatherings or use it to round off casual ensembles. However, keep the colours mild in tone. The Freedom 60 Chrono 40mm Enjoy Life Special Edition retails for RM21,670 a piece. If you'd like to purchase one for yourself, visit NORQAIN's official website. G-SHOCK's Hidden Glow Vol. 2 Collection G-SHOCK has released the next chapter in its highly popular watch series, the Hidden Glow Vol. 2: Sea of Stars. With its inventive dial designs, the six-piece collection, which includes models from the GA-2100, GA-110, GA-700, and DW-6900 series, captures the mystery of bioluminescent tides and is inspired by the summer sea. Made from resin parts impregnated with a unique phosphorescent substance, each watch has an eye-catching blue phosphorescent dial. When used all over the dial or just in certain places, this substance gives out a soft blue light in the dark that is evocative of plankton glinting in moonlight. This ethereal light creates an elegant and eye-catching design by fusing G-SHOCK's distinctive ruggedness with an ocean-inspired accent. The sophisticated white and blue colour scheme of the bio-based resin complements the phosphorescent dials, which depict the coastline's organic change. Each model offers G-SHOCK's well-known performance and durability, including LED lighting for the best vision in low light, while capturing the vibrant mood of coastal summer living. In addition, the clocks have a 200-meter water resistance, a stopwatch, a countdown timer, five daily alarms, a 12- or 24-hour time format, and a shock-resistant construction. The Hidden Glow Vol. 2: Sea of Stars collection is now available for purchase via G-SHOCK's website as well as select retailers, with prices ranging from US$110 (~RM466) to US$140 (~RM593). Squid Game back in Season 3, more intense than ever, director hints at possibility of spin-offs
SEOUL: 'Squid Game' coming to an end with third and final season, set to premiere June 27 on Netflix. As anticipation builds, series director Hwang Dong-hyuk and key cast members opened up about what fans can expect — and how they're addressing both the shortcomings of Season 2 and the headline-making spoiler leaks that surfaced ahead of the new season. Season 3 picks up in the aftermath of Season 2's events, following Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) as he grapples with his failed attempt at rebellion. Meanwhile, Frontman (Lee Byung-hun), who infiltrated the games in Season 2 as a participant, returns to his role as the unfeeling, calculating mastermind behind the deadly competition, setting the stage for his face-off with Gi-hun. Speaking at a press conference in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, Lee Byung-hun previewed the evolving dynamic between the two characters in the final chapter. "Gi-hun falls into a state of deep helplessness after witnessing his closest friend being killed by the Frontman. But he regains his resolve, returning to his original intention to dismantle the entire system while still holding onto his belief in humanity. With this determination, he starts planning again. Seeing Gi-hun's renewed resolve, the Frontman also begins devising new plans," Lee said. "If we consider Seasons 2 and 3 as telling one continuous story, Season 3 will deliver the climax and conclusion, the final act of the narrative. From a dramatic standpoint, it will inevitably feel very intense. In a sense, this will be the story where the full-fledged confrontation between the Frontman and Gi-hun truly unfolds," he added. For Hwang, the saga of 'Squid Game' is about posing questions rather than prescribing answers. "Rather than delivering a message like, 'This is how it is. You should think about it this way,' what I wanted to offer through Seasons 2 and 3 was a question," he explained. "In today's capitalist society, where excessive competition and the constant stimulation of human desire lead to feelings of frustration and defeat, can we, as humans, create a better future? Can we offer the next generation a better, more sustainable world? That is the question I wanted to raise." While 'Squid Game' Season 1 was a worldwide success, earning a Primetime Emmy and becoming Netflix's most-watched non-English-language series, Season 2 drew more mixed reactions, with critics citing its lack of narrative cohesion, drawn-out pacing and unresolved plotlines. Addressing the critiques, Hwang was candid about the production process of the final season. "As most of you know, Seasons 2 and 3 were written, filmed, and produced all at once. We couldn't change Season 3 based on the reactions to Season 2. Nothing has changed in that regard. Since Season 2 ended without fully wrapping up the story arcs or character narratives, I think much of the disappointment people felt will likely be resolved when they watch Season 3," he said. As for the future of the franchise, Hwang made it clear that this is the definitive conclusion — at least for now. "I have no plans to make Season 4. This was something fully discussed and agreed upon with Netflix while working on Season 3. Once you watch Season 3, you'll see that while a Season 4 could be made, it doesn't necessarily need to be. (But) that doesn't mean I'll never return to 'Squid Game' in the future.... I'm not planning to make anything related to 'Squid Game' right away, though I am considering the possibility of doing a spinoff," he said. The road to the final season was not without controversy. Between the release of Season 2 and the upcoming release, key cast members Park Sung-hoon and Park Gyu-young became embroiled in social media scandals after Park Sung-hoon shared pornographic content related to 'Squid Game,' and Park Gyu-young uploaded a supposedly key Season 3 twist, which hinted that Lee Jin-wook's character, whose death was not confirmed in Season 2, may return. Regarding the spoilers, Hwang said he chose to "treat it as an unfortunate incident and let it go." "I hope they'll see (the spoilers) as a small mistake. There's plenty of fun in the show that won't be spoiled by this, so when you watch it, you'll probably feel, 'Oh, that wasn't such a big deal after all.'" - The Korea Herald/ANN
