UAE's Fujairah marine fuel sales hit record lows in February
Volumes, excluding lubricants, totalled 554,117 cubic metres (about 549,000 metric tons) for February, showed latest Fujairah Oil Industry Zone (FOIZ) data published by S&P Global Commodity Insights.
The decline reflects slower refuelling demand at key bunker ports in the year so far, against a backdrop of global shipping uncertainty. Sales at top bunker port Singapore also softened recently, hitting its lowest in 20 months.
Volumes at Fujairah fell month-on-month for the key bunker grades, the FOIZ data showed.
Sales of 380-cst high-sulphur marine fuel dipped 2% from January to about 143,000 cubic metres in February, while low-sulphur marine fuel sales, including low-sulphur fuel oils and marine gasoils, fell 7.2% to about 412,000 cubic metres.
Some demand was diverted to other ports in the region including Khor Fakkan and Jebel Ali, offering more competitive prices in some instances, a Dubai-based trading source said.
The market share of high-sulphur bunkers narrowed to 26% in February, compared with 29% in January. Low-sulphur bunkers' share widened to 74% versus 71%.

Hamdan bin Mohammed visits ‘Dubai Dates' exhibition

Dubai traffic to ease: RTA opens new exit to cut peak-hour travel times
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will open a new exit from the collector road in early August for vehicles travelling from Financial Centre Street towards Ras Al Khor Road, near Bu Kadra Interchange. The improvement forms part of RTA's Rapid Traffic Solutions Plan, which aims to enhance road network efficiency and improve traffic flow in Ras Al Khor area. The area borders several developments, commercial zones, and industrial zones. The new exit improves traffic movement at Bu Kadra Interchange by reducing travel time for vehicles using the collector road from Financial Centre Street towards Ras Al Khor Road. The improvement also eases congestion for vehicles heading towards Dubai–Al Ain Road. Peak-hour travel time has been cut by 54 per cent, from 13 minutes to 6 minutes, as a result of the new exit. The development complements a series of traffic improvements in Ras Al Khor area. Exit 25 from Ras Al Khor Road to Al Khail Road in the direction of Al Meydan Street was widened from a single lane to two lanes over a 500-metre stretch. The upgrade doubled capacity to 3,000 vehicles per hour, reducing queues and cutting peak-period travel time from 7 minutes to 4 minutes. This has improved traffic flow at the junction.

The UAE Cabinet has approved a resolution to reorganise the UAE Gender Balance Council, chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The move aims to enhance participation of all community segments in the nation's development journey, promote equal opportunities, and solidify the Emirates' position as a model for gender balance. The resolution expands the Council's scope and strengthens its roles by developing legislative and regulatory frameworks to advance gender balance across government and private sectors. This aligns with the country's vision and boosts its position in global indices. UAE Cabinet approves reorganisation of Gender Balance Council The Council aims to achieve gender balance and equal opportunities across all sectors in the UAE, support men's and women's contributions to sustainable development, and ensure harmony with national priorities related to family, motherhood, and community. It seeks to position the Emirates as a role model for gender equality whilst enhancing coordination among federal and concerned entities.
