Head of sports Nica Stadtlander explained that, when she started at the school, as the head of sport seven years ago, they didn't have the mini hockey event. 'I brought it in, and now the little ones have this tournament every year.
'We invite new schools every year, and this year's event went quite well. All the boys, and all the girls, are playing each other once, so we had four games per school. It's a development for the kids.'
The youngsters were monitored by umpires and coaches, ensuring they were safe at all times during the 10-minute games, featuring one exciting half.
Stadtlander added that she is excited that they have finally opened the new court. 'We've been talking about this for about two to three years. Now, during the hockey season, it's open for games and practices, and the kids are loving it.'

Update on two Kaizer Chiefs players
Kaizer Chiefs are set to welcome back two key figures in their backline, with assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef confirming that Rushwin Dortley and Given Msimango are recovering well from long-term injuries. With the CAF Confederation Cup coming soon, the duo's return will offer Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi more options in defence and create healthy competition in a squad that struggled at times last season. Dortley, 23, underwent knee surgery earlier this year after picking up an injury in a Betway Premiership clash against Mamelodi Sundowns in March, while Msimango also missed a chunk of the run-in, sidelined by a groin problem that forced him out of Amakhosi's last five league games and the Nedbank Cup final. New Kaizer Chiefs star confirms he plays three positions 'With Dortley, he keeps working with our medical staff, who are doing a very good job with him,' Ben Youssef told the media.. 'Soon, I think in a few weeks, he'll be back with us, and he and Given will start the training sessions with the team,' Youssef added. RIP: Former Orlando Pirates striker found dead in his apartment
Former Orlando Pirates striker Tendai Ndoro has passed on after a long battle with illness. According to reports, the 40-year-old former Zimbabwean international was reportedly found dead in his apartment in South Africa. Former Zimbabwe international midfielder Edelbert Dinha confirmed to Soccer Laduma that the former ex-Orlando Pirates striker indeed passed on. 'Eish, my brother, it's very sad and I'm not feeling good at all right now. I am actually at the scene as we speak. We are still waiting to hear the full story of what happened, but what I can confirm is that we heard about his passing this afternoon and rushed here to check. Apparently, he had already been gone for about three days,' said Dinha to the publication. 'Some of his uncles and aunts are here as well, having rushed to attend to the situation as soon as they got the news. Peter Ndlovu is also here, which is comforting because it shows that we are all standing together to support one of our own during this painful time. Sadly, Tendai was alone at the time of his passing, but as I said, we are still waiting for the full details of what really happened,' said Dinha.
