The London hotel that was just named one of the greatest luxury hotels in the world
London is brimming with old-school glamour and charm, so it's no surprise that one of the city's oldest and most famous hotels is still topping rankings for the world's top places to stay. That's just what London does best. Claridge's hotel in Mayfair has been named as one of the '50 greatest luxury hotels on Earth' by luxury lifestyle guide Robb Report. Each year Robb Report produces the 50-strong list of the planet's finest high-end hotels. For 2025, only one UK establishment made the cut. Claridge's came in an impressive third place in the global ranking, being beaten only by Florence's Collegio alla Querce in second, and Rosewood Amsterdam in first place. Opened in 1812, the historic hotel is a true legend of the scene and a longtime favourite place to stay for royals and celebrities – its pillows have supported the very important heads of everyone from Queen Victoria to Kate Moss. Made up of 269 regal rooms, a subterranean spa, swanky gym and two very highly regarded restaurants, Claridge's has everything one might need for a truly luxurious stay. Robb Report wrote: 'This grande dame of the London hotel scene is a beloved, determinedly British institution that's been part of English life for decades, yet it retains a youthful vigor. As for the Time Out editors? They agree. 'Inarguably one of Europe's finest hotels, Claridge's has a top-to-bottom vibe that exudes Art Deco glamour, historical significance and smoky old-world naughtiness,' wrote Time Out editor-in-chief Joe Mackertich in his five-star review of the uber-posh digs. 'The 269 rooms are as comfy and as elegant as you'd imagine... Meanwhile, both principal eateries, the Claridge's Restaurant and the Foyer, manage to justify their price tags with high-quality cooking and exceptional service. A truly special place.' The best burger in London, according to Time Out
Burgers are one of life's greatest pleasures. That combination of bread, succulent filling, oozy cheese and perhaps a pickle or two is so simple, but so darn good. With such a neat formula, there are thousands of spots across London with decent burgers on offer. But here at Time Out, we're interested in the outstanding. Our professional food obsessives have powered through dozens of patties in the city to bring you our list of London's best burgers, updated for August 2025. And we're coming at you with a brand new number one. Right now you'll find London's best burger at Dumbo. The Parisian burger brand opened its first international joint in Shoreditch earlier this summer and has already won Londoners over. Plus, at £10 it offers one of the cheapest cheeseburgers on our list. Time Out food editor Leonie Cooper wrote: 'The sleek smashburgers at Dumbo offer the perfect charred lacy crust on the edges of super succulent dry-aged beef. Add the requisite slices of gleaming American cheese, before tangy, plump pickles. Then come unobtrusive smears of ketchup and mustard - it's better dressed than peak Chloë Sevigny – and you're got yourself a rightfully hyped new-wave burger titan.' Claiming silver medal is the 'bona fide, utterly brilliant' Dexter cheeseburger from Four Legs at The Plimsoll. This cult classic keeps things super simple. It comes with a thin Dexter beef patty topped by melted cheese, burger sauce, finely minced onion and a generous heap of sweet pickles, all packed inside a glossy brioche bun. According to Leonie, 'you'll be swooning after the first mouthful'. Then, in at number three is an absolute whopper – the colossal meaty bun from Dove. There are only 10 of these burgers served at the Ladbroke Grove restaurant each day. The thick 50-day dry aged beef patty is covered with silky onions that have been cooked in champagne and butter and a pungent blanket of gorgonzola. Such a hefty thing comes with a hefty price tag, though – it'll set you back £18. Other burgers to make the cut on our new list include creations from Bleecker, Lagom and Manna. Find the . The South American city named one of the world's best for nightlife in 2025
Nightlife has changed a lot over the last couple of years, but our cities know a thing or two about adapting – just check out Time Out's brand-new ranking of the best cities in the world for going out. Las Vegas was our crowning champion for 2025, and Madrid stole the crown as the first-place entry in Europe, but, we obviously couldn't overlook the esteemed, colourful nightlife culture of South America, and one city from the continent made its way into our roundup, too. The city in question? It was (drum roll, please!) Medellín, Colombia 's brilliant second city, which ranked in place number 18 on our worldwide list. While there are larger, more world-renowned cities in South America which you might have expected to rank (Rio and Buenos Aires, we're looking at you), Medellín's success at claiming a spot alongside nightlife heavyweights like Vegas, Berlin and Mexico City is down to its affordability. Our survey spoke to more than 18,500 locals worldwide, and residents of Medellín commended how inexpensive a place it is to go out, with 80 percent saying clubbing is budget-friendly and 72 percent saying the same about entertainment. So, where should you be heading after dark? Well, local expert Luis Gomez says: 'You'll find more world-famous bars and clubs on one street in Medellín than you would find in many cities. Carrera 35 in Medellín's Provenza area is home to legendary basement club Perro Negro – yes, the same Perro Negro from the eponymous Bad Bunny and Feid song – as well as new spots owned by fellow reggaeton stars Karol G (El Callejón del Gato) and Maluma (903).' And if you fancy something a little more low-key, Somos De Calle and El Faro C13 in Comuna 13 are two solid spots to check out.
