NEW DELHI: An
Air India
Boeing 787 (VT-ANI) operating from Tokyo Haneda to Delhi on Sunday safely diverted to Kolkata due to persistent air-conditioning trouble, due to which the cabin was uncomfortably hot.
The flight AI357 had taken off from Tokyo at 12.31 pm and landed in Kolkata at 3.33 pm (all timings local) as far flight tracking sites.
An Air India spokesperson said: 'Air India flight AI357 operating from Haneda to Delhi on June 29, 2025, made a precautionary diversion to Kolkata due to persistent warm temperature experienced in the cabin. The aircraft landed safely into Kolkata and is currently undergoing checks.'
'Our ground colleagues in Kolkata are providing all necessary support to passengers to minimise the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen diversion. Alternative arrangements are being made to fly our passengers to Delhi at the earliest. We regret the inconvenience caused to our passengers,' the spokesperson added.

Police in Jammu intensifies security ahead of Amarnath Yatra

He said the checkpoints have been set up in coordination with paramilitary forces to ensure a seamless and secure pilgrimage experience. The checkpoints will be operational round the clock in high-sensitivity and high-mobility zones, including on national highways, city peripheries and routes leading to the Bhagwati Nagar base camp, the spokesperson said. Personnel from police, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and other agencies have been deployed for intensive frisking, surveillance and verification operations. In the new PRS, users will be able to submit their choice of seat and see the fare calendar. It also has integrated facilities for Divyangjan, students and patients etc., officials said. 'Streamlined authentication for Tatkal bookings Indian Railways will allow only authenticated users to book Tatkal tickets on IRCTC website and mobile app beginning 1st July, 2025,' the ministry added. It emphasised that OTP-based authentication will be done for Tatkal bookings from the end of July. The minister instructed officials to broadbase the authentication mechanism for Tatkal bookings. 'The authentication should be done using Aadhaar or any other verifiable Government ID available in the user's DigiLocker account,' the press note said.
