First Alert Weather: A warming trend is here, with some rain in view

Yahoo26-01-2025

The First Alert Weather Team is tracking a warming trend (finally!) throughout the next week, and a few days of rain.
Sunday began with a cold start, but warmed up nicely with some sunshine. This morning was the first morning in 5 days that Jacksonville didn't freeze.
This afternoon was the first day in a week that Jacksonville temperatures made it into the 60s.
Tonight will be chilly, but not as cold and no threat for a freeze anywhere locally.
Clouds will increase a bit during the day Monday, but temperatures will still be manageable in the 60s.
A few light showers will push into SE GA with a weakening storm system mid-morning through the afternoon. Don't expect rain in Jacksonville.
Temperatures will gradually warm into the 70s by Wednesday, before being knocked down briefly due to onshore winds Thursday.
We warm right back up into the 70s by Friday & the weekend. First Alert Meteorologist Corey Simma is tracking a few showers Friday into Saturday, which is a change from the forecast yesterday.
There's still a lot to work out with the rain the next few days. Right now, it doesn't look like much, but stay tuned.

Severe storms with large hail possible in Colorado Friday

A stormy Friday is in store for parts of Colorado as the threat of severe weather looms, especially for areas east of the I-25 corridor. CBS A First Alert Weather Day is in place due to the potential for large hail, potentially over 2 inches in diameter, and damaging wind gusts of 40 mph or higher. The highest risk area is southeastern Colorado where tornadoes are possible. CBS In the Denver metro area, the severe weather threat will hinge on how quickly morning cloud cover and light showers dissipate. If skies clear by midday, additional storm development could bring strong to severe storms into the urban corridor. CBS Storms are expected to taper off by late evening, with gradual clearing overnight. Saturday will bring a welcome break from active weather, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid-80s. CBS Moisture increases again on Sunday as another disturbance pushes across the region. Afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms are likely, with cooler temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.
