Band of brothers pen new song in tribute to Kayla
The single, Kayla's Song, will feature in an album that will raise money for East Anglia's Children's Hospice, in honour of the support her family received.
Kayla was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma in May 2021 and died in May this year - without getting the chance to hear the single.
Glen Spooner, of the Norwich band Sons of Mark, said: "We wanted it to be uplifting, we wanted it to celebrate Kayla's life because she was an amazing little girl."
Speaking to BBC Radio Norfolk's Breakfast Show, Kayla's mum Stacey said she did not want childhood cancer to become a "taboo subject".
"Kayla was three years old when she was diagnosed with high risk stage four neuroblastoma... I couldn't even tell you how many amounts of chemotherapy and stuff she had.
"We spent two years solidly fighting relapse... we were then hit with a brick wall and unfortunately there wasn't any treatment options available."
The family began fundraising soon after Kayla's diagnosis, raising £280,000 in nine months with hopes of their daughter going abroad for treatment.
Stacey first met band members and brothers Owen and Glen Spooner after they played a gig for Kayla in 2022 and they remained firm friends, and she said her seven-year-old "fell in love" with them.
She contacted Owen about writing a song for Kayla.
"We felt a lot of pressure obviously... having [Stacey's] blessing through it meant the world to us," said Owen.
"Obviously it's sad, but we wanted it to be celebrating as well."
The single will feature on the band's new album where all proceeds will go towards EACH's The Nook, where Kayla's family were supported.
Stacey said: "They try and make it a home from home... you have your privacy when you are going through the worst times.
"I could really just turn into being just mum, not the caregiver, not the medicine giver, not the pain management giver - which is what my life has been for four years.
"They allowed me to just be mum again and just be present with my children."

Ariel Vox Announces New Transformative Masterclass to Help You Rewrite Your Future
Ariel Vox, award-winning author and motivational speaker, launches a transformative coaching program to empower individuals in designing their own destinies. Southampton, Hampshire, UK, August 11, 2025 -- Ariel Vox: Empowering You to Design Your Own Destiny Ariel Vox, award-winning author and motivational speaker, proudly launches a workshop crafted to help you stop doubting your dreams and start questioning your limitations. This program helps you break free from mental roadblocks and create a future beyond anything you've imagined. Drawing from her own journey of overcoming adversity, Ariel inspires you to turn setbacks into success and transform your dreams into real-life achievements. Ariel's career is shaped by her powerful journey of tenacity. Raised in a communist regime where entrepreneurship was discouraged and even illegal, she grew up in an era where ambition was tightly controlled, and no one dared to challenge it. She has since transformed these early limitations into fuel for her work in motivational speaking, coaching, and writing. Her story—and the insights gained along the way—resonate with those who are ready to challenge their own internal filters. In her motivational work, Ariel teaches that you shouldn't leave your destiny to chance, but instead shape it through the power of your vision and dreams. Her training programs help dismantle the mindset ceilings that restrict your potential and keep true success out of reach. With a deep understanding of human behavior, she teaches you how to use fear and stress as catalysts for growth instead of obstacles that hinder progress. A Unique Perspective on Luck and Success 'Luck isn't just an unpredictable stroke of coincidence,' Ariel explains. 'Luck is shaped by the magical superhero costumes you possess—and choose to wear—every day. These qualities can make you unstoppable—but only if you know how to use the right one at the right time. Otherwise, your greatest gifts can become a destructive force instead of leading you to victory.' Think of your determination and refusal to be stopped by the impossible. Now imagine how that gift, when misdirected, could turn into anger or rage—damaging relationships. Or how your attention to detail could lead to analysis paralysis. Even your intuition for identifying risk could be misinterpreted as indecision or lack of confidence. Maybe you've been misunderstood your whole life: the 'shy one,' the 'workaholic,' the 'know-it-all,' or the 'black sheep.' The LUCK Code teaches you how to reclaim those labels—and flip them into your greatest strengths. You're already using the LUCK Code every day—you just don't know it. But without intention, it calibrates your reality in ways that work against you, not for you. Ariel teaches you how to turn the dial and create your own luck. Transforming Fear into Freedom Through Her Masterclass Ariel's personal journey is one of overcoming fear, and this theme is central to her work. At just 1.5 years old, she was in a life-threatening car accident that left her unable to speak. Though her speech returned, fear influenced every major decision—until she chose to confront it instead. In her motivational keynotes and epiphany workshops, Ariel creates an interactive space to uncover and overcome personal stumbling blocks. Her approach is practical and deeply personalized—helping you transform stress and fear from barriers into rocket power. Ariel's message is clear: you can overcome fear and turn an ordinary life into an extraordinary one. Her philosophy, 'What if I told you that there was a way to make achieving your dreams not just possible, but inevitable,' reflects her belief that every individual holds the potential to turn challenges into catalysts for transformation. Last Pundit Standing winner crowned at Wembley
Nahyan Chowdhury fell to his knees in tears as Alex Scott called out his name at Wembley. The 25-year-old from Liverpool had just been announced as the winner of the Last Pundit Standing - the BBC's bold new talent search to find their next football expert. Chowdhury - who works full-time as a chemist - was one of 12 content creators selected for the show from more than 400 applicants. Over seven episodes, the contestants were challenged by some of the biggest names in the game through a series of tasks staged at iconic football locations. With points up for grabs in each challenge, the top four progressed to the semi-final before the finalists battled it out to be crowned the winner at Wembley on the day of the 2025 FA Cup final. Chowdhury went head-to-head with Toby Addison and the pair were challenged to create a bespoke 60-second social media video centred around the FA Cup final. The finalists had won two challenges each heading into the final and were closely-tied until the end. "The chosen creator has shown great resilience being able to deliver under pressure and has an exciting future in this role," Scott said as she announced the winner. Chowdhury was overcome with emotion as he was hugged and congratulated by Addison. From the first challenge at Goodison Park in episode one - where Chowdhury was the only contestant to hit the woodwork in the crossbar challenge - hearing the news at Wembley was a full circle moment for him. "Fair play," Addison said. "He comes in week one at Goodison and hits the crossbar. It was destined." With a contract at BBC Sport secured, Chowdhury's first day in his new role will be 12 August. "I'm excited, get me in and get straight going," he said. "I wanted to get in there straight away and make an impact and prove I am a worthy winner. "I had no idea I'd be in this position. If you asked me a year ago and you said you would be making content and be on a TV show, I'd have said 'no chance'. I never thought about it because you just don't see people like me doing that kind of thing. I am so lucky I have been thrown into this position. "I've done it, I've proved to myself that I can do it and I'm going to prove to everyone else that I am a worthy winner. It's not the end, it's just the beginning. "I am the last pundit standing."
