If you are the ACC, let me ask this one.
They are opposed to the 14 team playoff.
It's set up where the SEC and the Big 10 start the season with 4 automatic bids.
It basically codifies that they are the weaker league, but it does give you Two spots.
Guaranteed in a playoff.
You go to the SEC.
And you're gonna find out how hard it is.
Do you use reverse course on the playoff and say we're gonna take it and hope.
That the path to the playoff with the addition, somehow rekindles the romance between FSU and Clemson and the ACC.
Pat, what do you think?
Maybe, uh, you know, it's.
It's a tough one to walk back.
I would like to see people stand up for what's best as a whole for college football.
But those things are fungible and tend to take a backseat to what's best for the ACC.
And that might be an easier deal for Jim Phillips to sell at this point.
While there is growing disinterest in the Big 12 and in the ACC in the format that the SEC and Big 10 are exploring this 44221 deal.
Those two leagues are mainly um maybe not in support of it fully because of just the perception, um, just starting the season in the hole, you know, two spots, but they actually, they know, and folks in the Big 12, I think know too that You know, guaranteed yourself too is not bad.
Um, I think it, it might be good for, uh, even some leagues, but it's just the thought of starting the season.
Two spots in the hole.
The path to the playoff and thus the path to the success initiative in the ACC, which again is a lot of money.
If you make it to the ACC team makes it to the championship game, the path to there is, is easier.
Um, you know, so if you can consistently make the playoff, and that'll probably guarantee you, you know, 10 to 12 million um in success initiative, and then if you get the top spot in the TV viewership, The over the, the top couple spots and you get an extra 15 million.
I mean, boom, it's 2025 million right there.
And um and that kind of helps you close the gap um a little bit with the SEC and the, and the big 0.

Oklahoma target 4-Star WR Davian Groce recruiting profile

Oklahoma target 4-Star WR Davian Groce recruiting profile The Oklahoma Sooners hosted one of the most talented skill players in the 2026 recruiting class for an official visit over the weekend, four-star wide receiver Davian Groce. Groce hails from Frisco, Texas, and is a dynamic, do-it-all weapon on the offensive side of the ball. While being projected to wide receiver at the collegiate level, he has experience carrying the ball out of the backfield, showing off his ability to create big plays in a number of ways. Groce is fantastic in the open field. He has the agility and vision to make defenders miss. He does a great job changing speeds to keep defensive backs off balance in his route. Once he gets the ball, Groce can accelerate away from the defense. He can win in every level of the passing game, showing a natural feel for the screen game as well as running intermediate and deep routes. Though he lines up mostly on the outside, his skillset would allow Groce to be successful in the slot as well. Groce would also be an asset in the return game if the Oklahoma Sooners were able to earn his commitment. Groce currently has 22 Power Four offers, including SEC schools Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Florida, Missouri, and Ole Miss. LSU football predicted to land elite tackle after decommitment from SEC rival

LSU football predicted to land elite tackle after decommitment from SEC rival On3's Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction Sunday for LSU to land a commitment from four-star offensive lineman Emanuel Tucker. Tucker is slated to make his commitment on June 13. Tucker took a trip to Baton Rouge over the weekend and it seems that the head coach Brian Kelly's staff won him over. He was active on social media, reposting content from the LSU facilities. Last weekend, Tucker decommitted from Mississippi State and reopened his recruitment process. Ole Miss and the Tigers entered the race with heavy hands over the past few days. Both are considered the front-runners for Tucker's services. According to On3's Industry Rankings, Tucker is the No. 203 overall prospect in the 2026 cycle. He is No. 16 at offensive tackle and No. 9 out of Mississippi. The New Albany, MS native initially chose the Bulldogs but he's under an hour away from Oxford. Tucker would be a significant regional get for Kelly, who built the SEC's best class of the 2026 cycle. He would be the second Mississippi native, alongside five-star Tristen Keys and the third offensive lineman, in addition to Brysten Martinez and Jalen Chapman.

LSU baseball will see familiar foe in first game of College World Series

LSU baseball will see a familiar foe when it gets to Omaha for the College World Series. LSU's first game will be vs. SEC rival Arkansas. LSU and Arkansas both punched their tickets after completing sweeps on Sunday. Arkansas took care of business vs. Tennessee while LSU beat West Virginia. Advertisement The Tigers and Razorbacks met earlier this year in Baton Rouge, with LSU taking two of three for the series win. The Tigers won the Friday night meeting when Jared Jones scored on a walk-off sacrifice fly off the bat of Ethan Frey. LSU mercy ruled Arkansas in Game 2 before the Razorbacks got the best of LSU in Game 3. LSU and Arkansas are probably the strongest teams in the bracket, so meeting in Game 1 isn't ideal for either squad. The winner will be considered the national title favorite while the loser will have to play with its back to the wall. LSU's last trip to the College World Series came in 2023, where LSU also met an SEC foe in Game 1. The Tigers beat Tennessee to open their 2023 campaign in Omaha.
