While there is no shortage of Hollywood nepo babies riding on the coattails of their famous parents to launch their careers, very few are willing to admit that it took more than just 'hard work' to break into the highly competitive industry – Ava Dash is not one of them.

F1: The Movie review – Brad Pitt in fun but clichéd motor-racing drama

3/5 stars Watching F1: The Movie is like being hurled back into 1980s Hollywood, for better and for worse. The film, about a veteran driver and a rookie in a failing F1 team, sees producer Jerry Bruckheimer (Days of Thunder) and director Joseph Kosinski reunited after Top Gun: Maverick , starring Tom Cruise. But instead of Cruise, this new film stars Brad Pitt. Play Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a former F1 driver who disappeared from the circuit following a crash at the 1993 Spanish Grand Prix. In the years since, he has scraped by as a New York cabby, developed a gambling habit and had numerous failed marriages. He gets another shot at the big time when his former teammate Ruben (Javier Bardem) invites him to drive for his failing F1 team, APX GP. Sonny, it turns out, has retained his skill and proves to be a fantastic driver who plays by his own rules.

Elio movie review: Pixar's take on E.T. is a rare misfire from the animation studio

2.5/5 stars In an industry where originality is becoming an increasing rarity, Pixar is one company that prides itself on carving out unique stories. But not every story lands perfectly, a thought that strikes when it comes to the animation giant's latest feature, Elio. The tale of an orphaned boy who desperately wants to discover life in outer space, it's maybe the closest we've come to seeing Steven Spielberg's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial rendered in cartoon form – despite having far less of an impact. When we join Elio (voiced by Yonas Kibreab), he is hiding under a canteen table. We never find out what happened to his parents, but he is now the responsibility of his aunt Olga (Zoe Saldaña), who works on a military base. Play Olga is kindly but unable to connect with her traumatised nephew. Instead, all he wants is to encounter interplanetary life forms. 'Aliens abduct me,' he scrawls in the sand on the beach near the base. Then, as he is being bullied by some local kids, his wish comes true. He is spirited away to meet an array of colourful aliens – the so-called Communiverse.

Who is Ravyn Lenae, whose song ‘Love Me Not' went viral on TikTok after a Solange mash-up? She played at Coachella 2025, and is set to open for Sabrina Carpenter as well as make her Lollapalooza debut

Ravyn Lenae's hit R&B track 'Love Me Not' has become the soundtrack of social media this summer – despite it being a year old. The song, from Lenae's second studio album Bird's Eye, only gained traction after an account on Tik Tok shared a mash-up of the song with Solange's 2012 track, 'Losing You' last year, and it gradually gained momentum. Charting No 81 on Billboard's Hot 100 this April, the popularity of 'Love Me Not' has made the 26-year-old one of the hottest R&B musicians to watch right now. She's also set to make her debut at Lollapalooza, a musical festival she grew up attending, next month in Chicago. Advertisement Here's everything you need to know about Ravyn Lenae. She grew up attending the Pullman Christian Reformed Church, where her grandfather served as a pastor, per The Banner. Lenae told the magazine that her love for music started in church, where she grew up singing and learning how to play the guitar and piano from a young age. 'It all started in church,' she told the magazine in 2017. 'That's the best place to share your gift – with people who know you and love you and support you.' In an interview with Ssense, Lenae said it was the first time she was able to make money through music, earning a US$100 stipend for her work with the choir. She used it to book her first studio session and released her first EP, Moon Shoes, while she was still at The Chicago High School for the Arts. Since the release of Moon Shoes in 2015, Lenae has toured and worked with the likes of producer Steve Lacy, known for hits such as 'Bad Habit' and 'Mercury'. In 2017, she opened for R&B singer Sza during her Ctrl tour.
