WWE Announces First-Ever Premium Live Event in Paris

Yahoo29-01-2025
WWE, part of TKO Holdings, is set to make a high-profile return to Europe with its first stadium show in almost three years, officially announcing Clash in Paris, scheduled to take place on Aug. 31 at the Paris La Défense Arena.
Clash in Paris will be the first-ever WWE Premium Live Event (PLE) held in the French capital, although last year, France made a huge impression on the global wrestling community when the Backlash PLE was hosted in Lyon. The crowd that night was extremely hot and will always be remembered for singing 'Il est vraiment phénomenal,' a popular tune often heard at French soccer matches, for WWE Superstar 'The Phenomenal One' AJ Styles.

'Backlash France in Lyon last year broke arena records and decibel levels, demonstrating just how loud and passionate our WWE fans in France can be,' said WWE Chief Content Officer Paul 'Triple H' Levesque. 'We believe Clash in Paris and Raw will attract people from around the world to Paris and once again create a true spectacle.'
Clash in Paris will be held at the Paris La Défense Arena, known as the largest indoor venue in Europe. It has previously hosted global artists like Taylor Swift, The Rolling Stones, and Bruce Springsteen. The announcement of Clash in Paris follows a series of successful WWE events in Europe, including Glasgow's Clash at the Castle in June and Bash in Berlin in August.
In addition to Clash in Paris, WWE will also broadcast Monday Night Raw from the same venue on Sept. 1. This back-to-back event lineup ensures that French fans will have an extended opportunity to see a live WWE show in person.

Dean Cain claims he was sexually harassed on the set of ‘90s ‘Superman' TV series

Dean Cain claimed he was a victim of sexual harassment when he was Superman. During a new interview with Variety, the 58-year-old actor made a bombshell claim about his experience starring in the 1990s TV series 'Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.' 'I could have had the biggest sexual harassment lawsuit in Hollywood history,' Cain told the outlet. 'We ended up putting in stirrups so that it stayed in place. And the boots were a whole lace-up thing at first. We worked on it as time went on.' 'I remember it being 110 in Burbank. In the Superman suit, you can't sweat. If you sweat, it balls up. So I didn't,' Cain continued. 'I'm a Japanese dude. I don't sweat that much. I'm not hairy at all. They didn't have to shave my chest or anything. But still …' 9 Dean Cain as Clark Kent/Superman. ©Warner Bros/Courtesy Everett Collection Cain also recalled that flying in the suit was brutal because the wires cut off circulation. 'There's no blood flow going to your legs,' he noted. 'After hanging for hours, I would have to get a massage just to keep the blood moving from quadrant to quadrant. Teri would cry. She'd be in tears every single time we had to fly because it hurt.' Cain explained that he filmed 'Lois and Clark' five days a week from 6 a.m. on Monday until 7 a.m. Saturday. 'There was no time to work out, because they couldn't give me a workout clause, because then they'd have to for every other star and then it sets precedent for Warner Bros. That's why I haven't done a series since. It feels like suffocating. You feel claustrophobic.' Cain also expressed that he feels he was financially exploited by Warner Bros. 'Warner Bros. buries the bodies deep and makes it look like it's lost money. There's no possible way.' 'But I should have sued,' he stated. 'George Clooney did it. He sued on 'ER' and got a big payout for his participation. I was advised not to because 'You don't want to bite the hand that feeds you.''

Magic, Grizzlies to play in Berlin and London this season. More games coming to Manchester and Paris

LONDON (AP) — The NBA will play at least six regular-season games in Europe over the next three seasons, starting with a pair of games between the Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic this season. The Grizzlies and Magic will play in Berlin on Jan. 15, then in London on Jan. 18. The league will play games at Manchester, England and Paris in the 2026-27 season, then return to Berlin and Paris for games in the 2027-28 season. The games will be held at Berlin's Uber Arena, London's The O2, Manchester's Co-op Live and Paris' Accor Arena. 'Announcing the next three season's regular-season games in Europe reflects the incredible momentum and appetite for NBA basketball in France, Germany, the UK and across the region,' said George Aivazoglou, the NBA's managing director for Europe and the Middle East. 'We look forward to welcoming the Grizzlies and the Magic to Berlin and London and to engaging fans, players and the local communities through the games and the surrounding events.' The Berlin game in January will be the NBA's 14th in Germany since 1984, but the first regular-season game in the country — and will serve as a homecoming for Magic players Franz and Moritz Wagner, both of whom play for Germany's national team. The London game this season will be the 10th regular-season contest in that city. Manchester has never played host to a regular-season game, and Paris has been the site of five regular-season contests — including two last season between the Indiana Pacers and San Antonio Spurs. French star Victor Wembanyama plays for the Spurs, which made them a logical choice to go to Paris for last season's series of games. The full NBA schedule for this season is expected to be released in mid-August. The dates and participating teams for the games in 2027 and 2028 will be announced prior to the 2026-27 and 2027-28 NBA seasons, respectively. ___ AP NBA:

Chelsea Green is leaving social media for a bit. The former WWE Women's United States Champion is known by many fans to have one of the most entertaining accounts on social media. However, recent events have made Green feel differently about the platform. Green has come under fire over the past 48 hours for being as open and honest as she could be regarding the passing of Hulk Hogan. The WWE Superstar posted a series of tweets today explaining her position. And while we thought that was the end of it, it was only the beginning. Tonight, following SmackDown, Green took to social media to announce that due to the name-calling and death threats she has recently received, she is stepping away from social media, tweeting out: 'I've tried to keep my page positive and comedic, but today, a lot changed… and it hit harder than I expected. The name calling, the death threats, the faceless accounts. Social media was supposed to be a fun place and it hasn't been for a while. It's been overwhelming and I need to step away for a little bit. Love my PatriHOTS! *salute emoji* *red heart emoji* xo president chels,' Chelesa Green said in a post.
