Filmmaker Aditya Kriplani Breaks Down In Tears As He Reviews Siddhant Chaturvedi's Dhadak 2
Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, is making quite a wave, and the word of mouth for the film is very strong. Today, filmmaker Aditya Kriplani took to his social media to review the film, and while talking about it, he broke down and heaped praises on Shazia Iqbal for making this beautiful film.
While sharing the video, he attached it with a long caption that reads, '@shaz.3.0 and the team at Dharma Productions, aapko salaam. 🙏🏾❤️. Rahul Badwelkar, beautiful screenplay. @officialzakirhussain aapne kya khoobsoorat kaam kiya hai. @anubhafatehpuria aapne bhi. ❤️❤️❤️. I just saw another film of yours called Thursday Special."

'@saurabhsachdeva77 you were so, so good. So good. Beautiful. ❤️❤️❤️. @itsharishkhanna so beautiful you were. Especially in that last home scene. So torn. So torn. @manjiripupala beautiful work again. So happy for you. @deekshajoshi0412 @vipin.sta beautiful work as usual. Especially the insult scene at college. Beautiful," he further added.
Aditya concluded his note by adding, '@siddhantchaturvedi I've loved you this much after Gully Boy. Thank you for doing this film. That wedding scene and everything you felt after the insult was beautiful, beautiful. You've thrown yourself into it. Thank you. @tripti_dimri who are you?????? Who are you?????? I loved what you've done. Very, very beautiful. @shaz.3.0 you've made this film so beautifully."
News18 also reviewed the film and gave it 3.5 stars out of 5, and a part of our review reads, ' It's worth noting that Dhadak 2 isn't an original story. It's a remake of the much-loved Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal. But even as a remake, it feels fresh and meaningful, especially in a world full of sloppy adaptations. This one stands tall. Dhadak 2 is the kind of film that screams good storytelling, and hence, it's a clear reminder to everyone that good movies can still be made, if the heartbeat (Dhadak) is in the right direction. If you've been craving an honest romantic thriller that's believable, then trust me and don't miss this one. Book your tickets now."

Dhadak 2 box office collection day 5: Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, continues to stay steady at the box office. After a lukewarm opening weekend, the film added ₹1.52 crore on its fifth day, bringing the total domestic collection to ₹14.27 crore (India net), according to Sacnilk. Despite good reviews, the film hasn't gained the momentum expected of a mainstream romantic drama. Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri film is a remake of Pariyerum Perumal. Dhadak 2 box office collections on Day 5 On Tuesday, 5 August, Dhadak 2 recorded an overall Hindi (2D) occupancy of 21.15%, reflecting a marginal improvement in afternoon shows but a complete decline by evening and night. In terms of show-wise performance, the film saw a morning occupancy of 13.70%, which improved to 28.60% in the afternoon. It registered 32.07% for the evening shows. City-wise, the film's performance was a mixed bag. The National Capital Region (NCR) emerged as the top-performing region with 35% overall occupancy across 343 shows, followed by Chennai with a strong 44%, though with limited screenings. Jaipur also fared decently with 30.5% overall occupancy. Mumbai and Pune posted average numbers at 22% and 21.5% respectively, while Bengaluru and Lucknow hovered around the 17–24% range. On the other hand, cities like Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Surat showed weak response with single-digit occupancy levels. Chandigarh and Bhopal also registered subdued interest. About Dhadak 2 Dhadak 2 is a romantic drama starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri. It is directed by Shazia Iqbal and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. A spiritual sequel to the 2018 film Dhadak, it explores themes of inter-caste romance and societal oppression. With weekday trends showing little sign of acceleration, Dhadak 2 faces an uphill climb to sustain its run at the box office. Whether word-of-mouth can turn things around remains to be seen as the film heads into its second weekend.

Director Aanand L Rai And Dhanush Mull Legal Action On Raanjhanaa AI Ending: "Worried About Our Other Films"
New Delhi: Filmmaker Aanand L Rai has confirmed that he and actor Dhanush are exploring legal action against the AI-altered re-release of their 2013 film Raanjhanaa. The filmmaker called the modification which features an alternate happy ending "a very dangerous precedent" and raised alarm about what this could mean for the future of creative ownership. "I am very worried about my other films. So is Dhanush. We are actively looking at judicial remedies to restore and preserve our creative content from such extraneous interventions," Aanand L Rai said in a strongly worded statement. He emphasised that while they're examining long-term legal measures, the immediate focus is on the unauthorised alteration of Raanjhanaa. The Tamil version of the film, titled Ambikapathy, was re-released by rights holder Eros International on August 1 with an AI-generated climax that gives the film a happy ending, a drastic departure from the original. Aanand L Rai, who directed the film, shared his deep disapproval on social media, calling the AI edit "jarring and disturbing." In a post, he wrote, "The past three weeks have been surreal, and deeply upsetting. To watch Raanjhanaa, a film born out of care, conflict, collaboration, and creative risk, be altered, repackaged, and re-released without my knowledge or consent has been nothing short of devastating. What makes it worse is the complete ease and casualness with which it's been done." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Aanand L Rai (@aanandlrai) Dhanush, who played the lead role in the film, echoed the sentiment. In a post on X, he said, "The re-release of Raanjhanaa with an AI-altered climax has completely disturbed me. This alternate ending has stripped the film of its very soul, and the concerned parties went ahead with it despite my clear objection." For the love of cinema 🙏 — Dhanush (@dhanushkraja) August 3, 2025 In response, Eros International Media Limited, which holds the copyright to the film issued a statement saying that they are the "sole and exclusive copyright owner" and have full rights to exhibit, adapt, and re-release the film in any format. Pradeep Dwivedi, Group CEO, Eros Media World, told NDTV in an exclusive interview, "While not legally required, Eros believes in fair engagement. In this case, despite the ongoing legal matter, our notice of creative intent was conveyed post-production to Mr Rai. We regret his response but stand by the decision to proceed responsibly and transparently." Dwivedi further said, "We view Mr Rai's public outburst, especially timed just days after the regulatory disclosures advised previously, as a conscious attempt to shift focus away from the legal and governance issues he currently faces. It is unfortunate that a filmmaker of his stature would attempt to conflate legal accountability with creative victimhood." As for Dhanush's objection, the studio issues a statement, "We would like to respectfully clarify that an Eros representative had engaged in direct communication with Mr Dhanush's team regarding the proposed revisions, and no formal objection was communicated to us prior the AI-enhanced re-release of Ambikapathy." Even as the controversy grows, Aanand L Rai and Dhanush seem determined to take the matter to court, warning that if left unchallenged, such use of AI could set a precedent that undermines the integrity of creative work across the film industry.
