Police search for suspected shooter at Spartan College in Inglewood; at least 2 injured
The Inglewood Police Department responded to a call reporting a shooting at 8911 Aviation Blvd. at 3:39 p.m. At least two people were injured, a spokesperson for the L.A. County Fire Department said. Information on their conditions were not immediately available.
Officers were continuing to search the campus for additional victims at 4:40 p.m., and some students had been evacuated, police said.

Man killed after trying to stop thieves from stealing his car in South L.A., authorities say
A 41-year-old man was fatally shot while trying to protect his car during an attempted theft in South Los Angeles, the L.A. County Sheriff's Department said. Deputies responded to reports of a gunshot victim Saturday about 9:20 p.m. in the 8000 block of South Hooper Avenue in unincorporated L.A. County. They found two wounded men in a nearby alley. One had been struck by gunfire in the upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene by the L.A. County Fire Department. The other man was taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds to his leg. Investigators learned that the men heard their car alarm go off in the alley where it was parked and spotted three people trying to steal the vehicle. When the men confronted the thieves, a fourth individual, who was standing near the alley's entrance, opened fire on them. One of the men returned fired in apparent self-defense, the Sheriff's Department said in a release. The thieves fled west on East 81st Street in a newer-model red or burgundy four-door coupe, officials said. No suspects had been arrested as of Sunday afternoon. Police issue Amber Alert for three children last seen with their babysitter
Police issued an Amber Alert Sunday for three missing Inglewood children who were last seen with their babysitter. The Mamby children: Alona, 4; Meischon, 6; and Isabella, 8, were last seen on Friday at 7:30 p.m. with their babysitter Constance Franks on the 300 block of W. Hyde Park Boulevard in Inglewood, according to the Inglewood Police Department. Alona and Isabella were wearing red 'Winnie the Pooh' shirts, while Meischon was wearing a red 'Spiderman' shirt. Police said that Franks 'possibly left on foot with the children in an unknown direction.' The California Highway Patrol sent out the Amber Alert Sunday for 'child abduction/taken.' Franks, 55, was wearing a white tank top, tan dress and brown Uggs. It was not clear what the circumstances surrounding the potential abduction were. Those with information of their whereabouts are asked to call 911 or contact the IPD Watch Commander at (310) 412-5206.

Feds charge SoCal medical workers with interfering in ICE raid
Two staff members from an Ontario surgery center have been charged with allegedly interfering with U.S. immigration officers trying to detain landscapers who ran into the center to escape. Jose de Jesus Ortega, a 38-year-old Highland resident, was arrested Friday morning and is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Riverside, according to a U.S. attorney's office Central District of California news release. Officials are still looking for the other suspect, Danielle Nadine Davila, 33, of Corona. Both are charged with assaulting a federal officer and conspiracy to prevent by force and intimidation a federal officer from discharging his duties, authorities said. According to video obtained by KTLA-TV, staffers at the Ontario Advanced Surgical Center earlier this month told two agents to leave because they didn't have a warrant to go onto the property. The agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement were trying to detain 30-year-old Denis Guillen-Solis and two other landscapers who had been working outside and ran into the surgical center when the agents showed up. In the video, Guillen-Solis is shown holding onto the doorway at the surgical center and asking the agents to present identification. The agents then pulled Guillen-Solis from the doorway and detained him. 'The illegal alien arrested inside the surgery center was not a patient. He ran inside for cover and these defendants attempted to block his apprehension by assaulting our agents," said U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli in a statement. According to an affidavit, the two ICE agents wore government-issued equipment, including vests and were using unmarked government-operated vehicles when they conducted their operations. The agents followed a truck with three men inside and approached them after the men exited the truck in the parking lot of the surgery center, according to the release. Two of the men ran away and one of them, an alleged undocumented immigrant from Honduras, was detained near the surgery center's front entrance and tried to pull away, causing the ICE officer to fall to the ground. A medical staffer helped the man off the ground and pulled him away from the officer, according to the news release. The man went into the surgery center and was chased by the ICE agent, who eventually stopped him. The incident occurred amid an extraordinary immigration enforcement effort by the Trump administration in Southern California.
