Rock star's 'awful' date with Melissa Joan Hart led to finding love with his wife
Blink-182 bassist and singer Mark Hoppus didn't have a magical evening with Melissa Joan Hart.
In an excerpt from his new memoir, "Fahrenheit-182," shared with Entertainment Weekly, Hoppus recalled meeting the "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" star at the Teen Choice Awards, "and she must've found me interesting because she had her publicist reach out to my label's publicist to give me her number. Totally normal courtship."
Hoppus admitted he tried to be cool and use "Hollywood industry jargon" but realized it probably didn't impress her because she "had been famous for years."
The pair went on a date for sushi, but Hoppus didn't feel like they were clicking.
"It was an awful date. She was very nice, but we weren't connecting. Everything in her life revolved around acting, and it was hard to relate to her about anything else," he wrote.
He said when he asked about what kind of food she liked besides sushi, she said she mostly eats what's available on set. When he asked about what she liked to read, she said she mostly read scripts for work.
"And I'm sure from her perspective, all I could talk about was music. We just weren't a great match. It was tough," Hoppus said.
After the dinner, Hart invited him back to her home, but he ended up calling it an early night so he could be ready for a music video shoot in the morning.
When he got back to his hotel room, he had a voicemail from Skye Everly, an MTV booker, asking him to call her.
Hoppus returned the call, and "some light pleasantries quickly turned into deep conversation. We talked about everything."
"We talked for so long that the sun came up and we realized we'd talked all night."
The "All the Small Things" singer married Everly in 2000, and welcomed their son, Jack, two years later.
Hart went on to marry musician Mark Wilkerson in 2003, and welcomed three sons, Mason, Braydon, and Tucker.
Representatives for Hart and Hoppus did not immediately return Fox News Digital's request for comment.
"Fahrenheit-182" is available April 8.

Willow, 3, meets William and shares her crisps
When Prince William paused to greet three-year-old Willow during a visit to the Royal Cornwall Show, her family never expected a gift to exchange hands. They were taken aback when Willow reached up with a single Quaver - and even more surprised when the prince popped the savoury snack into his jacket pocket. "I don't think I've ever been offered a Quaver before," the prince said. "I'm going to save this and put it in my pocket for later." Grandmother Sharon Hart, who captured the moment on video, told the BBC: "It was a lovely genuine moment and a memory that we will never forget." Ms Hart, from Luxulyan, from Cornwall, said: "I guess he gets some very expensive presents and this was a first. "Willow always wants to be a princess, so the fact she met a real live prince - she thought that was incredible." The Prince of Wales visited the Royal Cornwall Show on Friday, where he toured the exhibits, spoke to visitors and sampled local produce, including Cornish Rattler cider. Prince William, the Duke of Cornwall, is a patron of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, the charity which organises the three-day show. Willow was attending with her family, including brothers Jude, six, and Noah, eight. Ms Hart, 65, said: "He was leaving the Duchy tent when he passed us. "We were just watching and hoping we'd get a glimpse when there was a commotion in front of us and before we knew it Willow was handing out a Quaver. "She's usually quite tight with her Quavers so it obviously meant a lot to her. "He was a real gent, he thanked her and told her he'd never been given a Quaver as a gift." Jodie Hart, Willow's mother, said: "She's had another packet of crisps today and said she wanted to share them with Prince William. "We told her he was probably a little busy." Ms Hart added: "What a lovely man he is and what a gentleman - our grandchildren were thrilled to see him, never mind talk to him. "He just made it so important, it was lovely. His humanity shone through." More news stories for Cornwall Listen to the latest news for Cornwall Follow BBC Cornwall on X, Facebook and Instagram. BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD's Totally Stupid, Totally Awesome Legacy Gets the Fun History — GeekTyrant
The Weird History Channel just dropped The Complete History of Beavis and Butt-Head , and it's the kind of video that makes you go 'uhhhh... cool.' It's a funny, surprisingly thoughtful look at how Mike Judge's two brainless icons went from whacking frogs with baseball bats to becoming pop culture lightning rods, surviving censorship battles, parent outrage, and even a near-miss live-action reboot. The doc tracks their crude rise on Liquid Television, their MTV domination, the '90s firestorm, and their recent resurrection on Paramount+. The video comes with the note: 'Created and voiced by animator Mike Judge, Beavis and Butthead is an adult animated cartoon about two lazy, dim-witted teenagers who don't care about much in this world beyond heavy metal and music videos. 'Their original series would run for more than two hundred episodes over six seasons, while spawning a theatrically released movie, a spin-off, several books and video games, two television revivals, and this video.' The video packed with the kind of trivia and chaos only Beavis and Butt-Head could inspire. If you've ever headbanged to dumb metal riffs while yelling 'fire!' this one's for you.

Dakota Jokes "Madame Web" Flop Was 'Not Her Fault'
Dakota Johnson is reflecting on the negative reception her film Madame Web was met with last year. The Fifty Shades Of Grey star appeared alongside Sydney Sweeney and The Last Of Us' Isabela Merced in the Spider-Man spin-off, taking the lead as Cassandra Webb. Upon its release, Madame Web was near-unanimously slammed by critics, and was also a bomb at the box office. Asked about the project during a new interview with the LA Times, Dakota quipped: 'It wasn't my fault.' She explained: 'There's this thing that happens now where a lot of creative decisions are made by committee. Or made by people who don't have a creative bone in their body. And it's really hard to make art that way. Or to make something entertaining that way. 'And I think unfortunately, with Madame Web, it started out as something and turned into something else. And I was just sort of along for the ride at that point. But that happens. Bigger-budget movies fail all the time.' 'I don't have a Band-Aid over it,' she claimed. 'There's no part of me that's like, 'Oh, I'll never do that again' to anything. I've done even tiny movies that didn't do well. Who cares?' Shortly after the movie's release, Dakota admitted she was 'not surprised' to see Madame Web being picked apart in the way that it was. 'It was a real learning experience, and of course it's not nice to be a part of something that's ripped to shreds,' she said. 'But I can't say that I don't understand.' Dakota previously told Entertainment Weekly: '[Before Madame Web, I'd] never really done a movie where you are on a blue screen, and there's fake explosions going off, and someone's going, 'Explosion!' and you act like there's an explosion. That to me was absolutely psychotic. 'I was like, 'I don't know if this is going to be good at all! I hope that I did an okay job!'.'
