‘Shallowing' is a popular bedroom trend that men and women across the country are trying — and loving

New York Post05-06-2025
'Shallowing' is a popular sex trend that has taken off — and gotten women off — within the last year.
It's nicknamed 'outercourse' because it involves light sexual play of the entrance to the vagina and slightly inside — without deeper penetration.
Shallowing was only formally named a few years ago, and it's become increasingly popular — especially since sexual wellness brand LELO listed it as one of the top sex trends for 2024. And it seems to still be going strong.

This sexual fun is not just a spicy trend people are taking part in — solo or with a partner — a survey has proven it to be pleasurable for most women.

In a 2021 survey of over 4,000 women conducted by the Indiana University School of Medicine and OMGYES, it was discovered that almost 84% of US women between the ages of 18 and 93 found increased pleasure from this outercourse play.

While some people are having some shallow fun — others are curious about experimenting with different sex positions to spice things up in the bedroom.
A team of FetishFinder researchers looked at Google search patterns to uncover which sex positions people are most intrigued by.
And it seems missionary is a snooze fest these days because the 'bear hug' position took the cake as the most searched.
People seem to be more curious than ever about finding new sex positions to try in the bedroom.

This position involves doing the deed while hugging each other like a bear standing up. It certainly caught people's attention because it saw a 623% spike in searches within the last year.
Other highly searched positions included the 'filthy Sanchez' — which is more on the crude side of things, as it involves smearing bodily fluids on a person's upper lip.
The third most Google-searched position is the 'anvil' — which requires one partner to lie on their back, legs lifted overhead, while the other person and kneeling, does what you'd imagine they'd be doing during frisky time.
The anvil saw a 275% increase in searches.

And it seems when people aren't searching for new ways to position their bodies in the bedroom — they're also turning to Chat GPT to inquire about health, sex and pleasure.
'It's important that anyone with questions about sex and pleasure can receive answers from trusted sources,' said Verena Singmann, spokesperson for We-Vibe, a sexual pleasure brand.
'Technology can be a helpful tool when it comes to sex and pleasure, but AI doesn't always know best when it comes to our sexual health and wellbeing.'

BabyChiefDoIt Denies Using ChatGPT to Write His Lyrics, Says He'd Never ‘Give Yall the Sauce'

17-old-old Chicago rapper BabyChiefDoIt claims that his recent comments about using ChatGPT for lyrics was taken out of context. On Aug. 11, the "Went West" artist visited Power 105.1, where, around the 16-minute mark, he countered the argument that his music spreads "negative energy." He was also asked about an Instagram Stories post he made, which he briefly forgot until admitting that it was something he would say. When the interviewer joked that BabyChief probably used ChatGPT, the rapper said he had recently downloaded the app and used it to write his lyrics. "That s**tworks," he said, adding that he prompted the technology to write a song after inputting four bars. "Now I ain't use it, you know, exactly how it was written, but it was some, you know, some some s**tthat I could pull out of," he continued. BabyChief was widely criticized for using ChatGPT, with some social media users accusing him of having a lack of creativity. But the Chicago artist is one of multiple rap acts that have utilized AI, as Cam'ron and Timbaland have embraced the technology. On Saturday (Aug, 16), BabyChief addressed his comments on Power 105.1, blaming the internet for being "unfun.' "If ChatGPT was the solution 2 all my problems Y in the absolute f#ck would I give yall the sauce," he wrote on Instagram Stories. The rapper also posted a screenshot from a text message, where an individual, possibly on his team, told him to be "mindful" of what he says in interviews. "We gotta make sure we always position things from the drivers seat," the person wrote. "We don't wanna make it seem like you're not a real writer and lyricist cause you are. People think you got ghost writers now." They concluded, "We never wanna discredit ourselves." BabyChief returned to ChatGPT, but instead of requesting lyrics, he told the platform to call him the "dopest writer" and deny that he needs a "robot" to write for him. Taylor Swift has a purple countdown on her website — what fans think it means for 'The Life of a Showgirl'

The new album is set for release on Oct. 3. Oh, Taylor Swift, what are you up to now?! The pop star is teasing fans yet again with a countdown on her website — but instead of the orange-and-green color scheme she's currently using to promote her upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl, Swift's latest countdown is purple. The countdown appeared on Aug. 18 and is slated to end at 2 p.m. ET Monday. The website features a ticking clock alongside a glittery purple background, and the whole rest of the website is currently shut down — meaning there's no way to purchase merch right now. Swift's website isn't the only place purple is being used to promote whatever this upcoming announcement is. If you type 'Taylor Swift' into Google, purple confetti rains down on the screen. A red fiery heart emoji also appears, with a purple text block that reads 'And, baby, that's show business for you.' This is the same thing that happened with Google ahead of Swift's Life of a Showgirl album announcement; however, now the orange is swapped out for purple. And, if you go on Swift's Apple Music page, the image also features glittery purple. Obviously, fans online are freaking out about what all this purple could mean. Some are certain that it's a merch drop for The Life of a Showgirl, since merch sales are currently disabled. Some are hopeful that this purple moment could signal the release of Swift's first single off the album. Others, however, have bigger aspirations: some believe that this countdown could end with the reveal that The Life of a Showgirl is actually a double album, with the second album featuring a purple color scheme. As TikToker Britton Rae said in a video about the countdown, Swift's latest antics are making her feel 'a little bit delulu,' aka 'delusional' and convinced that another album is coming — especially given the fact that Swift officially announced Showgirl at exactly 12:12 a.m. on Aug. 12. 'She was very adamant that this album only had 12 tracks on it,' the TikToker said, pointing to Swift's New Heights interview with boyfriend Travis Kelce. 'What if there's another album that also has 12 tracks on it, and that's why we've done the 12:12?' Others, however, are convinced this countdown could lead to an Eras Tour documentary. One TikToker pointed out in a video that this purple glitter 'could maybe lead to the behind-the-scenes of the Eras Tour, since The Life of a Showgirl is 'behind the curtain'.' The TikToker also noted that Swift recorded unseen footage from her final three shows of the Eras Tour in Vancouver. Whatever happens, Swift certainly has plenty of surprises in store for fans.
