'Following this milestone, the next phase will commence with the selection of an additional 1 lakh beneficiaries," he said.
The chief minister was speaking at a programme in some villages of Ladwa constituency, an official statement said.
The chief minister had earlier said that the state government will provide plots to the underprivileged families, fulfilling its commitment to ensure 'a roof over every head".
Saini has in the past targeted the previous Congress government, alleging they only made hollow promises of giving 100-square yard plots to the poor.
They neither handed over possession nor provided registry papers, Saini had said.
Meanwhile, the chief minister said starting from August 15, government hospitals in 10 districts that have been upgraded with modern facilities and equipment on the lines of private hospitals will begin offering treatment for all types of diseases. This initiative aims to provide the people of the state with high-quality healthcare services at affordable rates, he said.
During the visit, the chief minister listened to public grievances and directed officials on the spot to address them promptly.
He announced Rs 55.41 lakh for a clean drinking water pipeline in village Dagali, Rs 52.64 lakh for village Beed Kalwa, and Rs 27.15 lakh for village Dhanani.
At Deeg, he laid the foundation stone for a primary health centre to be constructed at a cost of over Rs 6.38 crore.
Additionally, the chief minister announced Rs 21 lakh for development works in each of the four villages and assured that all demand letters submitted by the respective sarpanches would be forwarded to the concerned departments for necessary action.
Saini said that farmers in Kurukshetra district cultivate sunflowers on a large scale. Keeping this in view, the government has decided to establish a sunflower oil mill in Shahbad.
Additionally, land has been identified in Rewari for setting up a mustard oil mill, he said.
These two mills will help ensure that farmers receive fair prices for their sunflower and mustard crops, he said.
He further said that Haryana is the first state in the country where all crops are being procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP).
'Moreover, under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, farmers are compensated when they receive lower market prices for vegetables and other crops," he said.
The chief minister said that families with an annual income of less than Rs 1.80 lakh are being provided cooking gas cylinders at a subsidised rate of Rs 500 per cylinder.
Around 18 lakh families across the state are currently benefiting from this scheme, he said.
Similarly, under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, free medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh is being provided to eligible citizens. For senior citizens above 70 years of age, the treatment coverage has been extended up to Rs 10 lakh. The state government has released Rs 6 crore for this scheme.
He further added that kidney patients are now receiving free dialysis services in government hospitals. PTI CORR SUN HVA

10,000 cops, anti-drone system: Delhi police gear up for Independence Day
With Independence Day approaching, robust security measures have been rolled out across the national capital. Delhi Police said on Thursday that over 10,000 personnel, including paramilitary forces and special commandos, have been deployed to ensure law and order. Security preparations also include intensified foot and night patrolling, plainclothes teams in sensitive areas, and multiple drills. A senior official told news agency PTI that multilayered security will be in place at the Red Fort, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address the nation. In addition to on-ground personnel, advanced surveillance tools - including CCTV cameras, drone detection systems, and facial recognition technology - will be used to monitor the venue and surrounding areas. Snipers and rooftop teams will be positioned on high-rises near the Red Fort, while access to restricted zones will be tightly controlled. Security preparations also include intensified foot and night patrolling, plainclothes teams in sensitive areas, and multiple drills. Cyber units are monitoring social media platforms to detect and neutralise any potential online threats or misinformation campaigns. Coordination with central intelligence agencies has been strengthened, and anti-sabotage checks, vehicle barricading, and identity verifications are underway across the city. Special teams are on round-the-clock duty at airports, metro stations, railway stations, and inter-state bus terminals. In his first major directive since taking charge, Commissioner Singh has banned the use of sub-conventional aerial platforms - including drones, paragliders, and hot air balloons - over Delhi between August 2 and 16. The order notes that such platforms could be exploited by anti-social elements or terror groups to conduct airborne attacks or para-jumping stunts. Foot patrols have been stepped up in public areas such as markets, bus terminals, and metro stations, with senior officers instructed to personally oversee preparations on the ground. Surprise inspections and flag marches are planned across districts to boost public confidence and deter miscreants. Markets end in green despite Trump tariffs; DII buying lifts sentiment
Domestic markets recovered from three-month lows to close higher on Thursday, buoyed by strong buying from domestic institutional investors (DIIs) and optimism over an upcoming summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The US's decision to double tariffs on Indian goods — in response to India's continued purchase of Russian energy — dampened investor sentiment earlier in the day. The Sensex fell nearly 1 per cent during the session, hitting an intraday low of 79,811 — its weakest level since May 9. However, it rebounded to close at 80,623, gaining 79 points (0.1 per cent). The Nifty also dropped to a three-month low of 24,344 before recovering to end at 24,596, up 22 points (0.09 per cent). The total market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies rose by Rs 16,000 crore to Rs 445.4 trillion. The gains were driven by strong domestic flows, with DIIs pumping in Rs 10,864 crore into equities — their highest single-day purchase since April 7. By contrast, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) offloaded shares worth Rs 4,997 crore. Markets also found support from diplomatic developments. Russia announced it had agreed with the US on a venue for the Putin-Trump meeting and had initiated discussions on key issues, following a recent interaction between Putin and Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff. Global markets rallied on hopes of a potential truce in the Russia–Ukraine conflict, and possibly a softening of Trump's stance on countries like India that continue to buy Russian energy. The US views such purchases as supporting the Russian economy and delaying efforts to end the war, which is now entering its fourth year. On Tuesday, Trump accused India of fuelling Russia's war efforts and imposed an additional 25 per cent tariff, escalating trade tensions after months of negotiation. The tariffs come just ahead of an August 8 deadline set by Trump for Russia to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine. 'Optimism around a potential India–US trade settlement is boosting sentiment, with a 20-day window still open for negotiations. We expect the market to stay range-bound, closely tracking developments on the US–Russia peace talks, India's response to US tariffs, and the domestic earnings outlook,' said Siddhartha Khemka, Head of Research – Wealth Management, Motilal Oswal Financial Services. Market breadth was weak, with 2,297 stocks declining and 1,751 advancing on the BSE. HDFC Bank, up 0.6 per cent, was the top contributor to the Sensex's gains, followed by Eternal, which rose 0.9 per cent. Brent crude traded higher at $68.2 a barrel, gaining 0.6 per cent. 'Nifty managed to hold above the 24,450 support level at close, reaffirming its strength as a key floor — the lower boundary of the previous consolidation range that led to the rally. A decisive move above 24,800 could pave the way for a further rebound toward the 25,000 mark,' said Ajit Mishra, Senior Vice-President – Research, Religare Broking.
