"Delhi suffered 11 years of misgovernance, now seeing results of 100 days of good governance," BJP MP Yogendra Chandolia

New Delhi [India], June 2 (ANI): BJP MP Yogendra Chandolia has praised the BJP-led Delhi government's 100-day performance while launching a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for what he called eleven years of misgovernance. Chandolia highlighted improvements in sanitation, healthcare, and transport, claiming the current administration has delivered visible change in contrast to the AAP government's alleged failures. Speaking to ANI, Chandolia said, 'Delhi suffered eleven years of misgovernance, and now it's seeing the results of a hundred days of good governance. In just one monsoon, work that was neglected for over a decade is finally being done--silt is being cleared from roads and drains that were never cleaned before.' Chandolia alleged that fake billing was rampant during the AAP government's tenure, while basic services like drinking water remained out of reach for many citizens. 'Under the previous government, fake billing thrived while citizens struggled for drinking water,' he said. Aiming at AAP's unfulfilled transport promises, he said, 'Kejriwal had promised 10,000 electric buses in eleven years. Still, it is under the BJP-led government that new buses are being delivered.' He also accused the AAP government of depriving citizens of vital healthcare benefits. 'Due to Kejriwal's refusal, the people of Delhi were denied the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Today, citizens above 70 years receive health insurance coverage of Rs 10 lakh through a combined effort of the Prime Minister's and Delhi government's schemes.' He added, 'The previous government boasted about a health and education model but failed to equip hospitals with basic facilities like diagnostic machines. In contrast, within a hundred days, visible change has begun.' He also underscored improvements in sanitation and waste management. 'Garbage piled up for years is being removed from the streets and drains. The landfill mountains in places like Ghazipur are finally shrinking. If this progress continues for 365 days, Delhi will truly witness a transformation into a cleaner, more beautiful capital,' he said. Earlier, BJP leader Mohan Singh Bisht praised the transformative first hundred days of the BJP-led Delhi government, highlighting significant achievements and a proactive approach that has restored public trust after 27 years. He credited Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for demonstrating strong willpower in driving Delhi's development while criticising the AAP for continuing to suppress public voices in the Assembly. After completing 100 days in office as the Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta said it was not just a responsibility but a 'politics centred on public service, and policies that are for public welfare.' Rekha Govt celebrates 100 Days as 'Seva Utsav'

New Delhi: To mark the completion of 100 days in office, the BJP-led Delhi government organised a public program titled "100 din Seva ke" at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday. The event, attended by citizens from across the city, was headlined by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and actor Anupam Kher, who together outlined the achievements of the new administration since taking office. During her address, Chief Minister Gupta detailed the initiatives rolled out across sectors including healthcare, education, women's welfare, pollution control, and urban development. She emphasized that her government is focused on delivering tangible improvements in the lives of Delhi's residents. In the healthcare sector, Gupta criticized the previous administration for not implementing the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Delhi. She stated that her government approved the central health scheme in its very first cabinet meeting, allocating ₹13,000 crore to provide free medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh per person. Within the first 100 days, over 650 people had benefited from the scheme, with 80 hospitals already enrolled. Highlighting the need for better healthcare infrastructure, Gupta noted that while the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends two hospital beds per 1,000 people, Delhi currently has only 0.42. She committed to increasing this to three beds per 1,000 people and acknowledged severe staffing shortages, including a 20% deficit in doctors, 30% in nurses, and 40% in paramedical staff. She also pointed out that corruption and a lack of medicines plagued the health system earlier, but improvements are underway. Addressing urban poverty, the Chief Minister spoke about the neglect faced by slum dwellers. She accused past governments of treating these residents as mere vote banks, failing to provide basic amenities such as drinking water, sewer lines, and toilets. She assured the public that her government would not demolish slums, but rather improve livingstandards. She announced a ₹750 crore budget to bring proper sanitation and water infrastructure to slum areas, reaffirming that "Delhi runs because of these people" and they deserve dignity and basic facilities. Gupta also emphasized her administration's focus on women's welfare. She said many women were inspired to see her as Chief Minister and that her government is committed to addressing their concerns, including safety, dignity, financial independence, and childcare. Security measures have been ramped up with the installation of CCTV cameras at key intersections and street lighting in previously dark areas. Along with this, preparations have been made to open 500 crèches where working women will be able to keep their children safe. As part of the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, the government has allocated ₹51,00 crore to provide a monthly assistance of ₹2,500 to eligible women. Gupta said that six planning meetings have already been held for the scheme and efforts are ongoing to ensure that all eligible women benefit. However, she did not disclose when the disbursement of funds would begin. In the field of education, Gupta acknowledged that while Delhi has 1,071 government schools and 1,650 private schools, most parents prefer the latter due to the poor state of public institutions. She pledged a comprehensive revamp of government schools, introducing smart classrooms, computer and technical education, andopening 1,000 libraries specifically for government school students. Additionally, language learning centers will be launched to broaden students' skills. She pointed out that earlier, private schools would hike fees without scrutiny, but now measures are being put in place to regulate and improve the education system. The government is also preparing students for competitive exams by offering scholarships and additional resources. New Delhi:The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a scathing critique of the BJP-led administration, accusing it of inaction and attempting to take credit for projects initiated during AAP's tenure. AAP's Delhi state president Saurabh Bhardwaj alleged that the BJP government has failed to implement any new initiatives over the past three months. Instead, he claimed, it has focused on rebranding existing schemes and infrastructure built by the AAP government. Bhardwaj specifically criticized the BJP over the Mohalla Clinics, a flagship health initiative of the AAP. He claimed that the BJP is attempting to repaint and rename these clinics as 'Ayushman Arogya Mandirs,' an effort he described as a deceptive public relations move. 'Putting up posters and banners does not equal governance. The people of Delhi are well aware of who has actually worked for them,' Bhardwaj said. New Delhi:In a significant move to bolster public transport infrastructure, the Delhi government has announced plans to deploy 2,080 new electric buses by the end of 2025. However, the ambitious target comes at a time when the capital is grappling with an acute shortage of operational buses, leading to mounting pressure on commuters and the existing public transport system. On May 2, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta flagged off 400 nine-meter-long electric mini-buses under the newly launched 'Devi' scheme. These buses are currently being operated on shorter routes—many of which were previously underserved. The chief minister reiterated the government's commitment to rolling out the full fleet of 2,080 electric buses within the year. Despite the progress, the absence of 12-meter-long standard electric buses from city roads has raised concerns over the feasibility of meeting the year-end deadline. Adding to the challenge, around 1,500 buses operating under the cluster scheme have already been withdrawn, exacerbating the shortage and leading to overcrowded bus stops across the city. © 2025 All Rights Reserved. Sources said nationwide registration camps will be held for enrolling eligible beneficiaries under schemes such as Ayushman Bharat Yojana for senior citizens as Modi government marks its 11th anniversary by deciding to focus on saturation and by removing obstacles holding up last-minute delivery. Officials said focus to take benefits of programmes to the poor, the needy and the last person will be the theme of the anniversary celebrations as PM Narendra Modi has repeatedly underlined the need for complete saturation of government schemes. In a break from practice, the government has decided to do away with publicity blitz that has been staple for such milestones, and instead engage directly with citizens, especially those benefiting from government schemes, the sources said. "PM Narendra Modi wants to turn this into an opportunity for listening and connecting," said a senior government functionary. "The spirit is not of celebration but of connection. The idea is to understand what more needs to be done how to do it better," said a source familiar with discussions in the Prime Minister's Office and at other higher levels. Delhi govt to present 100-day report card to Delhiites today

The Delhi government will present a detailed account of its achievements under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during a public event at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday, marking the completion of its first 100 days in power. The event is expected to serve both as a celebration of progress and a platform to engage with citizens, inviting feedback and suggestions for future governance. The BJP government, which took office in February, marked the 100-day milestone on Friday by unveiling a 22-page workbook titled 'Kaam Karne Wali Sarkar -- 100 Din Seva Ke' at the Delhi Secretariat. Cabinet ministers Ashish Sood, Kapil Mishra, and Ravinder Indraj Singh were present during the launch of the document, which outlines key initiatives rolled out since the administration came to power. For the BJP, which returned to power in Delhi after a gap of over 27 years, the workbook serves not only as a summary of completed tasks but also as a statement of intent. The workbook details a wide range of efforts in sectors such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, and welfare. It includes a Rs 1 lakh crore budget allocation for the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, a Rs 5,100 crore provision for a Rs 2,500 monthly assistance scheme aimed at supporting underprivileged women, and the introduction of the Vay Vandana Yojana, which provides free healthcare for senior citizens. The government also emphasised its commitment to transparency by tabling the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports in the Assembly. Chief Minister Gupta described the completion of 100 days as a moment of "decisive" and "impactful" governance. She emphasised that the administration had worked tirelessly every day in service of Delhi's two crore residents. She noted that the workbook is a documentation not only of promises made but also of promises fulfilled. Taking to X on Saturday, CM Gupta said, "When you gave me the opportunity to serve Delhi, it was not just a responsibility but a resolve to have politics centred on public service, and policies that are for public welfare." "In these 100 days, we have worked effectively towards realising every promise. Our priority was clear -- a development that can be seen as well as felt. Cleanliness, security, women empowerment and e-governance -- on every front, our endeavour has been to make Delhi a strong, safe and inclusive capital," she added. Gupta credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for guiding the government's actions. "This has been possible only due to the inspiration, guidance and vision of 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas' of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The trust of the people of Delhi is my biggest strength. The foundation of change has been laid, the pace of development will not stop now," she said. Reaffirming her government's commitment to sustained progress, she added, "Delhi will now continue to move forward with the resolve of good governance and service."

Pages of progress: Delhi CM brings out workbook on first 100-day wins

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Delhi government marked its first 100 days in office on Friday with a show of confidence and purpose, unveiling a 22-page workbook that seeks to define its early imprint on the Capital. Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta called the 100-day mark a milestone of 'decisive and impactful' governance, asserting that every day of the administration so far had been devoted to the service of Delhi's 20 million residents. The workbook, she said, was a record not just of promises made, but of promises kept. A public event has been scheduled at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on May 31, where the government will showcase its progress and seek feedback from citizens. Unveiled at the Delhi Secretariat in the presence of Cabinet ministers Ashish Sood, Kapil Mishra, and Ravinder Indraraj Singh, the workbook outlines a raft of initiatives rolled out since the BJP assumed power in February—from health care and education reforms to infrastructure upgrades and welfare a party returning to power in the city after over 27 years, the event is not just symbolic—it is appears intended as a statement of intent. Speaking to Hindustan Times on the sidelines of the event, Gupta said the government would soon bring in an ordinance to regulate private school fees, with the Assembly session expected to be held in July. The workbook, titled Kaam Karne Wali Sarkar – 100 Din Seva Ke, details key initiatives across the health, education, infrastructure and welfare sectors. These include a ₹1 lakh crore allocation for the implementation of Ayushman Bharat Yojana, a ₹5,100 crore provision for a ₹2,500 monthly assistance scheme for poor women, the tabling of CAG reports in the Assembly to promote transparency, and the rollout of Vay Vandana Yojana, a free healthcare programme for senior citizens. The document also notes that the setting up of 1,139 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs has been initiated, 300 dialysis machines are being installed in government hospitals, and 75 CM Shree Schools have received approval. Other measures highlighted include the Cabinet's clearance of a bill to regulate private school fees, the flagging off of 460 DEVI buses for last-mile connectivity, approval of 70 mechanical sweeping machines, and the launch of a special sanitation drive. Gupta added that over the next 10 days, the workbook will be shared at public meetings across all 70 Assembly constituencies and municipal wards, where MLAs, ministers, councillors, and MPs will not only communicate the government's achievements but also collect feedback for future planning. '...Initiatives like the expansion of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the Yamuna cleaning campaign, and Mahila Samridhi Yojana reflect the direction of these 100 days. This workbook will be distributed in all the assemblies so that development work can be carried forward with public participation and suggestions from citizens. This is not just a 100-day report, but a document of our commitment to change,' the CM said in a post on X. 'This workbook is a living document of Delhi's journey of development. It's not a report card, but a dynamic account—new work will continue to be added to it,' she said. While showcasing the BJP's early efforts, Gupta also launched a pointed critique of previous governments. She said earlier regimes squandered public funds through corruption, whereas the current government has prioritised public service. 'Those were governments that sought fame; we are a government that delivers. They indulged in luxuries, while we are committed to service. They decorated palaces with corruption; we are shaping Delhi with integrity,' Gupta said. She described the government's around-the-clock work ethic as its 'biggest achievement', asserting that 'working honestly 24x7 for the people of Delhi' is a new model of governance in itself. 'While the government does not claim to have transformed everything in 100 days, it proudly asserts that these initial steps have significantly strengthened the trust of the people. Day or night, the government has consistently worked on Delhi's streets in the interest of the public,' Gupta said. 'Both central and state governments are currently working in unison as a 'double engine' government to serve the people. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi is making continuous strides toward becoming a developed city,' she said. However, the Delhi Congress was quick to dismiss the celebration. Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav called the first 100 days of the Rekha Gupta government 'totally disappointing', alleging that it had failed to address key issues like rising school fees. 'During the BJP government's first 100 days, private schools continued to hike fees unchecked, and the so-called education bill meant to regulate them has neither been made public nor seen by anyone. Former CM Sheila Dikshit had handed over a green and healthy city, but Kejriwal's first term left it ailing, and his second term pushed it into the ICU. Now, in just 100 days, the Rekha Gupta government has put the Capital on a ventilator,' said Yadav. Yadav further said that the BJP in the run-up to the Delhi assembly elections had promised LPG cylinders to the poor at a subsidised rate of ₹500 and free cylinders on Holi and Diwali. 'Nothing has been done so far to fulfil these promises,' he said. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj called the workbook a 'false report card', and questioned the status of several flagship promises. 'Where is the ₹2,500 promised to women? When will the sacked bus marshals get their jobs back? And when will the government issue an order to roll back the unjustified fee hikes in private schools?' he said.
