Liam Gallagher and children join forces for huge campaign ahead of Oasis tour

Daily Mirror2 days ago

Liam Gallagher has posed with three of his children for a mega Burberry advert just weeks before he's due to hit the road with Oasis, and it's a fitting campaign
Liam Gallagher's kids are a chip off the old block as they perfected his moody glare for a fitting Burberry campaign. The Oasis frontman joined forces with his three oldest children, Molly Moorish-Gallagher, 27, and sons Lennon, 25, and Gene, 23, for the photoshoot.
The hitmaker and his children are fronting Burberry's Festival campaign ahead of a summer of live music - including Oasis' hotly anticipated reunion tour. Next month Liam and his older brother Noel will take to the stage at Cardiff's Principality Stadium – 16 years after the band split.

It's claimed that Liam, 52, has signed a staggering £1million with the global fashion brand for their collection, which pays homage to British identities and live music. Posing in front of a motorhome, Liam and his children all modelled waterproofs from the collection – and it's no surprise he was wearing his signature Parka coat.

Meanwhile, daughter Molly exuded festival glamour and style in a similar parka and a pair of matching wellies. Eldest son Lennon, lead singer of the band Automotive, rocked a classic Burberry tartan rainmac and shorts, and despite the collection being for a festival, opted for a more modest pair of trainers and black socks.
Gene, who fronts the band Villanelle, kept his look very relaxed but stylish in a striking green jacket, which he completed with a more suiting pair of black trousers and boots. Although the collection was originally released in the summer of 2018, Liam's Christopher Bailey-designed jacket is being re-released this July ahead of Oasis's widely anticipated return.
Lennon's look bears a striking similarity to his dad in the 1995 music video for Oasis's mega-anthem, Wonderwall. The campaign echoes Burberry as the go-to look at festivals, with the likes of Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Reading and Leeds coming up in the next few months.
"Burberry sits at the centre of the summer calendar," said Chief Creative Officer Daniel Lee. He added: "It's both a means of creative expression and a go-to uniform for festival goers."

Reflecting on the campaign, Lee added: "Think of the campaign like a collage. Capturing off-duty fans and headline acts in between gigs."
With Liam and his kids fronting the campaign, alongside names such as producer and DJ Goldie, Alexa Chung and Cara Delevingne, it's certainly fit to be rolled straight out for festival season. Burberry believes the "unique casting" of the Gallaghers and Goldie reinforces the legacy and appeal of the brand.

Unfortunately for Oasis fans, they aren't the soundtrack for the campaign. That duty has fallen to Liquid's hit, Sweet Harmony, which has been a staple at British festivals since its release in 1991. Ahead of Oasis taking to the stage next month, fans have been wondering if there's a future for the once-warring siblings.
When asked by a fan if they can have more dates, ideally a string of shows at Knebworth playing to 125,000 people, Liam replied: "Let's see how this tour goes and if we still love each other after it."
When asked by the Mirror how rehearsals are going, Liam told us: "Dangerous." Meanwhile, videos have circulated on social media, with audio clips of the band apparently rehearsing the anthems Cigarettes & Alcohol and Fade Away. He told fans that it was his idea to have both songs on the setlist for the most anticipated tour.

'I went to Benidorm on holiday and couldn't believe cost of a pint'

A man, who is known as the Benidorm Fanatic to his TikTok followers, recently headed to the popular holiday destination and was left gobsmacked by the price of a drink A Brit was gobsmacked by the cost of a pint in Benidorm, despite being a frequent visitor to Spain. Known amongst his TikTok followers as the Benidorm Fanatic, he recounts his visit to Uncle Ron's, a bar renowned for its affordably priced pints, where he found himself pleasantly surprised by just how much bang he got for his buck. In his popular video, he raves: "I tell you what, I believe it's actually a very, very nice pint as well, so it comes to the equivalent of about 84p in British money. Let's go and try it out, shall we? Let's give it a try." ‌ Upon reaching the bar, he continued: "So there you go, I'll give you a euro, a €1 pint, and I'll take that. Let's try this €1 pint. Look at that - a nice, clean, cold pint. It's got a nice, good head on it - let's try it." ‌ He enthusiastically shared his verdict, saying: "That is actually one of the best pints I've had in one of the popular bars. That is actually one of the best pints I've had in Benidorm to be honest with you. €1, I'll drink them all day." The video quickly gained traction, prompting viewers to share their impressions and even their own tales of Benidorm adventures. Among the comments, one user exclaimed: "Wow," while another who'd been there on holiday exclaimed: "I was there last week." Someone else who'd be there said: "Lovely pint. Had many." Whil a fellow TikToker simply added: "Bargain." Uncle Ron's, a hit with British holidaymakers in Benidorm, is famed for its budget-friendly tipples and hearty meals. ‌ TripAdvisor reviews boast of the establishment's offerings from breakfast through to dinner, with an average rating of 3.8 out of 5 on the platform, suggesting it's a must-visit for those seeking a decent meal and drinks while away. In the review section, one visitor commented: "Had a fantastic breakfast at Ron's today. Lovely English produce. Great service. Brilliant staff. "A massive group came in, but they were serviced promptly. Don't know how they manage with so few staff." ‌ Another shared their experience: "Last day we visited for some lunch before heading to airport. Left full, which is always a good thing. In all my times of going here, never left unhappy at the service nor the food - always really good." A third reviewer added: "We went many times during our two-week holiday. The staff are friendly and extremely hard working day and night. "Cheapest drinks you will find in town and food to suit everyone (daily deal only 6 euros). It's not a stylish 5* restaurant but then you wouldn't expect it. "For drinks just go to the bar like a normal bar. Always busy Sunday and Friday, so expect to book if you want a Sunday lunch. Would we go again? Certainly would!"

Lorde ‘pretty keen' to ‘pull some strings' and make Glastonbury appearance

This draws speculation as to whether the singer from New Zealand, who does not feature on the official line-up, will play during one of the slots marked TBA. The full scheduling for this year was announced earlier in the week and includes sets from Irish rap trio Kneecap and singer Charli XCX, as well as headline performances from British pop band The 1975, Neil Young and his band the Chrome Hearts, and US pop singer Olivia Rodrigo. Asked if she would be playing at the festival, Lorde told Jo Whiley's BBC Radio 2 show: 'You know, I'm pretty keen, honestly. 'I feel like, because the album's going to be coming out, I am quite tempted by what's going on, because I've got lots of friends playing as well. We'll see if I can pull some strings and get there.' The 28-year-old is friends with a number of singers including Brat star Charli XCX, who is playing the Other Stage on the Saturday night. Earlier in the year, the British singer played at US festival Coachella where Lorde made an appearance to perform their collaborative version of Girl, So Confusing. The singer, whose real name is Ella Yelich-O'Connor, has played at Glastonbury before and performed on the Other Stage in 2017 and the Pyramid Stage in 2022. Asked what it was like to walk onto the Pyramid Stage, she said: 'Absolutely unbelievable, enormous. I was shooketh at the scale. So many cameras … oh goodness. So beautiful, so amazing. 'In 2017 we played the Other Stage, which was so amazing, that was kind of sunset and very moody and just the best. It's the best festival in the world.' The singer shot to fame with her chart-topping single Royals in 2013, which was included in her album Pure Heroine. She has since released the albums Melodrama (2017) and Solar Power (2021), with her fourth studio album, Virgin, to be released on June 27. Glastonbury is running from June 25 to June 29 with performances from the likes of US rapper Doechii, UK singer Raye and veteran rocker Sir Rod Stewart, who will be playing during the coveted legends slot.

Freakier Friday trailer sees Lindsay Lohan and Jamie-Lee Curtis in four-way swap

The sequel to 2003 blockbuster Freaky Friday sees Jamie-Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reunite for another body swap, alongside her teen daughter and stepdaughter, who are intent on wreaking havoc Lindsay Lohan and Jamie-Lee Curtis have baffled fans with a chaotic four-way body swap in the new Freakier Friday trailer. Dropped yesterday by Disney, the trailer shows fans what they can expect from the highly anticipated movie when it's released in August - and it's confusing to say the least. Following on from 2003 blockbuster Freaky Friday, which saw a teenage Lindsay Lohan's character Anna embroiled in a dramatic body swap with her mother Tess, played by Jamie-Lee Curtis. A freak accident and a fortune cookie spell saw the battling mother-daughter duo forced to live each others' lives as they get trapped in the others' body. ‌ And 22 years later, the plot is reimagined, but this time it involves two Gen Z teens, who are also at loggerheads. Lindsay's character Anna is about to get married to her partner Eric Davies, played by Manny Jacinto. ‌ But Anna's daughter Harper (Julia Butters) and Eric's teen Lily (Sophia Hammons) are throwing a spanner in the works, with their contempt for their new blended family situation. The new trailer sees chaos ensue, with Harper labelling her new British step-sister "a little demon thing with an obnoxious accent." We then see a glimpse of Anna's bachelorette party, in which she and her mum Tess Coleman have their fortune read by Vanessa Bayer's character. They are told they have another lesson to learn by "walking in each other's paths". The fortune teller says: "Change the hearts you know are wrong, to reach the place where you belong," before Anna and Tess are caught up in yet another body swap. But this time, it's with their warring stepdaughters, with Anna swapping with her own daughter Harper and Tess in Lily's body. In what appears to be a nod to Lindsay's 1998 first big film The Parent Trap, the teens then begin to formulate a plan to break their parents up for good. Chad Michael Murray reprises his role as Anna's first love Jake, who the teens decide she should reunite with to stop the wedding. ‌ To complicate things further, Lindsay's villainous co-star from The Parent Trap, Elaine Hendrix, who played her wicked stepmother Meredith Blake, will also make a cameo. In November 2024, Lindsay discussed her upcoming role reprisal with Jimmy Fallon. The Mean Girls star explained: "It's just been such a labour of love to make happen. Jamie [Lee Curtis] and I... even at the table read, we were just smiling so big that we couldn't... I don't think we were acting well because we were so happy. But the movie's funny - it's really funny." ‌ In September last year, Jamie-Lee Curtis spoke about her reunion with Lindsay after over two decades. She told Extra: "So fun. We just did it this summer… We came together for 42 days and just laughed a lot, cried a lot. "It's a four-way switch… so it was intense. We have these two young beautiful actors with us, so I think you guys are going to love it." She added: "It's joyful, you know, it's a movie that people love and people are going to love this." Freaky Friday was a remake of the 1976 Disney movie, which saw Oscar-winning actress Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris take part in the original body swap. Some diehard fans are asking for another cameo in the upcoming sequel, with one tweeting: "The ONLY cameo I want to see is Jodie OG Freaky Friday GOAT."
