Boomer Bloodstock purchases share in super stallion Zoustar for $1.1m
Boomer Bloodstock, for an unnamed client, forked out the seven-figure sum for the 1/60th share offered by Qatar Bloodstock following days of bidding for the Group 1 winner sprinter turned super sire.

Bidding for the rare share was already at $820,000 on the final day of the online sale with 20 bids made for a slice of the stallion.
Qatar Bloodstock sold a similar 1/60th share last year for $1.3m to Bangaloe Stud.
Zoustar stands for one of the highest fees of any stallion in Australia at $275,000 this season alongside Godolphin's Too Darn Hot while Newgate's Extreme Choice ($330,000) is the benchmark.
Zoustar is expected to cover around 150 mares during the 2025 breeding season with Boomer Bloodstock's share ensuring they will get a portion of the income.
A sire of 65 stakes winners, Zoustar has produced Group 1 winners Zougotcha Joliestar, Climbing Star and Schwarz in recent times.

Horse racing: Godolphin Australia and James Cummings part ways, launching new era with the likes of Chris Waller, Ciaron Maher, Anthony Freedman
Cummings, the grandson of Melbourne Cup legend Bart, has accepted a lucrative training position in racing mecca Hong Kong from next year. As part of its shift in approach, Godolphin sold 25 ready-to-race horses for almost $2.2 million on Inglis Digital a fortnight ago, including South Australian Derby place-getter Lavalier for $380,000 and group 3-winner Pisces for $330,000. While the father-son Freedman combination has prepared a number of young horses for Godolphin in the past, including 2022 Blue Diamond winner Daumier, Sam Freedman sees the racing giant's change in strategy as a winning move. 'It's an exciting change for the whole Godolphin brand, and exciting for Australian racing to see their stock spread out,' Freedman said. There's obviously a lot to work through and there will be little hiccups on the way, I'm sure, but on the whole it feels like a really positive change. 'I think, ultimately, the one-trainer model is becoming more and more rare.' While Freedman said they did not lobby for any horses, they felt privileged to be handed ready-made group 1 star Tom Kitten. Loading 'He'd be the highest-rated horse we've got,' the 2023 Melbourne Cup-winning trainer said. 'As an established weight-for-age horse, he's right at the top. 'It's very rare that you get a horse like that in the stable that's able to compete from 1400m to 2000m at weight-for-age against the best horses in the country. It's exciting.' Freedman said the four-year-old gelding would likely resume in the group 1 1400m Memsie Stakes At Caulfield on August 30 before heading to the group 1 1600m Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington a fortnight later. 'If he's really flying along, and it looks like a realistic target, that could mean he'll line up in the Cox Plate,' Freedman said. 'But his first two runs are sort of pencilled in, and then we are just going to assess him after that.' Godolphin Australia managing director Andy Makiv and racing and bloodstock manager Jason Walsh oversaw the mass relocation of their horses. 'It certainly wasn't an easy decision, and it doesn't preclude opportunities for others (trainers) in the future,' Makiv said. Godolphin's breeding arm Darley will continue to stand stallions, including those that raced during Cumming's tenure such as Anamoe, Bivouac, Broadsiding and Cylinder. But their number of runners has fallen away significantly in recent years. After a high of 1276 starters in the 2018/19 season, those figures have dropped to 804 in 2023/24 and 680 last season. But Makiv denied this will be an ongoing trend. 'Moving away from a private training model gives us greater business agility,' he said at the end of April. Trainer Mark Minervini hopes for grey day at Rosehill with new stable addition Hanau
Newcastle trainer Mark Minervini is looking for a quick return from his stable's newest edition at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday. Minervini and DF Bloodstock Pty Ltd purchased Hanau when the gelding was recently sold as part of the latest Godolphin dispersal on the Inglis Digital online sale platform last month. Godolphin, which officially moved to a public training model from Friday after James Cummings' decision to take up a training contract in Hong Kong, raised close to $2.2 million in the sale on July 16 where the stock were sold from prices ranging from $1250 to $380,000 for Group 1 SA Derby placegetter Lavalier. 'We paid $100,000 for Hanau and we thought he was quite cheap,' Minervini said. 'We patted ourselves on the back after the sale. 'We had a bit left, we thought he might bring $150,000 to $200,000. 'I suppose there was about 25 of them sold so there was a bit to choose from and that might have worked in our favour but we're not complaining.' Formerly trained by James Cummings, Hanau is one of the best-bred gallopers in training being by Snitzel out of Snow White, the sister to former champion juvenile and successful stallion Pierro. 'He arrived in mint condition,' Minervini said. 'He's a very nice horse that's been easy to handle. 'I've only given him one strong gallop, that was on Tuesday morning he worked well and he pulled up well. 'I've just had to keep him ticking over since he got off the float. 'He looked pretty good to my eye when he arrived. He was pretty forward.' 'He won on the heavy last time too and he is a grey by Snitzel, so he's got a few things in his favour if the rain keeps falling. 'If he can hold his form out of his last start, I'd expect him to be pretty competitive.' Former Godolphin apprentice Zac Lloyd takes the reins aboard Hanau on Saturday having previously won aboard the galloper on two occasions.

Darren Beadman set to link with Chris Waller Racing next season
FORMER champion jockey Darren Beadman has been snapped up by Chris Waller Racing. The Hall of Fame Inductee makes the move to Sydney's premier stable following a decade of loyal service at Godolphin, most recently as the right hand man to head trainer James Cummings. Beadman's move to Chris Waller Racing coincides with the decision by international powerhouse Godolphin to downsize its Australian operation. In announcing the acquisition of Beadman to its ranks, leading trainer Chris Waller said the 'legendary figure' will play a key role in the stable moving forward. 'I'm thrilled to say that Darren Beadman will be joining our team from August 1,' Waller said. 'Darren is a legendary figure in the world of racing and represents the pinnacle of racing achievement. 'Having been a champion jockey and more recently a senior figure at Godolphin, I know he will bring excellence to our team. 'I had the pleasure of working with Darren earlier in my Sydney career and his professionalism, insight and passion for the sport remains as strong as ever.
