Outback Wrangler Matt Wright's Top End, NT, home to be sold with pet crocodile

Outback Wrangler Matt Wright is selling his slice of tropical paradise — with some sharp-toothed extras. The wildlife wrangler-turned-TV-star has listed his designer rural escape at 124 Virginia Rd in Virginia, Northern Territory, throwing in his pet saltwater crocodile Spicy to sweeten the deal. The just under 8 acres property hit the market with a $1.39 million price guide. It features glass walls, open-plan entertaining zones, and Spicy the saltie living in a custom-built pen out back. In an Instagram tour, Wright gave fans a 'crackin'' guided walk-through of the home. He and wife Kaia transformed the house over the past nine years with an extensive renovation. 'If you really, really want the place ... I'll even leave you with Spicy,' Wright said with a laugh, before the massive croc launches from his pond with a splash. 'Whoa! Hey Spicy ... Look out.' From sweat and tears to tropical luxury Wright built the home from the ground up, describing it in the video as a product of 'hot sweat and tears'. The result is, according to a stilted, architectural retreat that feels like a minimalist treehouse suspended in the mahogany canopy. Inside, the home boasts soaring ceilings, polished concrete floors, a chef's kitchen, designer finishes, and enormous wraparound verandahs capturing the breeze and bushland views. Downstairs is set up for guests or teens, while the backyard features a croc-safe viewing area of Spicy's enclosure. 'This is it – crackin' place,' Wright said. 'If you're interested in a beautiful rural place out here in Virginia,' Wright said at the end of the clip, 'contact the lads at Ray White and have a yarn to them. 'They've got more photos, more footage, you know, all that sh*t.' Reality fame and real-life fallout Wright rose to national prominence as the star of Outback Wrangler, an adrenaline-fuelled reality show following his work as a chopper pilot and animal relocator in Australia's wildest corners. He is now before the courts over the 2022 helicopter crash that killed his co-star Chris Wilson. NT Police allege he attempted to pervert the course of justice following the crash, which also left pilot Sebastian Robinson permanently injured. Wright has pleaded not guilty to all charges. No open homes are listed as of Thursday. Whether the buyer keeps the croc or not remains to be seen.

Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ sequel to be split

Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ Sequel will be released in two parts in 2027. The Lethal Weapon star directed the 2004 original and he's been busy working on a follow-up - The Resurrection of the Christ, which will be split in two and the films will be released just 40 days apart. The first instalment is due on Good Friday on March 26, 2027 and the second on Ascension Day on May 6, 2027. The news was revealed in a post on Instagram which gave the release dates. Jim Caviezel - who played Jesus Christ in the 2004 film - will be returning to the role for the next two movies alongside Monica Bellucci as Mary Magdalene. Original cast members Maia Morgenstern and Francesco De Vito will also be returning. Gibson has been working on the sequel for many years and previously spoke about the difficulties he was facing in his attempts to bring the story to the big screen. During an appearance on EWTN's The World Over YouTube show, he explained: "Well it's a huge subject, and it's not a linear narrative so that in order to have it mean something and resonate for almost anybody that watches it ... "You have to juxtapose the central event that I'm trying to tell with everything else around it in the future, in the past, and in other realms, and that's kind of getting a little sci-fi out there. "It's a big story, it's a difficult concept and it's taken me a long time to focus and find a way to tell that story and really delivers to someone who may not know anything about the central story ...
