Brady says Birmingham must spend to stay above Wrexham

'We've got to keep up with one another. Wrexham have, I'd say, done an incredible job. I mean, you can't be anything but excited about what they've done for that club… I'm so impressed by Wrexham.
'What they do on the pitch, off the pitch, and again, they're in a great position to succeed as well.'
Asked about the rivalry in a fixture that has been dubbed the 'Hollywood Derby', Brady said: 'We're going to talk a lot of smack in the meantime between all of us, because it's pretty fun theatre, and I think there's some little friendly side bets going on.
'But make no mistake, the people who are going to decide the fate of those games are the players wearing those jerseys.'
Brady made 10 Super Bowl appearances and had seven victories – both individual records – in a storied 23-year NFL career between 2000 and 2022.

The 47-year-old admits he would love to bring the Super Bowl to Birmingham once the club's new 62,000-seater stadium is built in Bordesley Green.
He said: 'That would be pretty amazing. I don't make all those decisions. I'm not sure how much I can influence those decisions.
'But I think that my partner, Tom Wagner (Birmingham chairman), is an incredible man, incredible businessman.
'He has huge ambitions for the club, and I would never bet against anything that he tries to accomplish.'
Former Celtic and Tottenham coach Chris Davies steered Birmingham to League One glory with a record 111 points from 46 games.

The previous season Birmingham were relegated to the third tier for the first time in 29 years, with former England captain Wayne Rooney having been sacked in January after just 15 matches in charge.
Brady said: 'I think that's a very natural part of a growth process, that you are going to face adversities along the way.
'When I look back at those years, I'm very proud of what we accomplished because of what we overcame.
'Whatever happened two years ago or a year ago makes really no impact on where we're at now.
'I think this club has a great manager. The expectations and standards have been set at a different level, and we're going into this Championship season with great excitement.
'We want to restore it (Birmingham) to the glory that it's been in the past. To move up and to be promoted to the Premier League is a very daunting task, but it can be achieved.'

Sheehan eyes new Swansea signing before Boro
Swansea City hope to seal at least one more signing before Saturday's Championship opener at Swans have so far added Cameron Burgess, Ricardo Santos, Ethan Galbraith, Zeidane Inoussa and Bobby Wales while Melker Widell is with them after being loaned back to Aalborg BK after signing in Swansea's options are limited at centre-back and they are in the market for a if a new signing was on the cards ahead of the trip to Middlesbrough, head coach Alan Sheehan replied: "All going well, yeah."We are in talks with players, but we are not going to just sign anyone, it's got to be the right fit for the football club in order to make us better."We've made good quality signings and maybe will make a couple more before the end of the window."Swansea's squad remains thin after a long summer leavers list that included Harry Darling, Kyle Naughton, Joe Allen and Lewis O'Brien."There has been a lot of change, we have done good business, but we will also need to bring in more," said Sheehan."There's a recruitment strategy with Adam Worth onto us daily. Wrexham: Phil Parkinson's verdict on FC Groningen defeat
The Dutch top flight hosts took the lead at De Langeleegte, in Veendam, after 18 minutes through David Van der Werff but Parkinson's men were soon back on level terms when summer signing Josh Windass bagged his first goal for the Reds. But Groningen, who finished 13th in the Eredivisie last season, went ahead before half-time through Brynjólfur Willumsson and the Iceland international sealed victory in the 88th minute. That fixture, with no Wrexham fans allowed to attend, came on the back of an earlier behind-closed-doors game between the clubs which resulted in a 1-0 win for FC Groningen. But it was the defending for the goals in the afternoon match which Parkinson, preparing for the club's Championship campaign following three successive promotions, says needed to be better. He told the club's YouTube channel: "It was a valuable exercise for us, everybody getting 90 minutes, so we are pleased with that. "Disappointed with the goals we conceded this afternoon. "There was not a lot in the game really and we have been too easy to score against. "The first goal was a very basic run which we didn't deal with and the second one was a hopeful ball into the box which shouldn't result in a goal, and obviously the set-play at the end. "In terms of the physical work-out, good. "We scored a good goal and we had a few other good chances but we have got to have a harder edge about us to keep the ball out of the net. "The niceties of pre-season suddenly now go out of the window as we go into the league season and we have got to have that edge about us that we have got to defend our goal better than we did today." Max Cleworth fired wide with an early chance for Wrexham and after FC Groningen went ahead, Windass - brought in after the striker parted company with troubled Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday - netted with a superb finish from George Dobson's ball into the box to level the scores. However, Dan Scarr doesn't get good contact on a cross and his header lands into the path of Willumson who made it 2-1 to the Dutch side in the 39th minute. Both teams had half-chances in the second half but FC Groningen scored a late third goal to seal victory. Every player, apart from Tom O'Connor who limped off in the latter stages, played 90 minutes while most of the players who started the morning fixture also lasted the duration. That included new signing Conor Coady who joined Wrexham for an undisclosed fee from Leicester City on Friday. Parkinson did make some changes in the second half with several Academy graduates getting a run-out as the home side grabbed a late winner. On Coady, the Reds' boss added: "He was good but we know about him. "He is assured, he reads the game really well and is a great communicator which is so important. "We just decided to play him in that game because he'd only met the lads briefly yesterday (Friday) morning. "We played a few of the other senior ones in that game as well and had the youngsters on the bench. "If you look at the (afternoon) game in the second half, the energy went out of it because both teams didn't make subs. "In a normal game, there would be three or four subs from both teams which can give that lift of energy but we decided to utilise it today as an exercise to give as many senior players 90 minutes as possible."
