White Lotus star Walton Goggins flaunts his newfound sex symbol status on SNL, jokes about his receding hairline
After praising a skit, mocking his White Lotus co-star Aimee Lou Wood, Walton Goggins made his own debut on Saturday Night Live on May 10 and didn't shy away from flaunting his new sex symbol status that he gained after White Lotus Season 3. The 53-year-old danced his way to the stage, joined by his mother for a special tribute to Mother's Day weekend, and surprised the audience with an unexpected tap dance move. Later in the show, Goggins' co-star from the HBO series, Sam Rockwell, also joined him for a pre-recorded hilarious sketch talking about tiny feet. Surprisingly, he didn't mention Aimee once..
Walton Goggins played the role of Rick Hatchett in The White Lotus alongside Aimee Lou Wood's Chelsea. During his SNL monologue, Goggins joked about the unexpected attention he's been getting from fans and the media, especially after his character's brooding persona in the show. 'I die in The White Lotus, but I guess my character is so brooding that the internet found it… attractive,' he said with a laugh. 'Some of my friends even ask me, 'Walton, what's it like becoming a sex symbol at 53?' Honestly, it feels fantastic!' However, seconds after flaunting his appeal, he cracked another joke, this one on himself, bringing up some of the headlines that had been written about him. One from Cosmopolitan read, 'Are We All Horny for Walton Goggins's Receding Hairline?' To this, Goggins jokingly replied, 'I've had the same hairline since I was seven. It's not receding, it's holding its ground.'

He read another headline, 'Hollywood's Newest Heartthrob Is a Greasy, Depressing Little Man Whom No One Saw Coming.' This time, Goggins said he was a little offended by a particular choice of words. He said, 'Thank you? But the part that offends me the most is the word 'whom.' It just sounds so pretentious!'
Goggin's spoke about his upbringing and added, 'But you know what isn't pretentious? My upbringing. I was raised in Atlanta, Georgia, by my mother with the help of her three sisters and my grandmother. And my mama is the most important person in my life.' Seizing a chance to celebrate his mother on the occasion of Mother's Day, the HBO star invited his mother onto the stage. The two started with a slow dance before surprising everyone with a special tap dancing routine. Later in the show, Goggins was joined by Sam Rockwell, who played the role of Frank, Rick's close acquaintance in the show. The duo teamed up for a hilarious pre-recorded sketch and went on about a man with baby feet. This SNL appearance came just a month after The White Lotus Season 3 finished airing on HBO.

Kaitlyn Dever's Abby to be the focus of the Season 3 of The Last of Us; co-creator drops massive spoiler
If you are a fan of The Last of Us, we might have a spoiler for you. Season 3 will centre around Kaitlyn Dever's character, Abby. How do we know? Co-creator Neil Druckmann confirmed it during an FYC panel earlier this week. 'I can't believe that they let us structure the series in this way, meaning like, we just ended Season 2, and Season 3 is going to be starring — spoiler alert — Kaitlyn,' he said as quoted by Variety. The end of Season 2 already hinted at this direction, as the perspective shifted from Ellie (played by Bella Ramsey) to Abby. Abby is known for a key and controversial moment: killing Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) in Season 2. Speaking virtually at the panel, Dever addressed the mixed fan reactions to Abby: 'I guess the controversy surrounding Abby was never really a concern for me, just given my first meeting with Craig and Neil and how wonderful they are and how talented they are.' Co-creator Craig Mazin explained why Joel's death was a necessary turn in the story. 'In a show where we try and keep things as grounded as possible, and we want people to feel in real danger, then yes, sometimes the people that we can't imagine dying die. That's because, for me, this is not a show about revenge. It's a show about grief,' he said The Last of Us premiered its first season on January 15, 2023, on HBO. It starred Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. In addition to Pascal and Ramsey, Season 1 also featured Gabriel Luna, Isabela Merced, and Young Mazino in key roles. The second instalment of the show premiered on April 13 this year and concluded on May 25. The release date for Season 3 has not been announced yet. A: It will centre around Abby, played by Kaitlyn Dever. A: Abby killed Joel early in Season 2, a major and emotional turning point.

‘What the hell is wrong with her': Reddit reacts to ‘abhorrent' JK Rowling justifying any violence Imane Khelif may face
Author JK Rowling's latest comment on the bullying faced by Algerian boxer and Olympic champion Imane Khelif has left a section of social media furious. Rowling, who was one of several high-profile names who suggested that Imane was born male, has now suggested that if any harm is caused to Imane as a result of her accusations, then the responsibility will fall on those who lied about Imane's sex. (Also read: HBO introduces new Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ronald Weasley from web series; turns off comments) On her X account, JK Rowling shared a news report with the caption, 'The psychological damage done to the young women he punched, while the entire world watched and the sporting establishment jeered, shamed and gaslit them, is naturally of no importance whatsoever.' A user on X asked in response, 'If this poor woman is driven to suicide by your harassment, how will you feel?' In response, Rowling replied, calling Iman a 'he' throughout, 'If any harm befalls Khelif as a result of the truth coming to light, responsibility will lie solely with those who lied about his sex so that he could carry on endangering young women and stripping them of their rightful honours in front of the world's media.' This tweet made its way on Reddit, where several users on the platform slammed the author for making such an insensitive remark. One user commented, 'Imane was born a woman, though, what the f*** is she yapping about? How misogynistic do you have to be to call a non-feminine woman a man? This freak is a disgrace.' Another said, 'It's unfathomable that HBO will want to work with her after this tweet specifically. Yes they're all bad, but this really feels beyond the pale.' 'This is abhorrent. What a miserable, toxic human being,' said another. A comment read, 'Pretty disgusting to say considering JK Rowling has admitted to suffering from suicidal ideation as well. This woman is a husk of a person that is completely devoid of empathy and humanity.' A user wrote, 'Rowling is despicable. Who knew Umbridge was her self-insert?' Last year, Imane Khelif had named Elon Musk and JK Rowling in a cyberbullying lawsuit. Imane won gold in the 66kg division at the Paris Olympics. However, she faced a massive amount of hate on social media, with people accusing her of being transgender or being born male.
