Browns not the only one monitoring Isaiah Bond's situation
It's been reported that former Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond, who stated he was joining the Cleveland Browns, is currently under investigation. The league is reviewing his sexual assault case, which was no-billed on Thursday evening, according to Mary Kay Cabot of While the team has made no official announcement of this signing, Bond was quick to shout out Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and other representatives of the franchise. In terms of best fit, Cleveland could be the quickest opportunity for this young wide receiver to get another chance. The NFL is reviewing this case because there is a possibility that, even if not faced with legal action, Bond could have violated the Personal Conduct Policy. Despite this, the reason for signing Bond is obvious: the Browns desperately need depth at the wide receiver position, and Bond was projected to be a first- or second-round pick before his legal troubles. The expectation is that the team will announce his signing sooner rather than later, especially if they want to have him on the field for the final preseason game. Zaakir McClendon arrested nearly 3 years after fatal shooting near Roxborough High School football field
Nearly three years later, Philadelphia police have arrested a sixth suspect in the 2022 shooting that killed 14-year-old Roxborough High School student Nicolas Elizalde and injured four other people. Zaakir McClendon, 20, has been arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder and other offenses, officers said in a news release. McClendon had already been arrested on murder charges for an unrelated fatal shooting that occurred in April 2023 in North Philadelphia. The Roxborough shooting happened after school on Sept. 27, 2022, near the school's football field. Police said Elizalde and others were leaving a football scrimmage and walking on the 300 block of Fairway Terrace when an SUV pulled up alongside them — then five people got out and opened fire. Police have said Elizalde wasn't the intended target, but the motive isn't clear. The four others, all teenagers, had a range of gunshot injuries - some had graze wounds while others had more serious leg and arm injuries. Five other suspects have been arrested for the shooting, and two suspects — Troy Fletcher and Zyhied Jones — pleaded guilty. Jones was sentenced to 30 to 60 in prison. Police said ballistic evidence showed multiple people's DNA on the bullet casings found at the scene. While the others' DNA was later identified, the evidence contained one DNA profile that stayed unknown until May 2025, when the CODIS database linked the unknown profile to McClendon. McClendon's phone records showed he was in "frequent contact around the time of the murder with at least two individuals already charged in the case," and that "additional communications suggested a possible motive." Within a year of the shooting, Roxborough High School added 287 new cameras and additional safety staff for after-school events. Federal investigators later alleged that a deputy in the Philadelphia Sheriff's Office had sold two of the guns used in the shooting. The former deputy Samir Ahmad, was suspended and dismissed days after selling guns to an undercover FBI agent in a sting operation. This is a developing story and will be updated.

Detroit TV reporter Hank Winchester cleared in Oakland County police investigation
WDIV-TV reporter Hank Winchester has been cleared of all charges after law enforcement searched his Oakland County home in June as part of a sexual misconduct investigation. "After having to endure over nine weeks of an investigation, having his life turned upside down from every facet possible, we got great news yesterday from law enforcement that there was no criminal findings and no warrants will be issued," said Winchester's attorney, Todd Flood, in a news conference Friday. "He was put through the ringer over an allegation that did not even warrant the issuance of a charge," said attorney Neil Rockind. The Oakland County Sheriff's Office confirmed that its deputies were at Winchester's Beverly Hills home on June 13 to assist in a search warrant. At that time, the sheriff's office directed further questions to the Beverly Hills Police Department, which was leading the investigation. "After a thorough investigation, which involved multiple interviews as well as searches of both the scene of the incident and electronic devices, the Beverly Hills Police Department presented their findings to our office. On the facts of this case, it was concluded there was no cause to file any charges against Mr. Winchester," said Oakland County Chief Assistant Prosecutor David Williams. Winchester issued the following statement after being cleared of charges: "I'm thankful this investigation is over. The allegations made against me were outrageous, unfounded, and defamatory. Throughout my 24-year career in Detroit, my mission has always been to help the community I love, protect you from bad actors, and fight for justice. I will always fight for you—just as I've recently had to fight for myself. I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has shown me tremendous support, especially my family and friends. The messages from so many of you greatly helped me through this incredibly difficult time." Winchester is an Emmy Award-winning consumer investigative reporter who joined WDIV in 2001 and is known for his "Help Me Hank" segments, according to his bio on the station's Booth-Singleton contributed to this report.
