Your Freeview TV gets a brand new channel today, but it comes at a cost
There's good news and bad news if you have a Freeview TV in your living room. It's been confirmed that this service is getting a major shakeup today, with an all-new channel arriving in UK homes. Although that's clearly great for those wanting more things to watch, it does come at a cost, with another popular platform being closed to make way for the upgrade.
So, what's new and what's disappearing? From today, June 9, those heading to channel 28 on the planner will no longer see ITVBe. Instead, this reality service is being switched over to ITV Quiz instead.
As you may well have guessed by its name, ITV Quiz will be showing back-to-back quizzes and game shows throughout the day and night.
Although upcoming content has yet to be confirmed, a quick look at this week's TV guide shows that Freeview users will be treated to shows such as Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Tipping Point, Wheel of Fortune, Lino, Deal or No Deal, and Tenable.
ITV has confirmed that it's launching the new channel to "draw on ITV's popular, market-leading UK quiz and game shows".
ITV Quiz should appear automatically but if you aren't seeing the changes then you might want to perform a quick retune.
Although this is great for quiz fans, what happens if you love binge-watching reality shows via ITVBe?
ITVBe has long offered content such as Dinner Date, The Only Way Is Essex, The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Abbey Clancy: Celebrity Homes.
From today, many of these programmes will move to ITV2 to make way for those game shows on the new service.
Along with Freeview, this change will also impact Sky, Freely and Virgin Media users.

ITV This Morning viewers distracted by Star Wars legend Mark Hamill's appearance
Mark Hamill is well known for playing Luke Skywalker in the legendary film series Star Wars This Morning viewers were left distracted by Star Wars star Mark Hamill 's appearance as he discussed his latest TV project. The actor, 73, is well known for playing one of the most iconic characters in sci-fi history as he took on his famous role as Luke Skywalker in the legendary film series. After playing the character for many years, he is now set to star in the new movie Life of Chuck alongside Tom Hiddleston, who plays the eponymous Chuck Krantz. Chiwetel Ejiofor and Karen Gillan will also appear in supporting roles. During Tuesday's (August 19) episode of the ITV hit chat show, hosts Sian Welby and Craig Doyle were joined by the actor as he discussed his latest TV project. However, as expected, the conversation soon turned to Star Wars, as Mark admitted that he originally thought the film was a parody after getting his script. Craig pointed out, 'When you went into that on the first read of that movie with Harrison Ford, you thought it was a parody of some sort of Sci-Fi movie. He explained: 'The thing is I didn't get the full script, I was going to do the screen test and there were only 8 pages and I was thinking 'who talks like this?' so I asked Harrison 'is this some sort of paradise?' 'Do you know what he said?' Imitating Harrison's voice, he went on: 'Hey kid, let's just get it done.' He was no help at all.' He continued, " Harrison was the leading man to me, so I just assumed he was the leading character and I was his annoying psychic. "Then I got the movie and they sent me the script and I realised 'oh my God it's from my point of view' which was really unusual to talk from a teenage point of view.' But This Morning viewers watching at home were more focused on Mark's appearance. They wasted no time sharing their reaction on social media and praising the star. One viewer wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: 'Great guest Mark Hamill. #ThisMorning.' Another commented: '#ThisMorning he still looks good even now.' A third said: '#This Morning was a great interview with Mark Hamill.' One commented, 'Mark Hamill. What a great guest #ThisMorning.' Meanwhile, another added: '@MarkHamill is definitely a Hollywood legend and still looks handsome as ever #Thismorning.'

Midsomer Murders' Neil Dudgeon opens up on being replaced after 'cancellation' remark
The much-loved ITV series, Midsomer Murders, is back on our screens tonight with a rerun of an episode from series 23 titled The Debt of Lies Neil Dudgeon will be reprising his role as Detective John Barnaby, alongside Nick Hendrix, who plays Detective Sergeant Jamie Winter in Midsomer Murders. The plot for tonight's episode reads: "When the latest resident of a police retirement community is found dead, the tight-knit group regards a murder on their doorstep as both an affront and a challenge." As fans eagerly anticipate new episodes of Midsomer Murders, Neil recently addressed rumours about his departure from the show and revealed when the series would return to television, according to the Express. Neil joined the cast in 2011, replacing John Nettles, who played the original chief detective, Tom Barnaby. In a chat with Radio Times, he admitted that he would continue playing the detective until the show's bosses decided it was time for him to leave. On the topic of his future on the show, Neil said, "No, I assume that at some point I'll get the hook. You know, the hook will all come and sort of drag me off into the wings, and they won't want me anymore. "But they haven't done it yet, so I'm going to keep going to work until I get the hook." In a separate interview with Radio Times, Neil shared his initial concerns about taking over from John Nettles as the lead detective. He confessed, "It was hard at the beginning because John had done it for 14 years. "If they'd cancelled me after one series, that would have been embarrassing! It gets easier, but I try to keep it fresh. Even if I've gone through the script 50 times, I'll look at it again and have another thought. It's still extremely pleasant and I'm extremely grateful." The actor who plays John Barnaby also revealed some thrilling news about series 25, which will feature four new tales. Although he's unsure of when the episodes will be broadcast, Neil confirmed that filming kicked off in March this year. 'I don't know when it's next being broadcast, but we start filming again at the end of March for season 25, so it goes on," he declared. "We've had a year off this year. We didn't film this year, but last year. But we are filming again this year. We're filming four new stories from March this year." Midsomer Murders is back tonight at 8pm on ITV.
