Bobby Deol recalls friendship with SRK, says Aryan is all set to conquer the world

Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan's directorial debut, 'The Bads of Bollywood', was unveiled at a grand event on August 20. The Netflix series features an impressive ensemble cast, including Bobby Deol. Playing the role of Ajay Talwar, the actor also reflected on his over three-decade-long friendship with SRK, which continues to remain the launch of Aryan Khan's much-awaited directorial debut, Bobby Deol opened up about being a part of the project. He not only praised Aryan's vision and conviction but also reminisced about watching him grow up as Shah Rukh Khan's 20th of August will always remain special for me. I still remember when Shah Rukh bhai once said, 'Hamare bachche hai, and they want to join the industry'. Today, seeing Aryan take that step feels surreal. I have seen him as a little boy, and then years later, when I heard him speak, there was something magical about him, as if he was ready to conquer the world. And today, here we are, presenting his work, 'The Bads of Bollywood', Deol said. Further, the actor recalled the time when he was offered the role in the series and what made him say yes. 'I clearly remember getting a call from Red Chillies. They said, 'Aryan is doing this show, would you like to be a part of it?' I instantly said yes without a second thought. But Aryan still wanted to narrate it to me himself. I went to the office, sat there for almost seven hours, and listened to the entire script. The conviction with which he narrated it left me amazed. That made me so happy because, as parents, we always wish for our children to be talented and successful. At the same time, we live in fear because we know the struggles we went through to reach where we are,' he the end of his speech, Deol then shared how Aryan's conviction and eye for detail elevated the project, making it an experience unlike any other for the cast.'I feel so lucky to be a part of this show. It's not special because it's Aryan's or Shah Rukh bhai's project, but because it truly is massive. Every actor has performed brilliantly, but it's the director who brings out the soul of the story. To translate what's written on paper into real emotions on screen is not easy, and Aryan has done it beautifully. From the youngest to the most mature characters, he has drawn out the best from everyone. Yes, he pushed us a lot, made us do many takes, and I kept thinking initially that he would go easy on us (laughs),' he preview shows Bobby Deol entering the series as the biggest superstar ever - Ajay Talvar, while Salman Khan makes a special appearance at a bulls**t party, and Ranveer Singh exclaiming "very hard" at the end. Johar, who's good friends with the SRK family, seems to be playing himself - a Bollywood director pissed with people and life in preview also appears to take a dig at celebrities who gain more fame after serving jail time in controversial cases. Sahher Bambba, Manoj Pahwa, Gautami Kapoor, Mona Singh and Rajat Bedi, among others, play important roles.A teaser and trailer for the show are yet to be out. 'The Bads of Bollywood' will premiere on Netflix on September 18.- EndsIN THIS STORY#Shah Rukh Khan
