Mrunal Thakur has finally addressed the swirling rumours linking her romantically to Tamil superstar Dhanush. The buzz intensified after the two were spotted together multiple times, sparking speculation of a new romance in Bollywood and Kollywood circles. However, the actress has stepped forward to set the record straight.
In a recent interview cited by Only Kollywood, Mrunal laughed off the dating rumors, emphasizing their friendship instead. She said, 'Dhanush is just a good friend to me," brushing aside the rumors as lighthearted and unfounded. Aware of the media chatter, she called the speculations 'funny" and insisted there was nothing romantic between them.
Adding to the clarification, Mrunal revealed that Dhanush's presence at the Son of Sardaar 2 screening was not due to her invitation. 'Dhanush attended the Son of Sardaar 2 event. No one should misunderstand that. It was Ajay Devgn who invited him," she explained, putting an end to misconceptions about her role in the actor's attendance.
The rumours first started gaining traction when Mrunal was seen at the wrap-up party of Tere Ishq Mein, the upcoming film featuring Dhanush and Aanand L Rai. Additionally, during the Son of Sardaar 2 screening, the duo shared a brief moment that was widely circulated online, further fueling gossip. Mrunal's recent following of Dhanush's sisters on Instagram also added to the speculation, though both actors have remained discreet about their personal lives.

Dhanush, who was married to director Aishwarya Rajinikanth (daughter of superstar Rajinikanth) for 18 years, parted ways with her in 2022. The couple shares two children, Linga and Yatra.
