Today's Nakshatra is Magha, which is associated with power, prestige, and blessings of ancestors. This Nakshatra makes a person aware of self-respect and karma, so today is considered very auspicious for remembering ancestors and worshiping Kuldevta. From the point of view of yoga, today there was Vyatipat Yoga till 4:05:17 AM in the morning, which is generally considered inauspicious, but the time after this can be considered normal to auspicious for the day's work. This day is Saturday, which is dedicated to Shani Dev, the god of justice. On this day, Shani Puja, donation, especially donation of black sesame, urad, and iron-related items, is very fruitful. The Moon is transiting in Leo today, which indicates self-confidence, a sense of leadership, and advancement in public life. Today, your focus can be more on your own honor and social image. Sunrise will be at 06:09:29 AM and sunset will be at 07:25:01 PM. At the same time, the moon will rise at 07:26:18 AM and set at 08:45:54 PM, due to which there will be stability and energy in the mind and emotions throughout the day. According to the Hindu calendar, today is Shak Samvat 1947 and Vikram Samvat 2082. According to both Amavasya and Purnima systems, today is the date of the Shravan month, which makes this day suitable for Shiva worship and fasting. Talking about inauspicious Muhurta, Rahu Kaal: from 09:28:22 AM to 11:07:48 AM in the morning, Yamaganda Kaal: from 02:26:41 PM to 04:06:08 PM in the afternoon, Gulik Kaal: from 06:09:29 AM to 07:48:55 AM in the morning. In summary, today is a very favourable day for family, commemoration of ancestors, religious worship, self-analysis, and pleasing Shani Dev. Focus on your actions, stay away from anger or ego, and adopt humility and a service spirit. This day can make your personality stronger, provided you remain restrained and polite with confidence. Rakhi And Sawan Purnima On The Same Day This Year

This year, Sawan Purnima fast will be observed on August 8, while bathing, donation and Rakhi will be celebrated on August 9, as per the timing of the Purnima tithi Sawan Purnima, observed on the full moon day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Shravan, is considered highly auspicious. The day is marked by rituals such as holy bathing, donation, and fasting, all dedicated to Lord Shiva, for whom the month of Shravan is especially dear. This full moon also coincides with the celebration of Rakshabandhan, the cherished festival that symbolises the bond between brothers and sisters. However, this year, the rituals of Sawan Purnima, including the fast and bathing-donation, will fall on different days, while Rakhi will be celebrated on the same day as the bathing and donation ritual. Astrologer Dr Krishna Kumar Bhargava from Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, shares key details about the timings and significance of this sacred day. Sawan Purnima 2025 Date Sawan Purnima Fast The Sawan Purnima fast will be kept on Friday, August 8, as the full moon tithi concludes by noon the next day. The moonrise on this day will take place at 6:42 PM, and this is when devotees should offer Arghya to the moon. Worshipping the moon on Purnima Arghya is an integral part of the fasting ritual, believed to bring peace, virtue, and blessings. Sawan Purnima Bathing And Donation Scriptures emphasise the importance of Udaya Tithi for rituals like bathing and donation. Therefore, when Sawan Purnima fast is observed on August 8, Sawan Purnima bathing and donation will take place on Saturday, August 9. The most auspicious time for this is during Brahma Muhurta, from 4:22 AM to 5:04 AM. Bathing and donating on this day are said to cleanse sins and earn spiritual merit. Rakshabandhan 2025 Date Raksha Bandhan is a day when sisters tie Rakhi to their brothers and pray for their well-being, while brothers promise to protect their sisters. It's a celebration of love, protection, and a lifelong bond. This year, Rakshabandhan also falls on Sawan Purnima, Saturday, August 9. As there is no Bhadra on this day, the festival can be celebrated throughout the day. The most auspicious time to tie Rakhi is between 5:47 AM and 1:24 PM. Auspicious Yogas on Sawan Purnima Three highly auspicious yogas will be formed on this year's Sawan Purnima: These yogas are believed to amplify the spiritual benefits of rituals performed on this day. Rog Panchak on Sawan Purnima Rog Panchak will start at 2:11 AM on August 10 and will last for five days. Although it technically begins on the tithi of Sawan Purnima, there will be no impact on Raksha Bandhan celebrations, which are based on the sunrise-to-sunrise cycle. view comments Location : New Delhi, India, India First Published: July 25, 2025, 11:40 IST News astrology Rakhi And Sawan Purnima On The Same Day This Year | Timings And Rituals Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
