Singaporean singer Regina Song nominated at inaugural Music Awards Japan
Singapore's pop sensation, Regina Song, 21, has been nominated at the inaugural Music Awards Japan (MAJ), making her the only Singaporean nominee at the event.
She is competing in the Best Song Asia category for her hit single, The Cutest Pair, taken off her debut album Fangirl.
The other nominees in this category are: Supernova by Aespa, Way 4 Luv by Plave, Satu Bulan by Bernadya and Ghost by Jeff Satur.
The announcement of the final nominees was made ahead of the award ceremony, which takes place on May 21 and 22 at Rohm Theater in Kyoto, Japan.
Song said of the nomination: 'It feels extremely surreal to be part of the top five nominees in the Best Song Asia category. It would be my absolute dream and honour to take this award home, but this nomination is already such a blessing, and I am so grateful for every person that has been cheering me on.'
The MAJ is organised by the Japan Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association, in collaboration with Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
Song's single, The Cutest Pair, garnered over 44 million streams on Spotify since its release in June 2024 and she currently has more than one million monthly listeners on the platform.
She staged a Southeast Asia tour in January 2025, performing in cities like Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Manila. She also took part in Wanderland Festival in March 2025 and is set to perform at Indonesia's LaLaLa Fest next.

Tagging the location as a coffeeshop at Blk 9012 Tampines Street 93, the former Mediacorp artiste formally introduced his stall in his first-ever TikTok. He wrote in the caption: 'A new beginning. Thank you for being part of it. That day at the stall was a wake-up call. Your kindness gave me strength to reflect and figure out my next steps. The road ahead is mine to walk — and it's a path I've chosen for myself. I'll be sharing this journey with you.' In early June, a social media user posted the first sighting of Zhang standing in front of the cash register and appearing to be taking orders from customers. Amid the hustle and bustle, the user noted that he was polite and humble, and he was working that day because his employee had resigned. On March 18, a Facebook post by the Tampines Small and Medium Enterprises Association (TSMEA) indicated that Zhang's stall was newly opened during that period and serves traditonal steamed dishes like egg, meat, fish and prawns. Zhang said in his video: 'I know there were many friends, even loyal customers, who took pictures of me helping out here last week. I am very grateful for all the encouragement I've received on social media. 'I would like to take the opportunity to thank the people by my side who have been silently supporting me, as well as the friends who have come over after seeing the reports.' He also credited his long-time friend Catherine Chew for encouraging him to create a TikTok account. 'I'm touched by her sincerity, as well as her eagerness for the public to see another side of me. She has also introduced me to several bosses, who want to collaborate with me on TikTok in the future.' The bachelor's image took a hit in July 2024 when rumours surfaced about him fathering children out of wedlock with women of different nationalities. In November 2024, Zhang took to Instagram to commemorate his holiday to South Korea with his two daughters, confirming his fatherhood for the first time. In February, Mediacorp's talent management agency The Celebrity Agency stated it was no longer representing him and he has not participated in the filming of any new shows. Taiwanese singer Christine Fan sorry she gave a bad performance on Chinese singing show: 'I really lost control'
After keeping a relatively low profile following her husband Blackie Chen's #MeToo scandal in 2023, Taiwanese singer Christine Fan made a surprising return to the spotlight by appearing on the Chinese singing show, Singer 2025 on Jun 6. The 49-year-old joined the show after the elimination of singer Terry Lin. Dressed in a glittery gold gown, Fan performed her own hit The First Dream, immediately sounding shaky and pitchy. Gaming firm Razer and food company Mars announce official joint venture with snack line
On Monday (Jun 9), gaming firm Razer and food manufacturer Mars announced an official joint venture to take their partnership line, Respawn, to the next level with a new range of products in the future. Razer, co-founded by Singaporean entrepreneur Min-Liang Tan, previously conceived the Respawn snack line as an April Fool's joke. It was then launched as a project offering flavoured drinks. Razer then collaborated with Mars to release gum and mints under the Respawn brand. Some of the current products in the range include Blackberry Vanilla and Mango Habanero mints, as well as Pomegranate Watermelon gum. According to Razer and Mars, the joint venture will see them developing "a full portfolio of snack products made for gamers, by gamers". In a statement, Tan said that Respawn "represents a strategic evolution in the expansion of Razer's mission to serve the global gaming community". "Our collaboration with Mars extends our gamer-centric ecosystem into the world of snacks," said Tan. "Respawn is a platform designed to redefine how gamers fuel their play, with snacks purposefully crafted to match the energy, focus and intensity of modern gameplay."
