LAFC coach: "Thomas Müller is a perfect fit for us!"
Many football fans are currently watching the Club World Cup in the USA - the sport has never felt as alive in this country. Some managers of the country's own clubs are meanwhile scouting players for their own teams - and Thomas Müller is hottest soon-to-be free agent on the market for American clubs.
'Of course I would be delighted if he came. Thomas is a perfect fit for us with his type, his experience, his class, but also with his mentality. Anyone who thinks Los Angeles is all about the weather and the show is very much mistaken. We want to win titles. And Müller knows how to do that', says LAFC coach and former Bundesliga player Steven Cherundolo about the Bayern Munich legend.

As LAFC is a partner club of Bayern Munich, the bosses of the German club would be very pleased to see Müller joining the Los Angeles based team. Other MLS clubs, mainly Cincinnati and their boss Jeff Berding, have also eyed up a possible Müller transfer in recent weeks.
'Thomas understands the game like no other. This position behind the front line suits him - and would also work for us and would help us a lot. But we'll talk about that when the time comes', continued Cherundolo in an interview with 'BILD'.
Thomas Müller has regularly opened up about his thoughts post-Bayern Munich - he does not know, whether his football journey ends after the Club World Cup or not. But he does want to focus on the tournament and his last games with Bayern Munich before making any decisions about his future.

Houston Rockets have second-best NBA title odds at sportsbooks after Kevin Durant trade
Before Game 7 of this year's NBA Finals tipped off, the NBA world was stunned by a Kevin Durant blockbuster deal, sending him to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in next week's 2025 NBA draft and five second-round picks. It also sent a shockwave through the odds board at sportsbooks, as the Rockets moved from the 12-1 range to around +750 to win the 2025-26 NBA championship. Those are the consensus second-best odds behind the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are well ahead of any other team at +230. Advertisement "Good trade for Phoenix, adding Jalen Green and the 10th pick is the right direction," Jeff Sherman, vice president of risk at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook told Yahoo Sports via text message. "We lowered Houston from 12-1 to +900 just based on perception. They should be in the mix no doubt, I just like the return for Phoenix better than what the Rockets got in a 37-year-old they have to extend." The New York Knicks (+900), Indiana Pacers (+950) and Cleveland Cavaliers (11-1) had the next-best consensus title odds at sportsbooks. "Having someone who can score in the half court was exactly what Houston was lacking all season, and it cost them dearly in the playoffs," Thomas Gable, sportsbook director at The Borgata in Atlantic City (a BetMGM book) told Yahoo Sports via text. "While this will be Durant's 18th season, he can still generate offense in the half court, even if he doesn't get to the basket as much as he used to. He should help a very young Rockets team, even if it's only a short stint." Advertisement Sherman and other oddsmakers did have Houston as the second-best team in the West in their power ratings, but cautioned the ranking was simply as of today's trade, noting, for example, if San Antonio traded for Giannis Antetokounmpo that could vault them to No. 2. "We slightly lowered the Rockets' title odds," Jeff Benson, director of sportsbook operations at Circa Sports said via direct message on X. "They upgraded and didn't give up a ton, especially the good young guys." The +750 odds are the best for the Rockets since the 2019 season, per Sports Odds History, when Houston was +700.

Bayern Munich add Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli to transfer target list
Christian Falk reports that Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have added Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli to their list of summer transfer targets. Incoming transfer rumors relating to the German giants continue to come thick and fast. FCB chief personnel officer Max Eberl and staff are clearly working overtime at the Säbener Straße headquarters. Arsenal's 18-times-capped Brazilian international fits the profile of what Bayern seek during the current summer transfer window. Namely, a winger with a proven performance record and a price tag in the €50m-€70m range. Martinelli maintains a current €55m estimated market value. Advertisement Bayern require assistance on both flanks ahead of the new Bundesliga campaign, but seem to be prioritizing players with leftward proclivities first. The Martinelli rumors make sense in the context of this need. Thanks to their early qualification for the Round-of-16 in the ongoing club World Cup, Bayern have already earned the equivalent of €39.5 million in the new mega-format tournament. It is such that one expects the German record champions to seal some blockbuster summer signings in the coming days. GGFN | Peter Weis
